Chapter 51: EGG?
Time passed by peacefully for Demolus as he continued his research and nightly activities with Cerea. He didn't forget to play with Papi and Suu while teaching them about common sense. And it seemed to pay off as the two started understanding a bit of it but there were still things they needed to learn and Demolus was going to make sure they learn at least he will try.
Mero on the other hand was getting close and closer to Demolus sometimes forgetting the tragic romance stories and just enjoyed her time with him. After all, Demolus started going to her room when he had time to swim and the two enjoyed each other's company.
The Mon team would come over from time to time especially when they had nothing better to do. This led them to get to know everyone better and becoming friends who hung out together when they could.
And one day, when everyone was just hanging out in the living room which, was huge by the way. Demolas saw Papi coming to him with this expression of shyness which she has never shown before.
"Um, Demo-Nii." Papi said while holding her skirt down which looked adorable.
"Yes, what's wrong?" He asked her with a gentle tone to calm her down which worked to an extent.
"Papi's gonna lay an egg," As she spoke these words everyone quieted down while freezing up, while Demolus nodded understandingly.
Seeing how everyone was reacting Demolus decided to explain, after all, he didn't want to be accused of doing something he didn't do. And he started explaining how harpy's work and that they lay eggs from time to time. While doing his research he read up on all sorts of races just in case and it paid off already. After he explained what was happening everyone started calming down.
"What? So you lay eggs every day, like chickens?" Miia said with a mocking smile.
"NO WAY! This is the first one in a long time!" Papi said angrily while flapping her wings.
"But… this is the first one Papi's had in Japan, so she's not feeling so great…" Papi said while everyone looked at her some with concern while others with interest.
But they didn't have that much time to talk as they heard the doorbell ringing. And as they opened the door they saw three men which carried a camera a microphone and some sort of reflecting board.
But before they could say a word Demolus stepped forward knowing that these guys were frauds.
"Leave or I will make sure to break every bone in your body, then I will tear you libs of one by one!" Demolus said stopping himself from straight-up killing them as he remembered what they did in the mange. He was trying to control himself while unconsciously letting out a tiny bit of conqueror's haki.
The three guys started trembling with fear they didn't understand why they were being threatened but they could tell that the liminal in front of them wouldn't hesitate to do as he said.
Mero on the other hand looked at him with even more interest than before, she could tell he was holding back but she felt it even if for a moment. Mero has felt an aura like this only once before and only from her mother. She knew that he was different from others and she really wanted to know why he had this kind of aura and how was he able to suppress it.
Centorea was looking at him with awe and she knew that her master was the best, she could feel like the knight of a mighty ruler if only for a moment. While Suu was just there with Papi and the two had no idea what was happening.
Miia could tell that Demolus was angry but she couldn't understand why and looked at what was going to happen with interest. While Kurusu was panicking after all he never saw Demolus angry and was very surprised when he started speaking with the men at the front door. Kurusu didn't understand why this was happening but decided to trust him and leave this to him.
Demolus was looking down at them as he was taller than them and asked Kurusu to call Smith. The men on the other hand started panicking not understanding what was going on but started introducing themselves.
"Sorry...I'm Ka..ka..Kasegi a video director, I'm producing a...a documentary on interspecies cultural exchange," The man said while stuttering and trembling he didn't expect to be met with such hostility the moment the door was opened.
everything went quiet as Demolus continued staring at the men in front of him.
"Did you not hear me the first time?" Demolus said with clear hostility and anger in his voice.
But it seemed like the three in front of them got lucky as some police and interspecies cultural exchange agent cars had arrived and stopped near the house. AS they stopped they all surrounded the men and cuffed them while thanking Demolus and everyone for their help in catching criminal scum.
