Chapter 37: We Have Donors
Yanmei was shocked to hear this. She never heard of his mother. Nixxi never said anything about their parents or that she was a vampire. Well, Yanmei can't complain about it because she kept secret from them too. She should afraid of vampires. She heard lots of stories about them. But she wasn't. Because she knew Nixxi and Lu Lijun can't hurt her... at least not until they know her secret.
She looked at him questioningly "Your mother?"
Lu Lijun nodded "My mother was a witch. She make us immortal" then he chuckled humorlessly "blood sucking monsters".
Yanmei looked at her hand and murmured "I don't know witches, vampires are real. I thought you guys exist only in books".
"Not only Vampires and witches" he looked at the dead body and then her "But werewolves are real too. I think you know that now".
She stared at her hand but didn't say anything. What would she say? ' That yes I know about werewolves and I know Vampires and werewolves are enemies. And yes, I am a werewolf. I didn't know I am a werewolf. I was raised as a human but recently I discovered that I was a werewolf. And I killed another werewolf and run away from my pack. They send this werewolf to kill me. Btw, Thank you for saving me. And I know if you know about my identity you'll kill me'.
She took a deep breath, no she can't said anything to him. She thanked her mysterious ring in her heart for hiding her identity.
"I can understand if you are afraid of me now. Humans are paranoid and they always afraid of unknown things. But my sister is innocent and she care for you" His voice brought her back from her thoughts but before she said anything he continued "Don't hurt her. If you hurt her I'll destroy you. And no one protect you from me".
She just stared at him. Unable to say anything. When Lijun warned her before she take those warning lightly. But now she know that he was a vampire King. And she was a new baby werewolf. She didn't know about her power. She didn't have any chance against him.
She looked at the dead body and a shiver run threw her spin.
She would not using her luck now. Beside she had no plan to hurt Nixxi and him. Finally, she got a friend but now she know that friend and her brother were her clan's enemy. Good thing they didn't know about her and she had no plan to told them her secret.
Lijun didn't like her silence. He can guess that she was afraid of him now. But he didn't want her to be afraid of him.
He took a deep breath but didn't look at her "Thousand years ago My father was a king and he married my mother because she was a witch. She helped father in the war and father gave all witches protection. Witches were very powerful in that time alongside with werewolves".
"What about vampires? They were not powerful in that time?"
He chuckled humorlessly "In that time there was no vampire. We are the first vampires".
Her eyes were wide. She thought he was a vampire and like her clan, Vampires choose him to be their King. But she never guess that he was the first vampire.
Looking her shocking face he smirked "Surprise?"
She blinked "very. So you guys were humans then".
"Not really. I mean yes we were humans but we practiced witch craft too because our mother was a witch. But witches are humans too. They are powerful because they practice witch craft. Anyway, in that time werewolves tortured everyone. Witches stand against them but they were nasty creatures. Both hated each other. Werewolves knew that the queen was a witch and because of her we were witch too. And King protect witches. That's why they attacked our kingdom. They killed not only soldiers but civilians too. Mother tried but still can't stop those nasty creatures. At last father asked mother to make him immortal. He didn't want to die. At first mother didn't agree because that was very dark magic and she didn't know the consequences. But she loved us and can't saw anyone of us hurt or die. That's why she used dark magic help of her family's power. She belong to one of the powerful witches's family".
He stared at the dark sky for sometime. Yanmei understood he remembered his past and she didn't want to disturb him. That's why she keep her mouth shut.
When he looked at her, she saw emptiness in his eyes. He continued "Every magic has it's consequences. And dark magic has dangerous consequences. Mother made us immortal but in that process we lost our humanity. We become Blood sucking monster. Powerful than witches and werewolves. No one can stand against us. We kill lots of werewolves.....and witches.....and other humans".
She narrowed her eyes "Why witches? I mean your mother was witch and she helped you. And humans? They were the victims".
He looked away from her. it's look like he was ashamed of himself and felt guilty. But he continued "Witches are humans too. And we can't control our thirst of blood . And when someone turned into vampire they can't control their thirst. But after long practice we successfully control our thirst."
She hesitated "So, now you guys drink only animal's blood?"
He narrowed his eyes "We are different from yours books Kitten. And we don't drink animal's blood. I love animal's they are innocent. We have donors who give us their blood and we give them money. Beside If any vampire drink animal blood, he'll be very weak. That's why we prefer donors. And we stock their blood in freezer. When we are out of stock, We inform them. If we need blood urgently we have to pay them double".
"Wow" she was shocked know those information. In her clan werewolves hunt for their food. Though they eat vegetables too. She eat vegetables.
"I thought you guys hunt for blood. I mean I didn't think you guys are so....hm..."
"Civilized?" he completed her sentence. Then he said with amused tone "Once upon a time we hunt for blood. But now time is changing. And we thought we should be civilized".
She blinked but didn't say anything.
"Cat take your tongue Kitten?" He said with amused tone.
"I don't know what to say" everything was too much for her now she didn't know what to say.
Looking her face he said with serious tone "Then we should go. I don't want anyone see us with a dead body".
She looked at the dead body and shallow "We can't leave this body in here. If anyone find it then.."
Before she said anything he press his finger on her lips "shhh, I'll take care of it don't worry Kitten".
She didn't say anything and he continued "I'll send this body to his clan. This'll be a massage for them. If any of them dare to come my territory they'll get the same fate".
Her eyes were wide and she took a deep breath but kept her mouth shut.
Then he suddenly said "I want you to stay with me in my house".
She was too shocked to say anything.
