Chapter 39: Chapter 39: Dana Brings Champagne

Wearing a sweatshirt and made to look that way, torn designer jeans, Dana knocked on Stella’s front door. It was well after midnight. But the shifter didn’t care. She had news to report.

A light clicked on, shining out on a second-floor window.

Stella walked down the stairs to the front door. She could only imagine a wolf there. But which one? Bennett, coming to tell her they were over? He would return to NYC with his father. Take over the family territory, the business, and spend the rest of his life with the beautiful and glamorous Monica. The woman and shifter he was raised alongside. The only one his father approved of.

Or would it be Monica, or Carlton, coming to end her life. She was a human after all, who knew about the shifter world. That was a crime, punishable by death to some shifter packs.

Bennett had fought and won for her once. But was he able to do it again.

She had no idea. And she would not find out until she opened that door.
