Chapter 29: Left them in awe.

"So, tell us what we're dealing with Drystan."

Drystan was currently standing in the middle of the GPD about to give a report on what he noticed during the bank robbery.

Commissioner James Gordon at his side ready for his report.

"Alright guys, you all know me so I wont beat around the bush and will get right into the details.

Drystan turned and turned on a large tv screen with paused footage from the robbery on it.

"About an hour ago at 10:13 a.m. Seven men entered Gotham City Bank with the intent to rob it."

"And rob they did as not even ten minutes later at 10:22 a.m. we see them leave the bank through the back door cash in hand."

Drystan hit play and the footage of the robbers entering and clearing the bank with trained precision before pausing it again.

"The Perpetrators of this robbery were clearly trained so we are looking for people that either is in or was in the military or maybe even law enforcement."

The police around the room all took on an uncomfortable look hearing Drystan say that it might be law enforcement.

Drystan seeing this clarified "If its law enforcement then it would have been Swat or something similar, not ordinary detectives and policemen."

"All seven men were equipped with m16a4 assault rifles, standard issue for the the U.S. marine corps."

"So when looking for the perps, ex marines would be a good place to start."

Drystan once again hit play and the video showed the civilians and himself getting undressed.

"This is efficiency. They had everyone in the bank undress simply because it the quickest and most efficient way to make sure that nobody was armed as well as a way to keep everyone under control."

"Nobody feels confident enough to charge a man with gun whilst in their underwear, everyone just feels exposed and vulnerable."

He then played the video the rest of the way through until they were locked in the vault.

"Locking us in the vault was keep us from alerting the police so that they could get a good head start, simple as that. "

"They then exited the building through the back and entered a previously prepared van and made their escape."

Drystan scanned the room before starting to grin.

"But fortunately they made a couple big mistakes during their heist that should allow us to find them pretty quickly. Then it will be up to you guys to find the evidence to put them away."

One of the policemen chose this moment to speak up about something that they all wanted to know.

"No offense Drystan, we all know your good at what you do. But your an ex lab geek, not a crime scene analyst, so why are you giving this briefing?"

Policemen around the room nodded as they knew that Drystan was someone who worked in a lab, not in the field.

Commissioner Gordon stepped in to quelle their worries and said "Drystan worked in the lab because that's were he wanted to be, not because he isn't suitable for other work. In fact I asked Drystan to work in the field often when he still worked here but he refused as he preferred to stick to the science of it."

Drystan didn't reply further and just continued his briefing. He rewound the video on the tape until just before the robbers entered the building.

"There, you see that." he said as he paused the video.

He then rewound it slightly and played it again pointing at a bank teller.

"When the robbers entered the bank with the guns this woman was already standing by the silent alarm. All she had to do was push it and in a few minutes the police would have arrived."

"But instead she just stood there until she was escorted into the main lobby by the robbers."

"In emergency situations like this one people commonly look towards the person closest to the button to push it rather than making the effort to push it themselves themselves."

"This applies to other emergency situations as well as people always expect the closest person to do something rather than do it themselves."

"And then something strange happened with the same woman a few minutes later."

Fast-forwarding to the clip he was talking about before hitting play.

On the screen they could see a woman in her underwear be approached by a man in a black mask, the man pointing his gun at her, whispering in her ear, her head nodding frantically before she was taken to open the vault by four armed men.

"Why isn't she panicking? This is a pretty woman with a stable job, yet when she is undressed and four men point guns at her and lead her to a back room, there isn't really any panic."

"So you believe that this woman was in on it?" One of the policeman asked.

"We have three women police officers here. Let me ask the three of you how you would act if you were pointed guns at by several men, forced to strip, and then led to a private area where no one else could see you? Correct me if I'm wrong but you're going to do more than just nod your head."

The women all agreed as any woman would start imagining things and would have a more serious reaction than the one in the video.

"So look for a group a military men that have some sort of relationship with this woman and you will find your perpetrators."

After he finished speaking the police got busy and in a few hours the robbers were caught with the money in hand and Drystan finally went home to tell the girls why they lost their home.

This chapters sole purpose was to show that even though he doesn't always say it, he is a very attentive and is prone to noticing the small details.

It also shows that the Mc is smart as I feel like I've only said he's smart and haven't really show it.

I was originally going to have Drystan give a full profile of each robbers based on what he noticed during the robbery but the chapter would be at least 3000 words long if I did that so I just did this.

Anyways Thanks for reading.
