Chapter 3: Chapter One page Three

"Austin, honey? It's time to wake up. We made it." Dr. Harrison said placing a hand on their shoulder.

Waking up, they stretched their arms and smiled at her with their eyes still closed. "Do we leave our stuff in the car, or take in?"

"Leave it in the car, we have to grab your remaining items from your room and then discharge you from the hospital and put you in my care. I have a few things I want to discuss a few things with y'all and your primary doctor."

"Nothing bad I hope." Austin said

"Oh no. Nothing bad at all. Well let's get inside and we can continue there." She said getting out of her car, running to the passenger side to help them out. They gave a nod as they placed their feet out of the car. The ground felt odd to them since they had better shoes on their feet, they were used to the slippers the hospital provided. Standing up they shut the door behind them, they followed Dr.Harrison back into the hospital. They looked at the ground as they walked past the other patients bedroom.

"Why don't you go pack and I'll go start your discharge paperwork." Dr. Harrison said with a smile. Austin nodded walking back into their room, where they were greeted by another patient. Their friend, Lyla standing by the bed. She has been there just as long as they were, she finally turn towards them and gave a weak smile.

"Rumor has it, you are finally leaving." She said rubbing the back of her neck.

"Um, yeah. I'm actually packing our stuff now." Austin commented walking towards the closet. He couldn't look at her without breaking his heart.

She laughed, "Will you come to visit at least?"

"Of course we'll visit. You're our best friend. We will of course come visit." He said finally turning towards her. He could see the tears starting to form in her eyes. He walked over to her and reached out a hand. She quickly pulled him into an embrace, crying softly.

"Don't forget about me, okay?" She said in-between tears. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her into a tight hug before letting go. She wiped her face and laughed. "Best write those letters I enjoy."

"Always." He said with a weak sad smile. He jumped when he heard a knock at the door. He turned and saw Dr. Harrison.

"Oh hi Dr. Harrison." Him and Lyla said at the same time, making them laugh.

"Hello you two. What's going on in here?" She asked walking in with a handful of paperwork in her hands.

"I was saying goodbye to them." Lyla said, her eyes shiny with tears.

"Goodbye? You don't have to say goodbye."

"We don't?" They said in unison.

Dr. Harrison smiled, "No, you don't. I know I probably should have consulted you on it Lyla but I wanted it to be a surprise for you. You have done so well, that you and them are coming to live with me, so that you are still under the eyes of help but have freedom."

Lyla looked at her then at Austin, her eyes were wide her mouth open from shock. "Y-you're lying." She said in disbelief.

Dr. Harrison laughed, "I have both of your's discharge papers and consent to take you guys back to my home." She said laying down the papers. Austin and Lyla rushed to the table reading through the paperwork. Tears fell Lyla's face as she quickly turned to Austin and tackled him with a hug. He grunted in response but held her close, he closed his eyes as he realized he finally let out a breathe. His head mates saying thank you to Dr. Harrison in the headspace because they weren't going to lose another person that meant so much to them.

She finally let go before she turned to Dr. Harrison wiping her face. "D-do you have a pen?" She asked. Dr. Harrison smiled as she reached in her pockets grabbing two pens. She handed them both one each, them taking them and going through the paperwork one by one and signing their names. After careful inspection of the paperwork,Lyla handed Dr. Harrison the papers.

"I have to go pack." She said with glee. She ran out of the room, and went to hers. Her heart beating fast in her chest. "I can't believe this is happening." She thought. She moved to her closet grabbing the clothes she had brought with her stuffing them in a bag. She sat down on the bed, clenching the letters she was given by Austin and the rest of the system. She still hoped she would get letters while in their new home. She loved receiving them, even if they were close by.

Austin let out a laugh, "When did you decide to take Lyla with us? Not that I'm complain, We were kinda hoping she was coming with us."

"I decided after talking to the front nurse. She kept talking about how y'all were really close, and how you keep giving her letters." She said with a gentle smile.

"Thank you." He said, looking down. "She really means a lot to us. I honestly don't think any of us would have handled being away from her for long."

"I understand, Have you finished packing?"

"Uh I think so."

"Okay, well lets get going. I want to reach my house before dark. But We have one more thing to do before that."

He gave her a questionable look,"What is that?"

"I want to speak with you and your doctor about seeing if you guys are cleared to worked when you are ready too."

He stared at her with wide eyes, "Do you think we are ready for work, We barely know how to function other than inside these walls."

She shook her head,"No Of course not. I want to speak with you and your doctor about your physical health. Mentally I know you aren't. We will work on that."

He gave out a relieved sigh, "Okay, that makes me feel better at least. When do we talk to our doctor?"

"He's actually waiting for us now. I'll get Lyla and we'll head down to his office." She told him. He gave a nod, as he looked away from her. He sat down as their mind started to race, their breathing picked up some. They covered their ears as noise sounded ten times louder to them, their vision darkening. They fell limp on the table, sweat on their face. Their breathing had become shallow.
