Luffy introduced himself, " Hello my name is Monkey D. Luffy and i was hoping to buy a ship from you. "
Kaya smiled, " I'm Kaya and sorry for the inconvenience. But ship..are you a pirate! "
Luffy nodded, " Yes, i am a pirate but i don't have any crew members yet. But you don't have to worry i am not here for any extortion, i will buy the ship. " Hearing him Merry became worried whereas a dangerous glint passed through Kaya's eyes.
Kaya asked impatiently, " Then can you please tell me about your adventures? " she had literally stars in her eyes.
" Okay but about the ship..." Kaya interrupted him and ordered Merry to repair the boat as soon as possible. Luffy sighed and started telling her some stories while Merry took his leave.
Kaya quickly emerged in his stories. Luffy also told her some cruel facts about the outer world. Luffy also told her that he could cure her and indirectly hinted her the reason behind her illness.
But to his surprise Kaya already knew about Kuro. Although she didn't know his reasons behind it, she was sure of him as the culprit behind her illness.
But she couldn't mention it to anyone as she knew Kuro was very powerful. He would kill anyone to silence them. So she kept quiet and didn't tell anyone about this.
Kaya also told him about her dream to become the best doctor and her recent preparations regarding it. After spending some time with Luffy she started enjoying Luffy's presence.
" Hey Kaya, do you want to travel the world with me! Then you don't have to listen someone else's adventures, you will enjoy your own adventure. " Luffy asked with a hopeful look.
At first Kaya was happy about the idea but very quickly she turned sad again, " Can i really travel with you? I am very weak and will be nothing but burden to you. "
Luffy understood that he had give her a final push, so he added, " Besides you can also fulfill your dream of becoming the best doctor if you travel with me. "
After thinking for a moment Kaya opened her mouth, " But if i go with you, can Usopp also come with us? " she asked with a lot of expectations.
Luffy gave a awkward cough, " Cough..cough, i have to think about that. I would like to meet him first. " hearing his reply Kaya nodded like a chicken.
" Oh, by the way can you tell me a suitable place to spend the night! " asked Luffy. Kaya interjected him, " Why don't you stay in our mansion. There are plenty of vacant rooms. "
Luffy nodded, " Okay then, its getting late. So you rest here and i am leaving. "
Just as he was about to leave the room, Merry rushed into the room and announced a really shocking news.
Usopp was found dead near the sea shore. Hearing the news Kaya became devastated while Luffy was shocked by the sudden turn of events.
Luffy just patted her head while she cried her heart content. After her crying was over she became adamant to see him, so Luffy just sighed and complied her request to come with him.

When they arrived at the spot, there was already a huge crowd. Luffy helped her to travel through the crowd. Usopp's corpse was in a very bad condition.
Luffy concluded that Usopp was brutally tortured before his death. But when he saw the sign of claw marks on his body, Luffy instantly guessed the culprit behind the murder.
It was Captain Kuro, because Kuro had a fetish of using knives as a claw during fights.
' Did he vent his anger on Usopp! ' Thought Luffy.
While on there way back Luffy consoled her in various ways in order to calm her down.

Night time.
Luffy brought Kaya from her room and hid with her behind the stairs.
" Luffy, why are we hiding here. " asked Kaya. Luffy hushed her, " Sshhh... don't make any noise. Wait and see you will know very soon. "
Merry was cleaning the dining hall, when Kuro came back.
" Klahadore( Kuro's alternative name ) san, you are here. " Merry said while continuing his work.
Kuro asked in a casual tone, " Where is that runt and what is young miss doing? " Merry replied, " Young miss is sleeping in her room and our guest is also resting in the guest room. " Then Merry told him about the death of Usopp.
Kuro loosened his tie and said, " Oh, what a shame. But still he was a real troublemaker. "
Then Kuro saw a present placed on the table, he picked it up and asked, " Merry this is..."
" Oh, that was a present form young miss for your anniversary. Your glasses seems to be quite old, so she had them custom made for you. " Merry said with great admiration.
Kuro just chuckled, " Oh, i don't know about tonight but tomorrow will be definitely a day to remember. " Then he threw the gift box and stepped on it.
Luffy had a doubt, " Kaya you know his identity very well, then why did you give him such a present! "
" Nothing special it was just a custom of this mantion. If i suddenly start behaving strangely, then he would have really killed us all. That's why i gave him this present like every year. " Replied Kaya with some bitterness in her voice.
