Chapter 13: Dragon-Phoenix Twins
"She's fine. It's just that she finished developing a special ability in her magical energy."
Ebraham explained to the fairies that were worried sick. If he did not know better, he might think that this young woman was actually the mother of all fairies.
"This special ability may be related to growth catalyst special ability. Which is why the babies grow faster when in contact with her magical energy. It does not implicate the babies so they are fine."
The fairies let out a sigh of relief when they heard the explanation. Although the young woman was not their mother, the fairies felt motherly love from her and immediately fell in love with that.
Love the house love the crow on it. Since they loved the young woman, they also loved her babies. So, the fairies were very concerned of the wellbeing of the twin babies.
"Alright. All of you can go on your on now."
Ebraham dispersed the fairies out of the Medical Chamber. Although they were little, with them added up to a total of 255 people, they still packed the Medical Chamber stuff.
"Clean the operating table."
Ebraham instructed the maid automata while creating another chamber in the Medical Chamber. Now that the young woman would give birth any days by now, he needed to renovate the Medical Chamber ahead of schedule.
He changed the layout of the Medical Chamber based on basic layout of health unit in the Royal Medical Institution of Krudian Empire. With the wisdom of their predecessors, Krudian Empire had come out with the most comprehensive and optimum layout of health unit.
To achieve the same result, Ebraham only changed minor relevant parts of it while copying most of the layout. Operation theatre, waiting room, clinical rooms, etc. He built them closely together for efficiency on the first floor.
On the second floor, Ebraham built wards for patient to recuperate in. Inside of it, he created a window-like screen that showed the projection of outside scenery of the Sky Pillar. The screen was floor-to-ceiling sized which made it seemed like there was only a piece of glass separating the indoor and the outdoor. The scenery shown was a good positive distraction and could eliminate environmental stress in the ward.
Finished building the rooms inside of Medical Chamber, Ebraham proceeded to create the related tools and equipment for medical procedure. He used the highest quality of collected resources such as Mithril and Adamantine as the material to create the tools and powered them with magic crystals.
Done with the tools and equipment, Ebraham concocted potions and medications that were needed for the delivery either essential or supplementary. Now that the young woman and her babies had magical energy in their body, the treatment options were no longer limited.
Ebraham could now use magic herbs as material to concoct potions without worrying the backlash. He still checked their compatibility though; the young woman and her babies were otherworldly peoples after all.
And just like that, time slowly passed to the 9th of spring Year 0.
Light rain drizzled the earth cooling the heat as if blessing the auspicious day.
Ebraham had confirmed the signs of labour on the young woman. When he touched her abdomen, he could feel frequent contractions as the abdomen harden and loosen in stable intervals. Her water broke as clear and pale amniotic fluid drained out of her crotch.
Although the young woman should had felt the pain of contractions and backache, she did not show any sign of waking up. Checking the magical energy in her body, Ebraham concluded that she might not wake up for three more days.
Since she was still unconscious, the young woman could not actively push her babies out for natural labour and needed external assistance for her labour. For the safety of the young woman and her babies, Ebraham decided to do the caesarean delivery procedure or also known as C-section.
C-section was a surgical procedure used to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus. Since the young woman was expecting twins, a C-section even more relevant option for the delivery.
Inside of the operation theatre, Ebraham took the young woman out of the Medical Capsule and placed her on the operating table. He took a syringe and injected it at the lower back of the young woman.
Although she was unconscious and did not feel any pain, Ebraham still administered to the young woman Pain Resistant Potion, a type of epidural, as per medical protocol before performing a C-section.
While confirming the potion had kicked in, Ebraham readied himself to perform the surgical procedure. Standing across of the operating table was the maid automata that would assist him during the delivery.
Various surgical tools were laid within arm's reach. Not to forget the warm bath water, towel and medications for the babies after the delivery. Ebraham double checked the tools to make sure he had the right one.
Sensing the time was right, Ebraham dived into focused psyche and activated Telekinesis from his Domain feature.
With a steady grip, he made a 10cm incision on the abdomen of the young woman. At the same time, he controlled the suction machine to suck the gushing blood out of the wound as not to obstruct his view. Various tools flew around him and alternated with each other as he used Telekinesis on them.
While Ebraham was performing the surgery, his eyes occasionally glanced towards the monitor screen that showed the condition of the young woman and her babies. The monitor was showing numerous data that would blind an untrained eye, but the stable beeping sound told them that the young woman was stable.
Ebraham executed the procedure with a fluid motion as if health medicine was his area of expertise. He even done it with one-man team thanks to his Telekinesis ability.
Ebraham took out the first baby and hand him to the maid automata. The maid automata hastily gave the first born a warm bath and warped him in a soft towel. At the same time, Ebraham noted the weight and length of the baby while taking out the second baby.
Strong rhythmic cry resounded throughout the operation theatre. The maid automata tried her best to pacify the baby.
After the second baby was born, the same thing was repeated again on her. Now the deafening cries were doubled inside the operation theatre.
Seeing that there was no complication on both babies, Ebraham was relieved and focused again on their mother.
The incisions were sutured with special threads as to provide mechanical support to the wound closure. On top of that, Healing Potion was administered on the surgical wound to hasten the recovery.
Within seconds, the incisions healed without leaving a scar as if it was never there.
Ebraham checked the condition of the new mother via various monitors inside the operation theatre and gave her a few potions to strengthen her body.
Seeing that the twins were still crying, he took them into his arms. With a gentle bounce, the twins calmed down for a notch. Maybe his action was more human than the maid automata which caused the twin to calm down.
The young woman gave birth to Dragon-Phoenix fraternal twins. The first born was a boy and the second born was a girl. Their weights were healthy 3.6kg and 3.5kg respectively. Although they born earlier than expected, their body was in the same condition as a full termed baby, without any deformity.
Ebraham was very satisfied with the health of the twins. Even though he had monitored the growth of the babies inside their mother's womb, he was only relieved when the babies were safely delivered.
Before giving the twins medications that were helpful for their health, Ebraham double checked the safety of it and only administered it to them when he confirmed there would be no complication occurring.
Unlike the normal operation theatre that was usually cold, Ebraham did not cool down this operation theatre as his corporeal body could withstand heat and the magic equipment did not need external cooling effect.
Since the operation theatre was warm enough, the twins were lightly warped with soft towels. As per tradition, the twins were directly placed skin-to-skin on their mother's bosom and secured with a cloth.
Instantly, the babies were pacified by their mother's scent and warmth. The twins instinctually hugged and sucked the breastmilk out of their mother's chests.
Seeing that the twins calmed down while feeding on breastmilk, Ebraham proceeded with the next agenda.
Although the operation theatre was sealed and sanitized for several times, Ebraham still afraid that the babies would be implicated with substance in the atmosphere. He had ascertained that the babies would be safe when exposed to the substance in the atmosphere, but they were otherworldly people after all.
Their origins were neither from this world nor HIS world. The data pertaining otherworldly people was still limited, so Ebraham did not want to take the risk.
After the babies settled down, Ebraham placed the family of three inside the Medical Capsule and transferred them to the ward on the second floor. The magic liquid inside of Medical Capsule would become a barrier protecting the babies from potentially dangerous elements lurking in the atmosphere.
When he placed them inside the Medical Capsule, Ebraham was worried that the babies would be uncomfortable in that liquid environment. But the twins were only frowning for a while and turned back to normal as if everything was normal which was very surprising.
As a bipedal terrestrial creature, human did not feel very comfortable being submerged in liquid and feeling afloat in liquid medium. Human was used to being able to move without feeling resistance on their body and did not feel the buoyancy of the atmosphere, unlike the feeling in the water or other liquid medium.
Surprisingly, unlike their mother that was unconscious, the twins were okay being submerged in magic liquid while being aware of it.
But on the second thoughts, before the twins were human, they were babies inside their mother's womb a few minutes earlier. Maybe the liquid medium of magic liquid provided the same feeling when they were inside the womb that was filled with amniotic fluid.
Thinking with that line of thought, Ebraham was relieved to let the babies stayed inside of Medical Capsule.
