Chapter 2: Aethelu
He wandered in towns looking for a place to stay but the people refused to let someone like him into their inn's or their luxurious accommodations no matter how much gold he had , at first he didn't find people around him judgemental but after a while living in their inn's and luxurious accommodations they gave him glances filled with disgust and hate .. he knew the reason but he refused to think that it was the reason and eventually people started chasing him out of their towns even warning other towns about him.
So far he had gone through several towns yet no avail .. the gold coins he had earned were in vain , he couldn't buy anything with them which caused him to starve for days if not weeks .. even though he was starving himself he didn't look like he was hungry and his body was in shape .. and he was able to move from the wasteland he was currently staying at to the far away towns that would require days for him to reach and then again he was starting to doubt that no one would give him any interest much less look into his large bag filled with gold coins , and he'd made some deals that he'd work as a slave just to get an inn or an accomodation , he was starting to lose it.
His alias changed from town to town but the definitions they gave about him gave him off making him more useless even with his current riches he wasn't able to enter into any town.
The best he could do was sleep in abandoned cabins which were cold at night as they were mostly placed in the desert and near the desert , as a 13 year old boy he had no parent guide or any wild camping experiences and skills , so he had no choice but to sleep in those cold cabins.
Although he was a kid he was still confident that nothing would come to him in his sleep or maybe come up and attack him .. he didn't even look scared as he looked around the abandoned dark cabin , after looking around he placed his bag filled with coins on the wooden table and proceeded to take a look around the cabin and made a bed to sleep in temporarily .. maybe if someone accepts him he would just stay there forever or maybe buy the inn whether it be a luxurious accommodation or what he'd still buy it to avoid getting kicked out if people found out his origins and background.
Sighing was the only thing that could help him at this moment .. he slept looking at the mouldy roof that covered him .. 'Maybe if I build my own inn I won't have any problems with any accomodation' he thought covering his body with the brown dirty blankets he had retrieved from the bag ..
He didn't think about anything and closed his eyes going straight into dreamland , he had no problem with sleeping which was good and very relaxing .. but as days passed he felt like he needed a decent accomodation .. he thought about being a rogue person but backed up on because it wouldn't help him win over people so he can befriend them , that was all he wanted and nothing more.
After a few days of pondering he came to a resolution and went on his journey to finding an inn and the closest town so far was at least 60 miles from where he was but it was better than nothing .. he pushed through the rough dust that swept on his feet causing a few scratches and wounds to appear on his forearms as well as on the feet too .. but without a care in this world he kept advancing forward and if he was honest he would admit that his face was starting to pain a little bit because earlier he walked into a small sand storm and he was lucky he didn't shrivel along with it .
After reaching a 45 mile distance he fell down on his knees right in the middle of the desert seemingly gasping for air plus he was starting to feel weak .. walking in a straight way for 5 hours and 45 minutes wasn't child's play , and as exaggerated as it may sound this boy's energy lasted more than what an average boy could last much less a ln adult .. but without giving up on his journey he kept moving forward with his forearms blocking the sand from hurting his face.
Finally just as he was about to give up his eyes brightened and his heart bloomed as he saw a large gate leading into a town .. and with two guards on the lookout they walked forward and looked at him "Boy what are you doing out here?" one of the guards in black armour stood tall looking in another direction like they weren't even talking to him "I'm here to look for an inn .. I was hoping maybe I could find one in this town .. after all I've travelled 150 miles so far and I don't think I can walk more .. I'll be injuring my body further" the guards looked at him before the other one on the right reached out his hand "Two gold coins for going inside the town" without hesitating chunked out five gold coins from his pockets avoiding the bag on his back .. when the guard saw the gold in his hands he nodded in a satisfied respond and led him into the town's biggest inn that will give him as much food as he wants because in this town a gold coin could accommodate one person for a week if not two plus the boy had added some extra two old coins giving him an esteemed guest presence and title .. when they arrived at the inn the guard asked him a question "What is your name young boy?" he stood firm with his spear facing upwards .. the boy didn't know if it was safe to tell him his name or what but if he didn't he would just increase their suspicions so he had to come out clean "I .. I am Aethelu" he closed his eyes expecting a fist from the guard but instead the guard stood there with a calm expression "Hmm Aethelu .. that's a nice name for a young warrior .. I hope you enjoy our town's good services" the guard then walked off in another direction toward the large gate.
