Chapter 3: Welcome
Team 4290 started to brace for an impact. The pupils on board all looked in amazement, full of ambition to one another. After 15 minutes, they had landed in the Amazon! Ophelia was the first to get her stuff but Xander was the first off ready to see this world. The crew grabbed any luggage and directed them to the women waiting for them.
"Hello Ma'am.. Sorry for the inconvenience but may I ask, do you go by the name Soraia, the women helping out these students? Why, may you ask? Well I am here to coordinate the flight attendant, Mrs. Mango and I will be aboard their plane!" She questioned, begging the flight attendant to stand at the landing pad.
"Erm.. Yes, I do not speak fluent in English because of my Brazilian accent, you understand?" questioned Soraia intensely, filling her mind with dense worries.
"Course, the kids are yours, see you!" giggled the cabin crew.
"Hey young ones, I'm Soraia all you need to know is I'm a wild explorer... me?" she whispered.
"I've been exploring these wild forests for years since I was an infant. In these scenes, I made friends with children who work with me. like you!" Soraia said, trying to make a good impression.
"By my very own half I have a creation, I created you your very own hut! Next door to my hut... It is vastly different to mine though, I made it more English looking just for you, my friends said you will enjoy home more", as she beamed on and on.
"Don't be afraid to ask for anything, we are just next door", she added without thinking.
"In fact, there are markets; But... DO NOT pass the natural line of business and life with nature and power", she whispered with a dense shiver flowing through her.
"Please follow me to your new home! Make sure to remember to bring stuff with you", Soraia said while walking across a small bridge of rocks plotted across a river leading to a small boat.
All the children followed and lightly leaped into the boat, when Soraia replied to a particularly strange voice coming from the behind.
"Hello Ophelia, you look familiar. Have you been here before?"
"Once I was 6, 11 years ago, why?" Ophelia queried.
Ophelia took a deep thought for a while... Who could she be?!
Then... it finally came to her.
"You remember me, we play pirates on waterslides!" Soraia exclaimed with cheer, giggling a lot.
"Yes!", giggled Ophelia.
After a miniscule 10-minute boat trip, they started to slowly arrive at the first stop… The most known, majestic and ambitious land in the Amazon, the home of the butterfly. It was a stunning place where l50 species of butterflies gathered and hid in sage trees making a pattern of beauty for the tourist stop for people visiting the captivating discovery.
With a huge variety of butterflies, with a population of 150 species, this Amazon stopping point was the place where they all wanted to stay.
"We shall camp here for the time being, it's getting gloomier the second'', Soraia informed them while hopping out of the boat. Expeditiously, Soraia ran to the nearest town of huts where she got resources and began building a camp. All the students assist in the making of their camp. Little Miss Perfect Ophelia took notes for her club, along with Camelia. Camelia shared her notes with the others, sneaking in a couple of Ophelia's ideas. After some quick stories on the Amazon start Soraia shared a story from her childhood. "When I was younger the towns were twice as miniature and still as fun. My best friend and I were playing outside when it started to rain so much, we couldn't make it inside. We ran inside the nearest out there. After the storm passed we headed back outside to gather our toys when the biggest butterfly ever was there. In the Amazon, travelling is harder but you love life when you start it!" Soraia told everyone.
