Chapter 3: Chapter Three
Tyler couldn't sleep the whole night. He has been caught up in that Desired Reality Shifting. He couldn't sleep at all thinking about the things he got to know the day before. He did all the research he could on Desired Reality shifting. He couldn't wait for his classes to finish and explain it to his friends. The clock struck 9:00 am and the alarm started ringing. His thoughts were interrupted by the alarm sound. He was more than enthusiastic than he was any other time. He quickly made his bed and did his every day routine and made his way to the dining room and ate his breakfast, gave his mom a hug and went back to his room and attended all the classes. Since, he didn't have any sleep last night he fell asleep during his classes. Linda came in to check upon on him. She was shocked when she found a sleeping Tyler on the computer table. He never fell asleep during his classes. She let it slide for today. He always has had an alarm set at the same time when his classes end. He got many weird dreams. He let it slide as he thought that it was because he was didn't get any sleep the night earlier. He wakes up to a bad headache. 'Ah why does my head hurt so bad' he thinks and sleeps in his bed this time.
He wakes up to his alarm and realizes that it's 3:00 in the noon, he realizes what's that supposed to mean. He hops onto his pc and waits for his friends to tell them what he learnt yesterday and what all happened.
"Boys gather fast. I have something to tell you about" enthusiasm was evident in his voice.
"Go on we are listening." Joshua says.
"Okay I got some information on Desired Reality Shifting. But it's very long. Are you sure you have the time to listen?" he asks. "We have plenty of time, we are worried about you. You know, Linda, so it's okay go on" Wad says.
"Okay so this is gonna be long, like so long, so bear with me" Tyler says and clears his throat.
"So here is the information I found about Desired Reality Shifting. Let me start with definition of it. This reality shifting helps you go to a place where you want or you desire to be present or be a part of it. So some people who experienced this said it's not that easy and it's not harmful either. Any questions?" Tyler behaves like a typical professor and the boys laugh at his playfulness."No sir go on." Wad says playfully. Tyler chuckles before going into the topic. "So basically Desired Reality shifting becomes tough when you forget that this is like a hallucination and not the reality. It may seem vivid but doesn't mean that it's real. So you have to prepare for it. And next and the most important thing, there must be a safe word or action. Or else you can't make it out to the reality." Tyler says."Listen boy, it's not like we are going into the desired reality shifting, it's you so he careful please." the boys agree with Oliver. "Sure my boys, I'll be careful and take all my precautions." Tyler says. "Now tell me a safe word. Like to which I can relate the most or I can easily remember." Tyler asks.
"Okay, let me think about it" Wad says. "How about your name?" Oliver says. "Are you serious?" Wad asks in disbelief. "Linda? Or vanilla? Macaroons? Spaghetti?" Joshua says. "Not everything is about food boy" Tyler says. "How about the first thing you saw when Linda took you out?" Wad suggests. "I don't remember it that good" Tyler says fiddling with his fingers. "Okay no worries. What is the grocery store you went to?" Wad asks. "It's the Thrift I guess. I don't remember it that good."
"Okay let's keep it Thrift then? Is that okay with you?" Oliver asks.
"Yeah sure it's okay with me" Tyler says. "Okay Tyler listen, do your first desires reality shifting today. Tell us what you think about it?" Joshua asks eating a bunch of chips and chewing them into the mic. "Ah you brat stop eating right outside the mic. My ears hurt" Oliver shouts. "Okay guys. I'm going to try it today. I don't know why but I'm feeling tensed." Tyler opens up. "Why are you feeling like that? Is everything okay?" all three of them ask in unison. "What if Linda finds out about this? What if she prisons me for the rest of my life? I'm scared." Tyler completes. "Okay first of all why will she find out? If she finds out also, why will she prison you for the rest of your life? Come on Tyler. Just do this one time. If you feel it's safe, tell us we will also try. Maybe we can meet up like that?" Oliver completes and everyone has a good laugh.
" Okay I will try only this once for my curiosity. And I ain't doing it again." Tyler says and bangs his fist on the table with determination.
"Your wish boy!" they all say in unison.
"Well that's what you said when you first started to talk about us" Joshua says. "I mean, hey no personal attacks." Tyler stutters. "Okay whatever it is, we wish all the best for you!" they say. "Okay boys I'll log off" Tyler says and logs off the computer. 'I need to eat something heavy so that I can be strong and perform the experiment well.' he thinks to himself and makes his way to the dining hall and asks for something very heavy, which makes all the cooks surprised. To Tyler's delight, they bring him his favorite dish, Chicken with a touch of cheese. He eats it all and thanks the chef for making it and goes back to his room.
'Looks like today night is the best way to do Desired Reality Shifting' he thinks to himself and plops himself on his bed.
"Hi my son" Tyler gets startled by the sudden voice. "Looks like you are lost in your own thoughts? What's the matter honeybun?" Linda asks in the sweetest way she could. "Oh nothing mom. It's just that I don't feel like schooling anymore. I've got tired of being in home all day and seeing the same teacher teach all the subjects." Tyler says his thoughts out expecting that it would, maybe, melt her heart. "Oh no my baby. Just wait until you graduate, you can take over your dad's company and run it by me to your side." Linda says and Tyler has a blank expression on his face. "Okay my bun, listen to me carefully. I'll be going on a trip to Ontario for some business purposes. So I won't be home till 2 months. I hope that you will behave yourself. Now go to sleep" Linda says. As she was about to leave, Tyler calls her, "Mom, when will you be leaving? I want to spend some time with you before you leave" Tyler says. "Aww it's late hunny, I'm already leaving now, the flight is in 3 hours." Linda says and leaves his room.
Tyler is feeling an unknown type of feeling. He can't he's happy or sad. But one thing is for sure, he's feeling somewhat relieved.
