Chapter 3: Sleep The Time Off
Three hours later.
" Oh, you finally woke up" Daniel who's sitting on one of an old stool said after taking a glance at Josh who just opened his eyes and now sitting on the broken bed he slept on.
" . . .My head hurts, how long was I asleep?" Josh asked.
" Three hours. . .Probably" Daniel answered.
" Eh. . . That long?, did I collapse?" Josh asked again as he stroke his pained head, trying to remember what happened. ' What does he mean by "Probably"?'
" No, I knocked you out because you were being quite annoying, you won't stop calling me "Honey" and saying we have a haunted daughter, seriously, your words scares me more than this haunted house" Daniel said with a sigh as his atmosphere become gloomy.
" Pfft, Hahaha, your girlfriend will be enrage if she hears me call you that" Josh laughed.
" . . . I have a girlfriend?"
" Eh? You don't know? Himakawa Mako, the senpai next to our classroom"
' Oh right. . . Mako-senpai, I almost forgot'
" Ah. . .right. . . anyway, how are you so calm?, won't you miss someone outside this place? We are locked up in this game forever" Daniel changed the subject after realizing that he do have a girlfriend.
Josh scratched his head and laughed awkwardly before answering:
" Being locked forever here is bad but I can't go home after . . . Worsening my mother's condition, I bet my family hates me, besides, I've been playing this game ever since last year when we were both send here, remember that? You answered all the riddles and found the real me from a hundred clones then . . . I killed you"
" Oh right. . . You killed me with a knife, pushing it super slowly that I would rather die, well, I'm the one who asked you do it so it's nothing to feel guilty for. . .Hold on, going inside the game alone is impossible" Daniel glared at Josh right after what he said. Since this game is for two people who think of each other as "Best friends". As for the reason why the game are made for friends, the creator thought it'd be fun watching two best friends to break their friendship slowly.
" Ah! Yeah, I realized that too, everyone who were sent here are by pair but I was allowed to go alone. I asked the game and it said I'm the creator's partner, Ah!, but when you went to my apartment, I'm not allowed to go alone anymore, the game said you're not the owner of the game anymore, why is that?" Josh explained then asked.
" A certain someone(God) hijacked it. Are you not going to ask me how did I ever make such a game?" Daniel asked, normally it'd be super scary to discover such things.
" Hmm, I'm curious but you don't have to say it if you don't want to, don't worry, I trust you" Josh said with an innocent yet sincere smile.
" Your kindness is killing me" Daniel stood up and walk towards the door to leave, Josh also got off the broken bed and follow him behind.
" Haha, there you go again with those odd compliments"
" Compliments?"
" Eh? Is it not?"
Daniel sighed, also got himself confused whether it's a compliment or not. ". . . Think whatever you wa-"
Snifflings of children's are heard in every corner of the room, zooming figures are also appearing in every possible directions, music playing and a singing voice are also heard.
" How many player(s) are inside this house?" Josh asked the game.
[ Two ]
The game answered, affirming that there are only two of them inside.
" Where did you learn that, talking to the game I mean" Daniel asked as he continue to walk in the dark and bloody room.
" When I went to a quest to find a golden sword with the other players, I was assigned to be the bait but I didn't know that they were just lying, I wasn't a bait; I'm a sacrifice, that's why when I was about to be eaten whole, I asked what will you do in that situation, then the game suddenly answered "Destroy" and that's how I knew the game will answer a player's question" Josh answered casually as if his whole story is one's everyday routine, he followed behind Daniel to the front of a cabinet and look upward where someone with bloody clothing and long hair is on top.
" Can you leave?"
" Oh, okay" Josh answered and was about to walk away.
" Not you, her" Daniel grabbed Josh's shoulder then pointed to the ghost on top of the cabinet. " She was the one who you called your daughter, right?" he added.
" Eh?! No way! She's just the same age as me!"
" That's not the problem, take responsibility of her, you said yourself that the man who never backs down on his words are the only man worth to be called one" Daniel said. " Didn't you call her your daughter?" He added.
" Oh, you're right!" The innocent Josh gave in. " Err, so what should I do?" He asked.
Daniel sat on the bloody bed and instructed:
" Stay in front of that cabinet, spread your arms like you're welcoming her with a hug, then kill her"
" Eh?!" Josh who already had the ghost in his arms was surprised from the last direction, he never killed anything in that dimensional game nor outside their world so asking him to kill a dead person is a little too much, I mean, he can't even kill a mosquito. . .
" Just kidding, hug her" Daniel said as he watch his friend get hugged by the ghost like its saying that Josh is her property.
Josh put his hands on her back, hugging her so casually like hugging his own sister. The ghost who finally felt warmth and love descended to heaven, finally, the messy room by blood is no more.
Daniel get off the bed then slumped on it and is now fast asleep.
'He. . . Fell asleep easily again!'
" Clinomaniacs are awesome" Josh muttered, amazed by Daniel who just slept easily in a situation where they're in.

Daniel: No, he will die sooner or later anyway.
Josh: Eh?! You should slap me! Also, that's not good! You should respect elders!
Daniel: . . . If you insist, then I shall hit you with all I have *cracking his fingers. I'm older than him compared to age though, I lived billions of years in different worlds.
Josh: ehhh? Uwaaaa! *Running
Daniel: Why are you running? *Chasing the running Josh to slap.
