Chapter 3: Autumn Leaves

It's only been ten minutes since the exam ended.

And after I came out of the exam, I had a painful feeling. I felt so depressed and overwhelmed.

And when I was going through this, I kept thinking about taking something out of the lessons Edward gave me.

It gave me courage, but every time, no matter what I did, these evil spirit-like things inside me ate up my sense of courage that thoughts gave.

My only hope was to score well in this exam, as in others.

But I didn't know if I could do it because of my current situation.

The rain outside had just subsided, and the floor was still wet. There were huge puddles everywhere.

I went out and made my way to the school canteen.

Our canteen was run by two of the best couples in our school. Mrs. Asami Noura and Mr. Jinichi Noura.

They were a really sweet couple and they were very happy. They were constantly spreading positive energies around.

They knew how to talk to young people, and sometimes some people didn't go to class, talked to them. But sometimes the situation would be reversed and they would tell them about their problems to the students.

They loved me, too. They knew what I wanted and served it before I even ordered it.

But when I walked into the canteen that day, I saw a different person in the buffet. A slightly overweight lady with curly hair in glasses.

I looked at the lady and said:

"Excuse me, is Miss Asami here?"

I asked.

The woman slightly bent her neck, joining her arms behind her, she said;

"Aah! Yet you heard? Ms. Asami and Mr. Jinichi had to leave because of a special situation. I'm sorry, but starting today, I'll take care of the canteen."

Before I could get over the shock, I asked another question;

"So why did they left, did they have a problem?"

She answered me like she was annoyed by my question;

"I don't know! I'm new here! And if you're not buying anything, get out of here!"

She was a really tough and repulsive person. I bought a tea and left.

I didn't know what to think about Mr. and Mrs. Noura's sudden departure. It was painful, but I had no choice but to get used to it.

Suddenly, a light breeze began to blow.

The leaves of the trees began to fall, one by one.

As I was enjoying the view, I heard a familiar voice. Aki was here. She walked up to me and said,

"Wow, you're really fast! I've been looking everywhere for you! And I have to say, you're good at disappearing."

I smiled and said,

"Yeah. A little, but you should spend a little less time in the canteen."

Aki seemed a little embarrassed as if she didn't expect such an answer, and she said,

"So what! I like spending time in the canteen!"

"No, no, no. You misunderstood me. You're just so good at food. You know everything from what kind of food is, the kind, the Spice. I think it's a great achievement."

The look on her face changed, she smiled and said,

"You really act weird sometimes. But you're a really good person. Aaah. I really don't know what will I do with you."

I laughed and said,

"Don't worry. Life is long enough for us to hang out. Don't waste that time, okay?"

Aki looked at me and said,

"Then we are friends forever!"

She made a fist of her hand and extended his fist. Her hands were still shaking,

I fist-bumped her and said,

"We're friends. Forever."

It was then that a loud horn began to spread everywhere.

If I'm not mistaken, this is Aki's mother, Mrs. Bunko.,

"Ren. My mom's here I have to go. Take care of yourself. See you."

"Okay, you take care too. See you."

Now that Aki's gone, I was on my own. Before I could even take a sip of the tea in my hand, it cooled down in my hand. I quickly threw the glass into a trash can I found near me and kept going.

Normally, my father's friend, Mr. Kitaro, would drive me home in his car. He and my father were very close friends.

He was one of his most senior and dear friends since I was a child.

My father was an introverted and hardworking student like me in his youth. And he constantly influenced the person in front of him with his ideas and thoughts.

Of course, no wonder my mother loved my father. My father was very obsessed with my mother, and he would call my mother almost four or five times in a row, where we were constantly going somewhere. He would constantly check if she was okay and needed anything. My father was so obsessed with my mother that he didn't neglect to write more than one poem about her and a novel called "My Soul Mate.

Even though my father knew everything about my mother, I didn't know anything about her. I can't even remember my mother. She died when I was only five.

But from what my father told me, he said she had a smiley face, a loving and a very good heart. And the most exciting part was that my mom and my father have been together since elementary school.

I was really surprised to hear that.

Now I could see how my father knew my mother so well.

It was exhausting. So I had to stop talking about the past.

My real problem is now was how was I supposed to get home?

Unfortunately, I left my wallet at home. And there was no one I knew nearby.

Then I realized I had no choice but to walk home.

Time was really passing.
