Chapter 17: Chapter 17 Peaceful Establishment
Inside the palace in the throne room.
Hody: " What is the meaning of this? What did I do wrong to be brought here."
Fukabushi: " Hmph, We were told of your treasonous actions."
Hody: " what do you mean, what treason. "
Neptune: " YOU were the one who killed Queen Otohime!!!"
Hody: " Lies, where did you here that from. I was the one who found and capture the person that dared to kill Queen Otohime."
Neptune: " megallen told Shirahoshi."
Hody: " ... Gehahaha, to think that megallen saw it."
Neptune: " HODY HOW DARE YOU!!!"
Now that Hody admitted himself, they fully believed Paul even more now. Paul was the one who knew first, when he heard it from Shirahoshi, he had to confirm it for himself.
As he was about to execute Hody Paul, Shirahoshi, and everyone else came into the palace.
Neptune: " Shirahoshi leave the room while I settle this."
Shirahoshi: " f father, you can't hate him for this, mother said we shouldn't hate anyone."
Paul interrupted her saying, " that's true, a person should learn how to forgive another, but the their crimes committed cannot be forgotten. And the grave crime of killing their own people and leader who was trying their best to fight for their people is as worst as on can get. However, as it is the duty of a king and for any man the right to avenge her death. If Neptune feels the need to kill Hody, don't stop him, if he locks him up for his crimes, then that will also be just fine. King Neptune has his pride as a husband and king of a nation, He deserves every bit of revenge on Hody for his evil deeds. We have no right in interfering at least I don't."
Shirahoshi thought about what Paul had said, she was contemplating on what Paul had said. When she found out her mother had died and who had really killed her, she felt nothing but sadness. She then thought about what her mother had said and also what Hody had done. If Hody haven't killed her mother then, she still would've been with her and their family. She had little time with her mother and now she could only visit her grave. If she was strong like Paul who could deal with everything with ease, then perhaps, she could've made it easier for her family and protect them. She shook her head and no longer hesitated and was filled with resolve to try and get stronger from now on. She nodded her head and said. " Okay, I understand."
Paul: " now let's just wait and see what king Neptune's punishment for Hody would be."
After getting more information about the reasons why Hody killed Queen Otohime. Furthermore, as more information was being pulled away from Hody, Fukabushi asked, " Hody, why do you have such hatred for humans. What have they done to you?"
Sure there may have been still some humans that tried to snatch away mermaids and mermen to be sold as slaves but with whitebeard's protection, the rate of slave traders coming into the island has decreased by a large margin.
Hody: " nothing at all."
Hearing the answer from Hody, the whole royal family was greatly surprised. To take actions against their own queen, it delayed their petition to establish Fishman Island above ground for several years. There were also many Fish-men who holds grudges because of this incident, but what was the reason? No personal hatred was involved in this scheme at all? Hody explained that they were chosen by the heavens to punish humans. What kind of insane logic at all.
King Neptune became even more enraged and sentences him to the harshest punishment and called for public execution.
A day later, Hody was seen in a kneeling position and there was a crowd of fish-men citizens gathered around. They received urgent and mind blowing news about a sudden execution of a Fishman.
King Neptune and the royal family came from behind Hody. I will state this person's crime myself. King Neptune read Hody's crime and to further solidify his statement, he showed the island the trial that happened in the throne room with a recording of a video den den mushi.
Hearing and seeing the statements by Hody, the whole island was in an uproar and hated statements towards Hody for killing Queen Otohime.
King Neptune: " SILENCE! You have all heard and seen his crimes against this country. Queen Otohime, my late wife, she was trying her best to bring us out into the world on the surface. We were on our way to negotiating with the world government above, but because of Hody, he put this country on a hold for going above and exposed our children to humans that will only cause us harm where there are also humans that can help us and create friendly relations with. From Hody we know that there are both good and bad fish-men and it can also be the same for humans. For this crimes alone, I sentence him to an execution, if there are any objections, speak now."
Seeing no response to Hody's execution, " Very well then, I will execute him now."
Just as King Neptune, raised his trident to execute Hody, two figures ran out from the crowd and dashed towards King Neptune trying to stop them.
Paul: " Daz, Sera."
Paul saw who those two figures were. The two were the octopus swordsman and the fish-man that carried the large mallet. Paul had told Robin about the poneglyph that was located near the grave, so she stayed behind and would come after she had read it.
Daz and Sera rushed out to greet the two opponents and knocked them backwards. The two of them were pretty strong among the fish-man people, however, they haven't yet taken the energy steroid as Hody didn't steal the yet, their strength was only above average and was not nearly as strong as the two who had trained their bodies and was also trained in haki.
King Neptune: " Who are you to interfere!?"
Dosun: " Hody's punishment should not be this harsh, instead of being executed, he should've been exiled or put in jail."
King Neptune: " Impossible, what if he causes even more trouble down the road, if that happens then those lives are on me for unleashing such a monster into the sea. I would not tolerate that and cause our reputation to go down." " If you still wish to interfere then you will also be punished."
Dosun: " Hmph."
Paul looked at sera and Daz, " Just don't kill them."
Daz and Sera quickly went forwards and knocked them out before they cause even more trouble at the scene.
King Neptune looked at Hody one last time with frustration and sadness. Although he does not really want to look like a King that executes his fellow citizens, if Hody is left alone, he may cause even more trouble down the road and if he is put into prison and gets out, it will have the same result and Hody will have hatred towards his fellow fish-man people. Before Hody gets his chance to cause more havoc and harm he will do his best and end it right at now.
King Neptune raises his trident and finally brings it down onto Hody's neck, killing him on the spot. Everyone who watched this, took a deep breath and was silent as they watched their king take a life. But they also knew he had no choice. Hody killed Queen Otohime and blamed it on humans. Hody had an ambition that will also bring harm to Fish-man Island and its people and would perhaps cause havoc on the surface.
King Neptune: " Take his body away and bury it. Paul, come with me, we need to talk."
Paul nodded his head as he followed along after King Neptune.
Arriving in the palace King Neptune sat on his throne as frowned for a few minutes.
King Neptune: " How did you know about Hody and how did you know that Shirahoshi!?"
Paul: " I know it's hard to believe but I wish nothing but the best for you and your people. Although I can't say the exact reason but you can say that I can somewhat see the future of numerous possible events."
King Neptune: " If we had left Hody alone and had not noticed... what did you see?"
Paul: " I saw Hody gather up numerous fish-men and human slave pirates against you. I also saw a large ship falling down onto the island."
King Neptune face sunk as he heard the 'future' that Paul had said. King Neptune knew exactly what the giant ship was, Noah. The Ship of Promise that was created during the void century. Since Paul already knew this much and helped them from this crisis, King Neptune gained full trust of Paul at this moment.
King Neptune: "... I see. Then I should be thanking you. Not only have you saved us from this future crisis, you also took care of Vander Decken who was continuously harassing Shirahoshi, now she can roam freely around the island and interact with everyone. I don't know how I should thank you."
Paul: " There's nothing that you need to thank me for. However, I do want to say this, do you truly think it is wise to go into the surface? At least at this moment?"
King Neptune: " What do you mean?"
Paul: " Shirahoshi, or should I say Poseidon one of the ancient weapons."
King Neptune: "hmmm... you even know about this."
Paul: " Yes, however, I do not want this power, but should I say that I want to protect it from the hands of the world government or anyone else that seeks this power."
King Neptune: " I see what you mean but what do you expect me to do. It is hard enough as it to protect my kingdom from slave traders. If it wasn't for whitebeard and his flag, things would be a lot worse."
Paul: " I'm not saying that to not trust the world government or anything like that, I just think that you should be more cautious and gather up more strength. There is only little trouble now because Fish-man Island is 10,000 deep underwater, if it rises to the surface, the attention that your island may get may be a little more than what you can currently handle. Whitebeard although still strong, he is getting old."
King Neptune: " Hmm. I see, I will take your words into consideration. In the meantime, gather your crew I have called for a certain person that I would like to introduce you to, through him, I would like to find a way to communicate with you more about the future."
Paul: " That sounds good, it will also take us sometime to gather supplies and other things."
