Chapter 8: CHAPTER 8
The sound of heavy footsteps filled the palace, as Priscilla climbed the stairs hurriedly. For the first time in years, she dreaded the distance between her room and her mum's room, maybe later in the day, she would have the maids move her belongings to the room next to her mum's room.
" They found the girl" She said aloud as she entered her mum's room, opening the door wide.
" they did?" her mum who was stunned by her sudden outbreak asked.
" hmmm" she mumbled, laughed, and fell on the bed bouncing and rolling happily
" I guess our biggest problem is about to be taken care of" Matilda, who is busy admiring the golden necklace she just acquired in front of the large mirror that stood in a corner in the room said " isn't this beautiful?" she said caressing the necklace with her palm
" what can I say mum? because very soon you will be wearing golds that are more beautiful than this, very soon, you will become a queen mother, though you are already a queen"
" I didn't enjoy that privilege for long though, since your father passed away early" she said and they both laughed.
"Leonard and Fredrick did the job faster than expected" Matilda said and stood from the chair, facing her daughter
"who doesn't want to be the queen's father in-law?"
"right my dear, right. So what do you plan to do with the girl?"
" Have her head brought to me, then I will show it to Antonio and the rest of the lords who doesn't want me on the throne"
" then, you will seat on the throne and the people of Amaris will bow at your feet"
" I love you mum" she said and laughed.
" don't you think we should do something about Antonio, he might ruin our plan"
" oh mum trust me I have invited him over, and I
have instructed the maid. Also, I invited the women over, they should be here soon"
" okay, I hope the maid doesn't make silly mistakes" she said and they laughed again " Where is your sister?" she asked
" Caroline? She went hunting"
" this early? that girl" she said

Mariana turned restlessly on the bed, she kept rolling from one edge to another.Smiling, she was indeed having a good dream. In her dream, she is married to Damon and they have three kids together, and they are living happily, but that might not be her faith in this world. The noise of chattering plate woke her up, above all, interrupted her lovely dream. she grinned angrily and left for the kitchen, curious to know what happened.
When she reached the kitchen, Damon and Jack were arguing, and a shattered plate was on the floor. Mariana watched Jack with keen interest, he spoke like human, behave like human and did everything like human. Maybe he was human that was turn into a parrot by a witch, she thought, she had read things like that in books.
" " you both should keep quiet" Mariana shouted, irritatedly. Damon turned towards her and looked up at her with his blue eyes. Mariana met his eyes, but there was something different about it, it didn't hold any emotion , like he was angry she shut him up.
" don't shut me up like that again, I hate it" he said and began cleaning the shattered plate
" what big deal is in me shutting you up, you do that to me all the time" she said, offended
" I cloth you, I feed you and I shelter you, so I can do anything I like to you, but I chose not to"
how can you be this mean, it isn't that I wish to be under your mercy, I just found myself in the situation" she said, as tears began to stream down her face" Damon stared at her in awe, suprised as to how easily she cries.
" I just don't like it when someone shut me up"
" but you shut people up?" she asked amidst tears
" enough Mariana, lets forget about that and stop crying"
" who made me cry?" she said and left the kitchen angrily.
