Chapter 2: 44. The survival plan

Johan smiles surprised at the good reaction. “Beautiful. I am glad you are all so motivated to put both hands up.”

The group of chosen ones look at one another in surprise. They are thinking like one and Rene replies on behalf of them: “No, Professor, we put up both our hands because we desist in being so selfish. Why only us, here is space to save many more?”

The smile disappears from Johan’s face and despondently he shakes his head. “People, you don’t realize the full implication of our desperate situation. That store might look like a supermarket now, but do you realize how much one person needs to survive over a full month and if we open the door above too early the plague will overwhelm us and everything will be lost. Furthermore, every extra person will be a stumbling block when we leave the fort. We will have to fight for survival! You might think you were chosen randomly, but it is not so.

“We know much more about each of you than you realize and you were chosen with good reasons. People, they won’t allow us to break the rules. The rule says: our ten and no one extra. They even know each one’s medical records. No one amongst you have a genetic disability like diabetes or a heart disease. No one wears goggles, etc, etc. Sorry, Michael, just by the way, we know that under certain conditions you exhibit autistic tendencies, but this deficiency makes you brilliant and genial in other areas and you have this dysfunction well under control. I was especially prepared by our psychiatrist here.

“People, the planning for this was done meticulously. I know it will worry you and that your minds are now full of memories of people near you. You must go and warn them and help them to flee the city and from any artificial light into the wilderness. Draw all your money and even indebt yourself and buy them what you think will be necessary for their survival for at least one month. One day we will probably meet them again and they can then join us. But you must be on time in front of the 666 wall before it is too late, please!”

Francois speaks: “We need a doctor, Professor. I don’t think you have thought about it, have you?”

Johan smiles. “We have a doctor. Rene, tell them about your background, please. I know you are modest, but it is necessary that they know.”

Surprised all eyes are fixed on her and Kadin puts her hand on her shoulder: “Mom, what is the prof saying? Is this so? I don’t understand.”

Rene blushes and let her head down modestly before she begins: “Johan, I am not a qualified medical doctor.”

“Okay, if you don’t want to tell them, I will. Kadin, your mother had almost completed her medical degree before she quitted. She is as good as any medical doctor. She didn’t complete her degree and registration because of personal reasons. That is why she helps out frequently at clinics and hospitals with nursing and caring and also loose scraps of work here and there to earn money for your further study one day, and believe me, we are going to need her talents immensely in the future.”

Emilie wants to know: “Can we not at least save kids and house them in the leisure area? They need less food which we can bring in and store there.”

“Who is going to protect them against the monsters and the robbers when we are going to leave the fort to face the cruel world on the outside? We won’t be able to protect them because we’ll need all the heroes on our side to protect us and if they offer their lives to save the children and have succumbed there will be no one to protect us and we will be killed.”

An eerie silence follows and they look at one another desperate and dumbfounded searching in their minds for answers and Johan continues: “I didn’t want to divulge something to you, but now I think I must. Kadin and Billy, you met Vipracitti and experienced his wizardly powers, not so? And he took over your thoughts and showed you the future, didn’t he? And that is why you succeeded in bringing this group to the fort for me to prepare you, haven’t you? You have first-hand encountered the capabilities of Vipracitti, am I correct?”

Kadin and Billy shake their heads in agreement while Kadin confirms: “Yes, that’s true, Professor, he showed us the future in great and accurate detail so that we relive déjà vu moments after he showed us the future in our dreams. This is one of those moments. It is truly so.”

“I wondered how Vipracitti would persuade or manipulate me because I knew I should not look into his eyes so that he could take over my senses and at will in the future, like he does with you and a lot of other people. He knew it and surprised me by showing me the future in quite a different way without looking into my eyes and now I know where his powers come from.

“I am going to dare and tell you as secret. The reason why it is a risk is because most of you are going to find it hard to believe, but I feel I must. Nico, you don’t understand why I shared my knowledge with them. Nico, a while ago I descended the stairs naked and reached an underground room where the wizard sat naked on a cushion and he gestured for me to sit down opposite him also on a cushion. I saw our positions are encircled by white lines on the floor. He called for Shiva to come and fetch us and the next moment we were engulfed by two laser lights within our circle.

My whole body was starting to feel weird as if all my cells were penetrated by one or other radioactive energy and I heard the sound like a high voltage transformer and then it felt as if I and the white light became one and everything was only bright white.

“People, the next moment we sat in a strange room. He rose and told me to follow him and we proceeded to a bigger room with a big crystal ball in the middle and with windows right around us. I couldn’t believe my eyes and thought it was an illusion and ran and knocked against the windows. Maybe, I thought, it is a TV screen that creates the illusion because I saw the moon and the earth.

“Long story short; we were in a highly developed space ship that creates its own gravity. It was sent from another solar system. People, the plague was developed and completed by a group of special scientists with the purpose to annihilate the current devilish civilization. The rules of the administrators of the universe stipulate that a super civilization cannot directly intervene and take over in a neighboring solar system’s civilization, but may help if they are requested by the inhabitants and if it will bring positive outcomes for that part of the galaxy.

“The DNA code was sent and overnight from space an extra-terrestrial fleet will fly over the earth and no one can stop it. Nico, you asked me why I helped them with the weapon. The wizard said he knew I believe more in technology than my own intuition and took me to Shiva’s crystal ball in the centre of the space ship and left me there and walked away. That is after he had told me that I had to make decisions in front of the ball and every time I put my hands on the ball, a different future scenario will play before me. That is why I had no choice in the end; I just had to share my knowledge with them because this will by far bring the best result in the end.

“Believe me, people, I even saw this moment in the fort with you all and the only model that worked time and again, was this one that started with only the ten of us in the fort. It is therefore the only one I will accept.”
