Chapter 8: Chapter 9- Family.
ELIZABETH'S POV
I Stood there in shock and anger as I watched him drive away.
"Did that bastard just blew me a kiss" I asked myself mentally. And his guys at telling me I will get a replacement for my dress in a week, what arrogance!
I had to wait in line for three good months before I could get my order for the dress and it costs me a whopping sum of money, yet he thinks he can do this in a week?
I smiled mischievously as I turned and walked towards the elevator.
"Two can play the game Mr Davis, I will sure pick you up on your offer" I said with a smirk as I stepped into the elevator.

Today is the last Sunday of the month and as it's a tradition for the whole family to have dinner together, I had to go down to my parent's house.
I avoid going there as much as possible to avoid my mom's nagging about getting married. She won't Stop reminding me of how many of her numerous friends: daughters are married and living fine. It's always frustrating for me.
At exactly 6pm, I drove into my father's palatial estAte with my annoying best friend.
Together we stepped into the house. Everyone was already seated at the dining table when we got in. Alisha kissed my dad on his cheeks and walked around to kiss mom as well and I followed suit. Just as I was about to sit, my annoying younger sister stepped into the room, descending the stairs.
"Wow,the Ice queen herself finally decided to grace us with her presence tonight" she retorted sarcastically, as she took her seat beside mom opposite me.
"Hello to you too Tania, you look a bit skinnier than the last time I saw, are you sure you are eating healthy" I replied without a smile, going through my phone.
"I feel as healthier as I can ever be Liza" she answered childishly rolling her eyes.
"Liza! That's too cheap of you!" Mom shouted at me.
"What mom???" I asked innocently, rolling my eyes.
"Can you ladies just give me a minute of peace?" Dad said ..looking at us.
The maids brought in the dishes and sets the table.
"wheres Mathew?" Mom asked Tania
"Oh, the celebrity got herself a new catch?" I butted in.
"If only.you can also manage to get yourself one" mom.replied uninterestingly.
"Thank God I don't get to change them like Napkins" I said as I stood to dish my food.
"Do you ever give up" Alisha jumped in, looking at me in irritation.
" You know I don't"
Just then a young man in his early twenties walked in dressed in a casual top and shorts he looks handsome and carefree.
"Hey baby.." Tania said sweetly as the guy took his seat besides her.
" Oh you must be Elizabeth" he beamed with smiles, looking at me. " IAM Jude, I've heard so much about you"
"Oh really? I hope.they are not scary stories "
"Not at all ma'am"
"Nice to meet Jude...I hope you last" said Elizabeth as everybody gasps..looking at me in shock.
"Liza!" Everybody shouted
"I simply said what we all know is the truth"
"That was too low of you" said Alisha, obviously angry.
"It's alright ma'ams" Jude said with a smile as he pets Tania whose eyes could not stop shooting daggers my way.
"Liza, we need to talk after dinner" chief Anderson said casually as he finishes his meal, wiping his mouth.
" Can't we do that some other time dad? I have a string of meetings tomorrow, I need to have an early night" she replied without any emotions or even a glance at him.
Everywhere became silent,except for the clankings of cutleries as the family ate.
Few minutes later, Chief Anderson stood up and glared briefly at Elizabeth.
"Liza...my office..NOW!! " He said softly and left the table.
Elizabeth stood and followed after him.
"How do you cope with her Ali?" Tania asked .
"Let's just say she kind of grew on me, don't forget shes my best friend T. " Alisha answered with a sweet smile.
"I wish she can just get off her high horse and just live like a human being' the mom chipped in..also getting on her feet.
The maids came around to pack the plates as Alisha got busy on her phone and Tania also got busy with Kids by the side.
