Chapter 2: First Blood
He had gotten a pair of clothes and a weapon just to complete the quest thoug he doubt he would use a weapon when he could create them with his powers.
He had gotten used to the powers a little bit as he fiddled with them.
His initial impression was now changed as he realised how useful the power to control rocks is.
Being able to freely make weapons out of rock.
While the rock structure he currently had wasn't anything strong, that would change soon.
There was a small pirate group that was camping on this town's port area.
It was a bunch of Civilian level pirates with their Captain being an Apprentice.
Currently Natlan was still a Civilian as such he would have difficulty damaging and killing an Apprentice even though he had a devil fruit power.
The ranks from his understanding affected Strength of the user's attacks and also their defence as he asked around basic knowledge of this world from the people in this town.
So he decided to attack the Captain at night when they were sleeping , the other pirate trash should't pose any difficult to him at that point as he would have ranked up.

He sneaked behind the Pirates at night and got close to the Captain.
He created a sharp knife made out of stone and slit his throat as the pirate captain gurgled with blood as he screamed.
The scream woke up his subordinates as they picked up weapons to attack him.

"Put that point in my Rock Rock Fruit" said Natlan as he created spears out of rock around him as they skewered the attacking Pirates.

They were only civilian level and did not pose a threat to him at all as they all died.
If only they waited a little bit to be more awake and saw him rank up they would have probably chosen to run away instead.
