Chapter 3: A little about what's healing all about

Today doesn't seem to end and it's killing me and don't get me wrong it's like this for me every day but today just seems incredibly long even for just a regular boring day at school.
Staring out the window from our classroom seems to be my routine every class, it's my escape from our lessons especially for Ms.Sibyl's class, she teaches us charms.
It's terribly boring but you can't really blame her, how exciting can learning about making love charms get.
We have got 7 subjects which are traditional medicine, charms, spells, illusion magic, defensive magic, herbology, and summoning magic.
There's PE but I don't really consider it a class as it's more of a torture session that should really be used on convicts and not students.
Illusion class is kinda fun but the spells are a bit too inconvenient to be used in a real battle, I mean you would need to have a safe position where you can start casting the spell if you would really want to cast one of those gigantic very realistic illusions used in war. You're practically unable to move and become a liability the moment you start chanting. I mean it's not like the other classes consider us anything but a liability but it would be nice to at least be able to cast the spell before we get our heads chopped off.
Summoning class also sounds better than it seems, we only learn how to summon creatures that can help heal or enhance the physical capabilities of others, Nothing that can be used to fight demons or idiots with an axe or a sword.
The government always revised our syllabus making it more and more catered to healing, so that kind of results in these boring classes.
The other classes are pretty standard, they teach us how to control our magic and utilize our gifts as healers.
My friends, and when I mean friends I only mean the only two I have, Alek and Racquel.
I met them on the first day of school. If I am not mistaken it was during orientation week, we were put into groups and coincidentally the three of us were in one group and the rest was history.
Alek is the son of a minister in the parliament and Racquel is a half-blood.
Half-bloods are offsprings of 2 different classes, this is rare as people usually stick to copulating within their own class. She is part warrior and part healer but she got the healer side from her mom so she's grouped together with us.
Her family is pretty well to do, I mean not surprising as her dad is a captain, a rank that's hard to get in the military. She also comes from a bloodline of one of the richest families and oldest healers. Her parents fell in love with each other on the battlefield a very cutesy love story and as you would expect it their families didn't agree to the marriage, so the only thing they could do is run away, make a baby and get married. After all of that their families disowned them but slowly accepted their marriage in the end and puff now, they have 3 kids, the youngest being Racquel.
As for Racquel's private life, she has a huge crush on Jake, but she usually switches her crushes like she changes clothes. This time surprisingly Jake has actually been on her mind for quite a while so I don't know how long it's going to last. I say 2 months tops. Hopefully, it ends soon because I think Alek might have an aneurysm cuz he likes Racquel but he would never admit it to me no matter how many times I grind him about it.
Well, I guess I could be wrong but I mean just look at the way he reacts whenever Racquel talks about Jake, anyone would think that he's just jealous. Anyhow, I would be their number one supporter if they got together, they look cute together, it would be sweet.
