Chapter 5: The Forbidden River!?
"This girl is really something. God knows who can bear all her heartlessness"
He shook his head and did as he was told.
Soon after Lin MingYan came out and saw his little sister had brought a lot of food for him
"Little Bear! How am I supposed to eat all these alone?"
Meng Hai looked at his sister and said while stroking her head a little
"Big Brother Yao! It's ok if you can't eat it all. Little Yanyan will help you ok!?"
She smiled cheekily at him and
he sighed at her lovely actions.
"Go call Lili.. We will eat together."
He said while sitting in front of his table, all ready to eat his fill.
"Ok! That's amazing!"
She clapped in excitement and ran away to call Jai-Li
"Jiejie...Jiejie! Let's go and have lunch with us"
Lin Jai Li was looking after some preparations, as soon as all four sects were going to unite here.
They were already here so the other 3 sects were going to visit the Shaolin Sect.
Every 5 years they have the tradition to perform 'Four Flower Competition' to find out the best cultivator from the sect and through this they would have a chance to learn from each other.
When the last competition was held, it was held in Wen Sect and all the three sects were invited.
The Shaolin Sect was hosting this year's Four Flower Competition so everyone was busy except Lin MengYan.
"Ok Yanyan.. Let's go and see him, we can't let Ge wait for us"
Though Jia Li was busy with her work she would never ignore her sister and her happiness.
Meng Yan chirped in happiness and dragged Lili with her.
"You are here Lili.. Come have lunch! You have been working hard"
Meng Yao saw his cousin- sister and welcomed her with a warm smile.
"Ge, You could have eaten with Yanyan! I would have eaten a while later"
Jai Li said and sat at the side of the table and MengYan sat on the other side of the table.
They ate in silence.
"Little Bear, don't run around ok! Soon the other sect's discipline will arrive here and they might not be easy to tackle so you have to be cautious. I might not be able to save you by then. So please be aware of what you do and where you go!"
He patted her head lightly and left with Jia Li.
Meng Yan was left alone once again so she decided to meditate and work a little on her cultivation.
"Big Brother Yao, Sister Jai Li.. I will never disappoint you!"

In the main hall of Shaolin Sect,
Master Lin, The sect leader and the other disciples were present and Lin MengYao was giving them their respective responsibilities.
"We need to be humble and courteous to our guests. Last time when we went to the Wen Sect, They gave us a warm welcome and didn't let us feel any discomfort"
Master Lin told to their disciples and continued
"I want all my pupils to not only be humble with the Masters but you must be in your best behavior with their pupils! I don't want any problems"
When he was still instructing them, one of the seniors who was busy with juniors, came running, kneeled down and stretched his hands humbly and said
"Master! I am sorry to disrupt you but little Yanyan has gone towards the 'Hungry River's and it's been an hour but she is still not back! I was about to go and look for her but I thought, I should inform the Master first"
Master Lin stood up from his seat while clenching his fists and waved the long sleeves of his robes.
"MengYao! Jia-Li!... I told you to keep an eye on her! But why in the world has she gone to the hungry river? That is the forbidden place of our sect!"
He glared at both of them and Jai Li quickly knelt "Uncle… No Master! I am sorry, it's my fault that I couldn't guide my sister well! Please spare her"
She started kowtowing in front of him.
"Jia Li! It's all because of you that I have to go easy on that lass! Can you stop making excuses for her!?"
He said angrily and went away.
MengYao helped his sister up "Lili.. Just wait for me ok! Don't let your thoughts run wild.. She will be fine"
"Yao Ge! Uncle is really angry this time. I just hope they won't punish her."
Her eyes were streaming with tears. Master Lin was very strict with the rule and had never spared anyone who had tried to break the rules…
Meng Yao patted her back lightly and said "Don't worry! Father has decided to open the forbidden place.."
He said and left quickly.
He was right! Even though, Hungry river was a forbidden place to visit for the sect's disciples, they could not hide it from the world.
So Master Lin had decided to remove the word 'Forbidden'.
He amended a little so it was like they could visit the area near by the river but no one would be allowed to go in.
So from then on, entering the river was the thing which was forbidden.
Lin MengYao left and Lin Jia-Li followed him too.
Soon everyone reached the hungry river and saw Lin MengYan laying on the wooden pathway and was sleeping carelessly. Even some of the drools have fallen out of her mouth.
"Meng Yan! Wake Up.!"
Master Lin was dying of anxiety and was having thousands of scenarios in his mind. He was afraid that she might have done something to enter the river or might have tried her silly cultivating tactics on the river or she might have tried to break the shield which they had made on the river, even though that was out of her question.
But still who would have thought that she would be found sleeping and drooling like this on the edge of the river!
