Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Exchange
Nobody POV:
The students walk into their second day. They head in and see everyone they knew or even just met. Katie and Marisa are both getting dropped off at the same time. Their parents say goodbye before they head into school.
Angie POV:
"I'll see you after school, Marisa. Oh, and see if you can get Katie's number today!"
"Okay, Mom. I will. You can let go of me now." Marisa replies to her Mom.
"Oh sorry, Hunny. You are just so grown up. I hate saying bye to you when I drop you off," I say as I wipe a tear from my eyes. "You are just like your cousin when I first had to take her for your Aunt Carrie. She was so cute!"
"Okay Mom. I get the point. Now will you stop embarrassing me in front of the whole school?" Marisa says after she gets to the front door of the school. "Bye, Mom! I'll see you after school"
Katie POV:
"Mom being too embarrassing huh?" I say as I smirk at Marisa.
"Yeah! She does this all the time. Even if I go to visit my grandparents for the weekend." She replies as she smiles and shakes her head.
"I get ya! My mom and dad are like that too." I say as I pat Marisa on the back.
6 hours later

*After school*
Marisa walks outside the school in hopes to talk to Katie before she gets picked up.
Marisa POV:
"Katie!" I shout across the campus. "Got a minute? I want to ask you a question."
"Sure! What's up, girl?" Katie says in response to her new friend running up to greet her.
"Hey, so my mom is wanting to have you over for dinner one night and she wanted me to get your contact information. Is there any way I can get that from you really quick?"
"Yeah, for sure. Can I see your phone? I promise I won't do anything. I'm just going to put my number in it for you." Katie replies while smiling.
"Sure." I say nervously, handing her my phone.
"There! Let your mom know she can text me at anytime if she needs to talk to me. Also, do you want either of my parents contact information?"
"Yeah, that would be great! That way they know that you'll be safe and not have to worry" I respond to her.
"Okay, here ya go! Oh, I got to go! I'll see you tomorrow!" She says after she heads towards her car.
"Okay! See you tomorrow!" I say in response while I wave with a smile on my face.

*Marisa is in her room after eating dinner with her Mom and is heading to bed*
"Why do I keep catching myself thinking about her again? Why do I feel this way?" I wonder to myself. "Better question I should be asking is, what is this feeling?" I say out loud to myself.
After a long day, she finally lays her head down and has trouble falling asleep due to catching herself thinking about Katie for the second night in a row.
