Paul was satisfied with the amount of strength he just received. Although it was only a slight increase, this was enough to make him stronger than the top vice-admirals. With 50% immortality,
Paul: " hmmm, you guys can go wherever you want to. Robin, there is a poneglyph here, but I'm not sure if it is the one you are looking for hehe."
Robin: " Since you are saying that, then I will be looking forwards to what information it contains."
Paul: " Ah, Sera, there is also an interesting history about this place, maybe in the near future, we can claim this place as our territory as well haha."
Sera: " Whatever."
Paul: " Daz, do you want to do anything in particular?"
Daz: " hmm, nothing at the moment, I will just follow you."
Nodding his head, Paul continued his adventure on fish-man island. Mermaids, although there are 'sightings' of mermaids back on his own planet, it was never proven true. This time, although this was just an anime, it is now his life. He can see 'real' mermaids with his own eyes.
Walking around for nearly an hour, he had already reached a bustling place. All his eyes could see were different kinds of mermen-folk here. Unlike him, the strawhats, had a particular bond already with fish-man island by rescuing hatchi, megalo, Shirahoshi's pet shark, and a tight bond with Jimbe who is sort of the fish-man's representative and hero. The least, Paul could do is create a bond with King Neptune and Shirahoshi and the best way to do this is by rescuing Shirahoshi from Vader Decken.
Sooner or later, he will deal with this, but for now he wants to explore the fish-man island's cuisine. Since whitebeard hasn't died yet, Fish-man island still hasn't made the special candy that Big Mom wants.
Soon after, Paul went into mermaid Cafe where Shyarly worked at. He ordered some of their special cuisine that had some sea king meat and other specialties. Paul, Daz, and Sera both ate in a relaxed manner.
'stomp' 'stomp'.
Paul: "hmm? Looks like we may have some company."
Using observation haki, he saw there were a dozen groups of fish-man soldiers surrounding the area.
Fishman Soldier: " Paul of the Chaos pirates, our King wants an audience with you."
Paul: " An audience? He already knew that we entered here? Ok let's go out and see what King Neptune wants then."
Paul and his crew quickly finished eating and went out.
Paul: " I'm here, please try not to hurt us, we are here peacefully haha."
Paul put up his hands and quietly followed the Fish-man soldiers. They went onto their ship and a few minutes after, the ship flew up into another entrance that led to Ryugu palace. Soon they were brought forth in front of the throne where they saw a large fish-man that had a human upper body and fish lower body. He had a small golden crown and and held a golden trident in his right hand. A powerful aura erupted with Paul and his crew walked in.
Paul: " Hello, King Neptune, to what do I have this honor to be given an audience with you."
Paul smiled as he spoke.
King Neptune: " Paul of the Chaos pirates. I have heard many stories about you, I do not know how I should treat you as you had just caused quite a commotion above sea."
Paul: " Well, it was only a small matter, it was the celestial dragon's fault for being arrogant. I only come in peace, so you should not have any worries. I also want to build friendly relations with you. "
King Neptune nodded as Paul spoke.
King Neptune: " Release his restraints."
Fish-man soldier: " But King Neptune he is still a pirate."
King Neptune: " Hurry up and do it, he is now a guest."
The fish-man soldier could only obey the command as he released the restraints on Paul and his crew.
King Neptune: " I know that you have a crew member named Nico Robin. I wonder how I should treat her and whether or not you guys are a threat to my kingdom."
Paul: " Well, King Neptune, Nico Robin do indeed have the ability to threaten your kingdom or the world I should say. But, obtaining the ancient weapons, I assure it's not our goal."
King Neptune contemplated Paul's words.
Paul: " I would like to solve a problem of yours, if you don't mind."
King Neptune looked at Paul with a serious expression.
King Neptune: " And what problem would that be."
Paul: " Vander Decken."
King Neptune: " What... What could this problem align with?"
Paul: " I could take care of him, He should be targeting your daughter right, Princess Shirahoshi."
King Neptune: " How... how do you know about this issue."
Paul: " Let's just say I know a few things. I don't have any ulterior movements, we had run into Vander Decken before arriving here and I just wanted to settle some old debts. If I solve this issue, can I take it that we will be friends from here on at least?"
King Neptune contemplated even longer. He does not know much about the pirate before him. Before King Neptune could say another word.
Paul: " If you have trouble trusting me, hopefully you could trust another fellow citizen. Camie, I rescued her once and even helped her find some treasure. I know that it may take a leap of faith for you to trust a pirate like me, but I will make it worth your trouble. I am going to take care of one of your problem right now."
With that being said, Paul walked towards the side where Shirahoshi's room was. A few minutes later, Paul arrived in front of a large steel door. The steel door was littered with axe and swords that was pierced into the door. When looking at the door, he could feel Luffy's anger when he found out that Vander Decken was the one throwing the weapons at Shirahoshi. This was no different than being a prisoner in her own house. Witnessing her own mother's death and knowing the one who killed her, she was soon put in solitude and had little contact with her family.
Paul opened the door and found a giant beautiful mermaid sleeping soundly. Not far from her, was a giant shark with a shirt on its body. Paul walked in front of her and gently slapped her face to wake her up.
Shirahoshi: " Umm, who are you?"
Paul: " Me? I'm a friend of your father. My name is Paul, a pirate."
Shirahoshi: " ah, my name is Shirahoshi. A pirate? AHH, are you going to hurt me."
Paul: " haha, no, I am here to meet you, I just said that I am a friend of your father."
Shirahoshi: " Ahh, okay, nice to meet you."
Paul: " haha, nice to meet you too. Let's become friends Shirahoshi, as your friend, I will help you whenever you want me to. Do you have somewhere you want to go to?"
Shirahoshi: " Umm... I... I want to go to the sea forest."
Already expecting the answer, Paul smiled.
Paul: " Sure, let's go tell your father first."
Shirahoshi: " Ok... Okay let's go."
Shortly after, the two arrived before King Neptune.
Paul: " King Neptune, I'm going to take her to the sea forest. After that I will go deal with Vander Decken. Will that be alright?"
King Neptune once again put a complicated face on.
King Neptune: " Urgh. Fine. With your strength you should be able to protect her. However, I will also send some guards with you for insurance.
Paul: " Sure no problem."
