Chapter 762: Accusations

"Maple!" Damien turned to look at his old friend and said, "I was waiting for you."

Maple's eyes instantly fell on the pendant that Damien was tightly holding in between his palms. "Why did you bring it back?" she asked in a voice full of shock as if Damien had done something that he shouldn't have.

"It was hurting Joyce," Damien answered to the point. And he asked Maple, "And it keeps on trying to latch itself back to her. Make it stop, please."

However, Maple outright denied that request from Damien. "There's a reason why it tried to go back to her! It's already a part of her identity now. You need to take it back to her. Right now."

"What reason? And what identity? Why do I need to take it back to her?" Damien shot a barrage of questions at Maple.

Maple was silent for a while.
