Chapter 3: Book of Conscience
Door opened to a massive chamber where light infilterated in such a way that the podium built in center was lightening like a gem. Zach wanted to enter inside but Eva stopped him " this is a sacred room, I can't let you inside".
Understanding the sentiment he stayed outside. Tears were dripping down her face, for him whatever happened, happened two thousand years back but she felt it was yesterday when Jude knotted her braids and Megan cried when they teased her and fairy Queen was like a mother to them and that man was like a father.
He started coming to fairy castle with their Queen and slowly because of his kindness all fae brethren considered him their father. He taught them how to fight with and without magic for holy war. But still their Queen was on the pedestal where no-one can reach. Taking deep breath she bowed her head in respect and slowly touched the book lying on it.
Sharp pain entered her head making her scream and darkness welcomed her. Zach who was waiting outside cursed and ran inside without caring about any sacredness of the room. For him his mate was most sacred, his wolf was already on surface and it took less than one second to reach her.
As soon as he touched her he also collapsed as a heap beside her. Finally opening his eyes he saw two people sitting on an ancient deewan. He saw Eva on her knees beside him, she was crying loudly which made him growl and his stance got ready to attack.
Just then laughter echoed from the couple , the man spoke in gruff voice " dearie, I told you only my Lycan and mate bond will bring your fairies back. Your blood will not dry out, how long is it boy which clan do you belong from".
Zach looked at them with confusion, he could not feel their power and their was no killing intent from them, just surprise. He felt it was better to use brain before brawn.
Thus with a polite smile he asked" If you are asking since holy war it happened two thousand years back sir and I am from Clark clan, but sir I can feel you are strong alpha wolf and with ancient powers, but I have never seen you before. May I know sir, who are you".
Woman started laughing " Richardson, with my fae power I can feel connection between you two. May be he is your long lost relative old man".
Listening to her call him Richardson made his heart queer, their was once most powerful supreme alpha who was ever born, he was elder brother to his grandfather and his name was also Richardson Clark.
"Sir, may I ask if you have any relation with Maloras Clark". Man started laughing " oh, little Mal, my younger brother, he was still in diaper when I last saw him, did he learn to speak or not or he is still the blabbering fool as before".
Zach could see his grandfather grumbling in shame if heard this description for him, he always told him story of his elder brother, who was the biggest hero for him. He contributed to the holy war by gaining them victory and capturing dark ones inside the forest of night dreams.
He saw sadness in the ladies eyes, she spoke in the gentle manner to Eva " Evangeline, time has changed and you are no more sixteen now, your appearance here shows me that with your mate bond you were woken up by this wolf".
Eva tilted her head " what mate bond my queen, all I remember was you calling all the fairies to collect in the courtyard and next thing was this man touching my cheek, can you explain me what's going on, I remember you told us about some prophesy and that new queen will be the one who bring new life to all fairies".
Elaine was the name of Fairy Queen, with gentle smile she spoke " my child, their was a prophesy said by our ancestor long time ago, because our blood contained magical elements from life tree as we all are descendants of them, their will be the surge of greed and dark forces will join their hands to suck us dry and kill us all.So, to protect us, I made the decision that you are seeing right now".
While Elaine spoke her sadness was palpable, she continued " I would have never done that , if I had not met Richardson, I never knew how precious those mate bonds were, to supress the greed and make the world forget about us, I had to pause the time for you all, I collected all my power to turn you all into the fossil and their life tree was planted together with them to keep them all alive until new queen will be born and wake them up again".
Looking tired, she remembered the day "My energy was completely depleted. So, Richardson came forward and gave up all his alpha energy to make this clearing free of any dark ones that were leading the force to attack us and keep all the fairies safe, if we had won the war I would have brought you back myself. But as you can see, we failed in the endeavour".
Richardson took his turn to explain " when goddess Celine created us, she gave all the Lycan a duty to protect the fairies against all odds and luckily I found my mate in Elaine which made my resolve to protect this place much more powerful. I passed on the edict that all wolves will protect the fairies and there will come a time when calamity will stuck the lands that's when we need to reach this place by the chosen one. So, that one of these fairies could wake up and bring life to other fairies after her".
Eva's eyes were wide open " fairy who first wakes up, tell me my Queen am I the one who is responsible for all their life, please tell me someone else woke up first, how can I be responsible for all of this, I don't even have control over my magic yet".
Elaine smiled " with our last bit of power we created our conscious to turn into this book to guide the first Lycan and fairy that wakes up. My dear child I know it's a big task, but you have to be prepared because not only you have to wake them up but also bring life to this place that was our home forest of night dreams".
With a warning glance she spoke " Lycan of the Clark clan, your blood contains potential of ancient bloodline, use it with Eva's power when will be the time you will know and come back to this place, you will find the way to bring this place alive and As for the problem of infertility once you are mated with Eva it will be resolved".
She gave another of her beautiful smile "Be together, be powerful. Now our conscious is leaving this place forever. But our energy barrier will protect this place till you come back. Believe in yourself and protect Eva, take the locket that I placed near the book, it will protect Eva and keep her identity safe. Goodbye Children ".
