Chapter 10: Red Dust city

(A/N I know the name sucks my bad)

Diesel POV

When we sailed into a port with a navy base sailing a known pirate ship I realized I probably should have sent the merchants first so they could confirm my story. I forgot so I did the next best thing, I started waving the two pirate corpses around till I sensed someone looking at me through binoculars. Then I just held them still so they could identify them and know that at least the most dangerous part of the crew had been taken care of. After that I had them sail toward the Marine ship that was coming to meet me when they thought I was a pirate.

"Oi! Where do I turn in this guys corpse? Also can you let your little Marine buddies know that I'm gonna be using this ship and not to shoot me since I'm not a pirate?" I personally thought this was a wonderful greeting as it was short and to the point, however the Marine Captain just stared at me slack jawed. "Oi. Are you gonna answer me?"

This seemed to snap him out it because he immediately started yapping in a rather annoying manner. "Halt! We must search this ship for more pirates, and how do we know your not a pirate who just mutinied!?" It was obvious this guy was gonna be a pain in the ass.

I looked at the captain then looked at the corpses and looked back again. "You can search the ship I dont care but since I single handedly took out the crew I'm claiming the ship so I can sail around and find more bounties. As for whether I'm a pirate or not just ask the merchants I saved earlier, they're on that ship that just sailed in. In the meantime your guys can come over and search the ship, I'll wait."

The captain was obviously not satisfied but sent his men over to check every corner of the ship. I was rather curious what they'd find as I hadn't left the deck to check out my ship yet. They pushed around and broke a few things looking for stuff but all they found was the belongings of the crew until they got to the cargo hold. "Captain the hold is half full of loot!!" Was yelled from below and caused this captain guy to look at me suspiciously again.

"Do you honestly think I would let your men search the ship if I was trying to hide anything? I haven't left the deck since I got on earlier so I don't know what's here. Just take it and show me where I can turn in the bounties I'm tired of dealing with you."

This seemed to make the guy less annoying as it made him shut up. Shortly after I pulled into port and the marines unloaded the stolen stuff I was shown where to turn in bounties and given twenty million beli as the captain was fifteen and the first mate five. After I asked for directions to the area where the shipwrights were I immediately went there and enlisted them to do the changes I wanted. If they did a good job, cleaned it, replaced all the beds and stuff with new items, and did it all in three days I'd give them ten million beli. This naturally got them all excited and they immediately started.

After that I decided to explore while Fenrir was still taking a nap. I found a place that had fishing gear and actually was able to find a set I could use which was cool. Then it was off to find a chain to use and then recruit some people to sail me around.

Getting a chain the size I needed took a while but eventually I got it done and I gotta admit I was excited. I decided I wouldn't fully imbue anything until I have it made by Vegapunk as it definitely couldn't hurt to have a better starting product. Even if it didn't help much it it couldn't hurt so it's better to be safe than sorry. Eventually if everything works out I'll have a hellship, hellcycle, hellchains, and a hellshotgun that have all been designed and made by Vegapunk (except making the ship which will be made at water seven.)

I should be able to use my flames through damn near anything without fully imbuing it but as I never tried I just wasn't sure. I'll just have to figure it out later I guess.

Three days passed and I managed to find seven honest crew and a chef that was actually really good much to my suprise. Now most wouldn't know if they could trust someone right after meeting but since I can read minds I can get a good feel for whether someone would betray me or not. They were all rather weak but I wasnt gonna ask them to fight so it's all good.

Since I got word the ship overhaul was done I sent the new chef out to buy provisions for us and told him to meet us when he was done. When we got to the ship you couldn't really tell much had been done from the outside other than the cannon ports had disappeared. I decided we didn't need them and getting rid of them made a lot more room for other things, like the huge (for a ship this size) kitchen. The hall ways and two of the bedrooms were taller and larger so I could have one as could Fenrir.

The ship went from being able to carry forty crew, and the bigger rooms for the captain and first mate, to twenty crew plus the other two. This ship really was the perfect size for what I was gonna be doing for the next few years. Most would have needed a brig but since I was only going to take out evil I didn't need to be nice and I'll just chain them to the mast to let them reflect on there actions as they bake in the sun.

I thanked and paid the shipwrights and we all got settled in till the chef got to the ship. After we all got on board we gathered on the deck to hear what everyone had heard last night as I had sent them each to a different bar in town to listen in on the gossip that passes through such places. Now most of it was worthless but there was a piece of news I was very interested in. "So someone said that all the big name pirates are gathering together in one place? Did they say what for?"

That would be really convenient if I didn't have to chase them all over the south so this was good news but what came up next was even better. "They said something about selling some special kind of wood they stole from a Briss kingdom treasure ship to but I've never heard of special wood before."

Well that's a suprise, if it's what I think it is this is great. Its damn near impossible to find and its ridiculously expensive when found. If its really Adam wood then I doubt itll have enough to build the ship I want as itll dwarf even the moby dick. However itll be good to start stockpiling asap since it's so hard to find, that said it will be hard to store.

Whatever that's a problem for future me. "Alright boys set a course for this island they're gonna meet at, we've got a party to crash."
