Chapter 8: A Strange Girl 2
She paid respect to the Moon Priestess as she politely took the basket from her hands and looked at the small infant in a daze. She never saw someone who could be so cute!
Covered in a blanket, the small baby who already opens its eyes looked at her without wavering. Those big bright nine colored gem-like eyes stares at her innocently, those smooth and tender soft hands seems to reach out to her as her heart softened
She couldn't help but pinch its cheeks as she softly giggles, even her son who she had given birth with couldn't compare to this child she held in her arms.
Yue Lin looked at their interactions with a complicated look as she didn't know what to describe her feelings.
Longing for her child and jealousy...
In order to avoid this feelings, she could only turn her eyes away as she coldly said to them "The matters here is settled, let's go!" She ordered
They left the forest as the Great Spirit Beasts Forest retain its calmness. Two shadows soundlessly appears not long after those people from the Moon God Temple left the forest.
"I did what you told me, would you let go of me now?" A voice asked in helplessness, if the Supreme Moon Pontiff were here then she would definitely recognized the owner of this voice, the Moon Dragon King!
"En.. I have already achieve my goals, you can have that basket, you have suffered grave injuries and hurt your origins, although it can alleviate your injuries, you still need to enter seclusion to heal it" A cold indifferent voice sounded out from an another person who was cloaked in green
"Let me ask, your not a human either aren't you?" A young man in his thirties asked with his eye catching vertical pupil, clearly not human, staring at the cloaked person with a cunning light flashes through his eyes
The cloaked person glance at the young man with her nine colored gem-like eyes staring at him indifferently, he felt shaken as he felt that he had been completely seen through
"Knowing too much will kill you, Little Dragon" she said with indifference. "You had great authority in this forest right? Then could you help me look after my descendant?"
The Moon Dragon King stayed silent before suddenly asking "Which descendant?"
"The one with the nine colored eyes" she said and left
Five Years Later...
Bai Ling was a woman who had a son and a husband, five years ago, she received another child for her to raise, she wanted to refuse but it was an order from the Supreme Moon Pontiff so she could only comply and raise it with her husband. When she return to her own courtyard, she was be dazzled on how heavenly beautiful the child is, thinking up to this, she can't come up with a good name so she came and ask the Moon Priestess for an advice
"Call her, Yue Guang!"
The Moon Priestess said after giving it a thought but she were stunned, to have a surname as Yue, does this mean that...
"Don't think too much about it, I just like the name Yue Guang, like a Moonlight beautiful yet full of loneliness" Bai Ling immediately understood her meaning but did not bother to ask for more
Yue Guang was a strange child, ever since she was an infant, she was very well behave and always sleep a lot, very obedient and very smart, she loved to observe things but she lack the liveliness of a child. She watch her grow up and not an anomaly has ever happen, she was very obedient child who always comply to rules and she would always stares at the window, she doesn't speak out much, she's not as energetic as other kids who would go out and play, she rarely go out outside
The only playmate she got was her own son, Gu Ai Li who is two years older than Yue Guang and a boy who just can't sit still and always causes troubles in the house or the Temple and would often had a headache if the situation got worse but after all he was still a child after all abd she could only scold him and punish him lightly. Compared to her son who was like a devil who would wreak havoc everywhere, Yue Guang was such an lazy angel who would often had a dazed expression and who would often slept the longest.
The mischievous Gu Ai Li stopped being so naughty the day he hit the age of six and he awaken his martial spirit with spirit power rank 8 and began focusing on his spirit cultivation and went to a school with close relationships with the Moon God Temple and the once mischievous Gu Ai Li became a little cold and mature.
Bai Ling sighed as she watch the kids grow up for a whole five years and she had grown fond of Yue Guang who were still as lazy as hell, she treated her like her own daughter and now, she was six years old who would soon awaken her martial spirit and undergo a martial spirit awakening ceremony with other children who step at the age of six. She was pretty curious of what her martial spirit is, after all, she is connected to that woman of whom the Priestess sworn to death to hunt her down
"Mom, do I have to? Can we just do it next year? I'm tired.." Yue Guang said reluctantly and she yawned
"Of course you have to! Don't you want to become a spirit master like your elder brother? This is your only chance!" Bai Ling was getting a headache coming along with this upcoming problem.
"I refuse! Too lazy, I have to walk several miles away to reach the destination, I'm too tired, why don't you let me sleep mom? And besides, I'm not interested in being a spirit master..." She explained as she started to doze off the table
"That's a bit of a stretch! A mile? That's just several village away! If you're that lazy, I can take you there, I have free time after all.." Bai Ling was exasperated
