Chapter 2: Chapter 2

School sucked, being an adult sucked worse. I still lived with my parents, but soon moving would be necessary. Mrs. Wilkerson was on strike two and I wasn't tolerating it. This was just in case you missed anything. Right now I was a sitting duck waiting to be irritated...well actually no. I was currently resting on my front porch drinking iced peach tea and reading this book on Norse mythology. The house was cleaned, school was over, and there wasn't a pestering animal to bother me. It was fall I think...at first I thought we had another week...we didn't. I better start listening to Pandora more, or else I will be living months behind...where is Pandora?

"It should still be summer, who needs school that you pay for anyways? I should just drop out." The habit of leaving my phone on the charger was good. I needed to buy shopping, so why not grab my phone and text Pandora. To my luck, she said yes. I was already dressed, so after I slid my phone in my pocket, I went back to what I was doing before. It was a peaceful activity, would definitely recommend to fellow introverts. Now having one sole friend was also a good recommendation. I tried befriending others...but they all talk to much.

"Aamon!" Pandora was dressed...bright? I could use her as a highlighter for my text book, but I prefer non-neon colors. She was beautiful, don't get me wrong, but come on....pink? Her pink hijab and long dress were NOT my style. Even so, she managed to be beautiful in anything she wore. To her left side, she also wore a black satchel in which she typically carries books and her phone.

"It is fall, summer is long gone sweetheart."

"Look at your outfit!" Simple dark brown shorts and a white polo...come on. Shades were also necessary. I felt elite but like old elite. Like I am fine, but older me is fine also.

"I am classy, where did you even find this?"

"The mall, and classy? You look like a 30 year old in the 50's." Offended I am by this insult to my chill style. I felt good today, who urinated in her cereal?

"Oh then, then you probably won't go back with me."

"Of course I will, why are you going?" Maybe my text was a little vague, but why would I have unnecessary socialization?

"Didn't you say you wanted to go shopping?"

"Yeah, waiting until I save enough money."

"Do I need to buy the entire mall for you?"

"Aamon, you don't need to buy me anything. Spend your money on yourself." Another thing I loved about her was her disregard for my parents' money. Despite how humble they appeared to be, they were anything but that. People that aren't humble deserve nothing in this world, therefore more than half the population should die. Personally, I would never want Pandora to even deal with money problems when I have plenty to give.

"Technically I am, no let's go!" After grabbing my keys, leaving my house unlocked, and arguing with Pandora more, we finally get in our way to the mall.

Disclaimer: I am not Muslim. My parents had no religion, and they cared little of me trying to find one. They barely put up with me, as if having a kid was a minimum restrain from living life. Religion, kids, stress, and money trouble? For some reason they have never heard of them. But Unlike them, I would like to become apart of a group bigger than myself. Worrying encouraged me to be my best at all times. Therefore I would like to experience it a bit. As for my beliefs, better off religion than a mafia I guess. But if all fails, you shall find me in Italy. When in doubt, believe in another criminal.

"I want to get my nails painted, can you?" Finding activities appropriate for her wasn't hard since we've known each other for awhile. Her parents originally were raised against certain rules, but they have eased up on her.

"Yes, my parents believe it isn't against anything involving my religion."

"Great, and I was thinking a nice grey. Like ash, it reminds me of your eyes. What color interests you?" We stop at a stoplight and she shows me her phone.

"Sunflower brown, since you chose my favorite color, I choose yours."

"Ok, and for lunch?"

"You can choose." She liked those veggie bites that I gave her one time. Veggie bites are basically a variety of vegetables wrapped and baked in this biscuit. In the end, the bread is so soft and fluffy and the veggies are crispy on the outside while soft and savory on the inside. I like the asparagus especially, but she favored the mixed.

"Baked chicken and veggies bites from that one place by the arcade?"

"You didn't like them last time."

"I prefer one specifically." We park the car and I escort her inside.

"Are we going to get the usual?" Her right arm interlocks my left arm and I nod. Typically, everytime we start off with ice cream.

"Tradition is tradition right? Do not want one?"

"Yes I do." Our server gives us our ice cream and we find a blue table with four seats. The ice cream was three flavors, strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry swirled from lightest to darkest around the bowls perimeter. The ice cream made a bowl inside the waffle bowl, and then the server would add this mixture. Bananas, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream, but double the bananas to make the flavor stand out more. It was all blended and created the thick creamy middle of the Triple Merry Berry Banana Surprise Swirl. After it was topped with more of the original three flavored ice cream in three large scoops.

"Is that Aamon?" Crap, why does this girl choose to point me out everywhere she sees me!

"Oh hey Julie." Julie was this upperclassmen that I was convinced was obsessed with me. She had blonde hair and green eyes, though she was very pretty I only saw one girl as mine. Right now she wore a short lime green dress with a black belt tied around her waist. She always had her gold name necklace around her neck, how badly I wanted to strangle her with it.

"So you have time to eat ice cream but not to text me back?"

"Julie, can't you see I'm here with someone else, at least respect her. I will talk to you later." Pandora was a social butterfly, but she had some sort of thing against Julie. I wasn't sure what happened, but she turned her head and got nervous everytime Julie appeared.

"You promise?" She gives me a pouty face and I almost barf. I hated when girls did this, but Pandora was uncomfortable so I had to comply.

"Of course sweetheart." Oh crap.
