Chapter 1: Inkford University

Amy Clovermore was a junior who broke through into the college football team during the first week of her college. As the selections took place to select the best students from the first-year students, the first-years are about to play a practice game against the current college team. The coach wanted to know what she would expect from the first-year students regarding quality, characteristics, and leadership.

When Amy stepped into the field, she was at it from the very get-go. Amy was commanding; her aura and her spirit made her look like the brightest on that pitch; she was willing to ask and communicate with the players, it was bringing the best out of her and her teammates, and it was different from other players who were sharing the same field as Amy.

She was the only one who got into the twenty-one-man squad; three other girls got into the reserve team. The selected students will be tested in the practice sessions to decide whether they would make it to the starting eleven players on the team or be a substitute for the team.

It was the first day of practice sessions; Amy introduced herself to the team, and her teammates reciprocated by presenting themselves to her. Amy was such an easy-going and likeable character who didn't take much time to become close to her teammates; she was approachable. She was confident that the players seemed to have forgotten that it was Amy's first practice session with the team. After all the introductions ended, the coach asked everyone to assemble to begin their practice sessions; as the students began to warm up and get ready for their practice match for the day.

During the practice match, Amy again took the spotlight by being a focal point between attack and defense. Amy was a natural midfielder and played the perfect midfield role by keeping it simple yet effective for their team to counter-attack. It was a good two hours of practice; the coach signaled that it was enough for the day as she addressed the group to gather around her, "We have a potential leader for our team and the seniors have some catching up to her, Amy I have grown to have a liking for your abilities. You are a reliable and born leader". Amy replied, "I'm ready to do anything for this team, for our victory. Although I'm new here, I have experience in being a captain".

"Don't stop; keep pushing yourselves like there are no limits." A true leader, Amy, the captain of the Inkford College Football team. She led from the front as an example for her teammates to look up to and follow her. A true lover and passionate footballer was a perfect way to define Amy Clovermore—a pure werewolf example for this team.

She turned the scene around at the Inkford College football team. Before her arrival to the team, there were many incompetent students; these werewolves always lacked something. Unfortunately, rather than rising to the situation and showcasing their talent, the team never believed in their abilities and were often disappointing on the biggest stages.

Finally, after years of failure, Inkford University had started competing with some of the best Universities across the state. The glory days were finally back as they rejoiced their first tournament win in over eight years of the university history without a trophy. It was the start of something great at Inkford University. They kept on winning all the tournaments they participated in; they were something close to unstoppable.

Bramward University, the biggest werewolf rival of Inkford University, had finally met in the finals after ten years due to the incompetency from Inkford; Bramward has been dominating and producing top talents for over 15 years; Inkford University had fallen off the throne that both élite universities shared.

Amy's flaws finally shed through her skins as the team was edging closer to a loss in the finals under her captaincy. If ever there was one thing that Amy hated the most, it was failing. Failure is something Amy was unable to accept, and it always had an impact on her mind; she'd always find herself frustrated after a loss. Although this time out, she had a good reason for being frustrated because they lost a final right before an annual tournament, which the loss would have declined their ranking to qualify for this tournament. Amy loved to compete among the best; not qualifying for this tournament would leave her heartbroken. It would seem like a missed opportunity given better performances they've had this year. It would be a shame given that the university's best year, and yet they couldn't qualify for the annual tournament.
