Chapter 2: There Was A
In the time they had their short exchange, Eons had gone by. Existence grew enamored by 'naturals' while The Being also grew a modest interest. 'Naturals' began to gain self-awareness and thought that someone must have created all of the things they see. From the stars in the sky, to scorching desert sand, even the tip of mountains. They thought "someone must have created all of this" and therefore called him God All-Mighty, creator of all. They removed 1 'o' from good and came up with God because only someone good would create so many things that benefits all. The 'Naturals' began to speculate on what gods power is, and came to to the answer that God is All-seeing, All-knowing, All-creating and All-powerful. Existence loved the way the 'Naturals' called it so much it decided that God would be it's new name. In their eyes, God was their father, God was their hero, God was their everything. God knows what they had for breakfast and knows what they will have for dinner. In their eyes, it is all-knowing. God is good, God is great. And for there to be good, there must be evil. An evil so powerful, so omnipotent, only God can match.
It just so happens that a being fits this particular bill. While God was happy and trying to help the life of all his devoted believers. The Being was doing the opposite. The Being used its gift of Omniscience to find great historical figures. 'Naturals' that if left be on their own, would change the way things are not only for them, but also the people and things around them. The Being would use bits of its Omnipotence to create impossible tasks and challenges for those historical figures to surmount. Very few would fail their first task and few their second. As the number of impossible tasks they complete grew, the percentage of success for the next task would plummet. Yet, The Being was not openly cruel to the historical figures, it gifted them with power at the beginning of their next impossible endeavor. Each time they would succeed a task, he would give them a choice, "Run away with the puny power you now hold" or "take the next step on your road to Omnipotence" few dared stop walking on the road of power. For the few wanted The Being to stop meddling in their lives. The Being, knows it interferes unjustly in the lives of these people, accepted the request on the condition that they complete the next impossible task without their next gift of power. The few, unable to refuse, soldiered on to the last impossible task they'll face. Because they all lacked the foundational strength to complete their individual tasks, very few accomplished them. But what awaited them at the end of their hellish journey was heaven on earth. They now possessed the power to do whatever they wanted. This spelt disaster for ordinary 'naturals' but not necessarily in a bad way. True, some became disgusting villains and tyrants, something also true was that others became respectable kings and heroes of the people. Since most of these just kings and noble heroes acted for the benefit of the people, like their God, they quickly assumed the dreadful villains and hateful tyrants worshipped an entity equal to God. Equal but despicable, Equal but evil. To name this loathsome entity, they removed all the letters from despicable safe it's first and added the word evil to it. He would be from then on known as The Devil.
