Chapter 38: Strange man
(POV Hayato)
Damn, we're spotted.
I quickly got up and started backing up as the others did the same, separating in different directions to not get caught in an area attack. I guess that's the advantage of having teammates who know how to fight.
*Boom*
The Aliexpress's Superman and the guy with the saber attacked at the same time. The hill behind which we were sheltering had just shattered. If Izuku's group had stayed with us, half of them might have already died.
We managed to successfully dodge. They were surprised that their attack had failed.

But I'm not going to sit idly by, I looked around and saw Todoroki creating his ice, Alicia had already drawn her sword, Bakugo was heating his hands with explosions and Muscular was coiling with layers of muscles.
"Do you seriously think we're going to give up ?!" Yelled Todoroki, unleashing his giant ice attack.
The whole area in front of us was frozen in ice in an instant. The fake Superman also got trapped in the ice. But I knew it wouldn't be enough to defeat them. I quickly pulled out my metal marbles to prepare for my attack.
*crack*
The ice started to crack and then the entire giant ice block exploded from the inside. The fake Superman hovered as if it hadn't affected him. However, I think we managed to anger him
"HOW DARE YOU-"
"RAILGUN !!! "
Before he even finished speaking, he was sent flying into the background by the power of my attack. I turned to Aizawa but he just shook his head. Since his quirk has no effect, it looks like the false Superman's quirk is a mutant type.
Meanwhile, the saber guy had driven his saber into the ground. A very dense mist began to spread in all directions with the sword as the center.
"* Sigh * really pisses me off," Dabi said tiredly just before sending out a huge wave of flame.
However, the deeper the flames went into the hazy territory, the weaker they became. Before dying only halfway.
"Your efforts are in vain. No matter what you do, you are all going to die, " Said the saber guy calmly while hiding in his haze to not get erased by Aizawa.

The balls were launched at high speeds through the mist without slowing down. No one could react in time. Then as they were about to stab the guy with the saber, the fake Superman appeared out of nowhere and stepped in to protect his teammate.
*Boom*
The collision raised a cloud of smoke that covered everyone's view.
"Congratulations… you managed to surprise me" said a voice from the cloud of dust.
Once the dust dispersed, we could see Eric (the Superman) in front of his buddy.
He was standing in front of the saber guy with both his arms crossed in front of his face in a defensive stance.
However, while he managed to survive both of my attacks, he did not come off unscathed. His body was riddled with impact from my attacks with a thin line of blood dripping from his mouth.
He likely received internal organ injuries from the shock wave upon impact. But I'm surprised he doesn't look more hurt than that. After all, my railgun has an attack speed of Mach 5. Just a shock wave would be enough to detonate someone. He can be proud of his title as a fake Superman.
Well, I managed to do all of this to him because of the surprise effect. Now that he's on his guard, I'm going to have a hard time killing him. In addition, with his teammate literally making all the quirks on our team useless, it makes things even more difficult.
"Congratulations… I hadn't planned on seriously fighting mouses today but you managed to piss me off. Prepare to suffer!" He yelled with a red face full of rage.
Seeing him react like that, I instantly relaxed and he must have noticed it because he looked at me with even more anger (if that's even possible).
I started scratching my head with an embarrassed expression while making signs to my team with my left hand hidden behind my back.

"You ... are you kidding me is that it ?! How dare you take me down !!!" He yelled
"Either way, whether you agree or not doesn't matter to me. I never asked you for your opinion." I said with a cold face that had no trace of the previous sunny smile.
And as I spoke, me and my team who had gathered around me during the conversation started to disappear.
"Get ready, because the next time we meet will be the day I come to take your head ..."
My words spread through the charred forest as I disappeared completely.

(General POV)
After 1 minute of silence, Rowen (the man with the sword) spoke.
"Are you going to stay stuck like this for a long time?" He asked Eric who had been stuck in his position the entire time.
"At least tell me if you can figure out their position." Continued Rowen
After taking a few seconds to calm down, Eric explained
"My senses are super developed. Normally, if I concentrate, I can hear everyone's heartbeat within 100 yards. But there, I hear nothing except ours. "
Rowen then took a pose of reflection with his hand under his chin
"So that would be teleportation? We see the Quirks of 7 of them. But none showed the ability of teleportation. It must be the power of one of the others. Next time you see them, we need to take care of them first to prevent them from running away like they are today. Plus, you got carried away too easily. Eric then followed Rowen who started to leave while saying in a frustrated tone

After seeing the two guys walking away, I turned off the invisibility as well as the soundproofing.

Once we got back to our base, we started to rest. For my part, after resting a bit, I separated from the group to go and cool off at a nearby water point.
About 500 meters from the camp, I came to a river. The current was not very strong and the light was reflected on the surface of the water, the view was magnificent.
If I hadn't known that we were in the middle of a fight to the death, I would have liked to settle in a peaceful place like this to rest.

There stood a man. I couldn't make out exactly what he looked like. It was as if a veil obscured his features.
He had black hair and black eyes. He was sitting in a camping chair with a fishing rod in his hand and an ear of wheat in his mouth.
He was wearing simple clothes, a t-shirt, and black shorts. His clothes, although clean, looked worn by time. He had something that looks like a rusty old sword on his back.
I absolutely didn't feel him approaching. It's like he's always been there.
" Who are you ?" I asked, doing my best to stay calm.
But my question went unanswered from him.
"So you wanna play it like that huh?" I whispered as I unfolded my domain. If he refuses to answer me, I will have my answers whether he likes it or not.
But as he found himself encompassed in my realm, something completely terrifying happened.
There was nothing in front of me.
Nobody. Absolute emptiness.
No particle to indicate that it could be an illusion. Just… the void.
Every part of my body was screaming at me to run away as far as possible from this place and never come back. But my curiosity did not allow me to leave like that.
My domain allows me to control one of the 4 fundamental forces of the universe. A force that is present everywhere and in everything. A law that governs the very functioning of the universe. But there, in front of me, there was an anomaly. Something that should be physically impossible.
I activated my vision quirk to see if I could see anything. But nothing changed, he was still there sitting with that light veil that prevented me from seeing him clearly.
"I'm curious, how far can you see with your eyes?" Said the unknown man calmly.
" Who are you? Are you also one of the participants in the game of Lucifer? What team are you on?" I asked for information.
But he continued to stare at the lake without paying attention to me. He looked very focused on fishing.
"Hey, do you know it's a man-made river? There are no fish here. "
But I still got no response, and while I thought he was just ignoring me, he said
"Your eyes… They're still not enough to see me."
His voice was… normal. But not just normal. It sounded like the voice of any random person. A voice that everyone could have. Extremely easy to forget.
Then he stopped talking.
" What are you doing here? "I haven't given up on my quest for information.
But oddly, this time he answered my question without delay.
" I'm waiting for someone. "
A simple sentence just like the man who said it.
After that, there was silence for about 5 minutes before he suddenly picked up his fishing rod while saying
" I have work to do. Goodbye, little guy. Your company will have been pleasant. "
Then I barely blinked when there was nothing in front of me. It's like I've been in a dream the whole time.
The only thing that confirmed to me it wasn't a dream was that ever-present camping chair.
