Chapter 13: Part four - Straw Hat Pirates? 1/8

Two guys and a girl hurriedly walked through the deserted streets of a small town.

- So, Zoro, give a signal to the dumbasses that it's time to work off their piece of bread, - Luffy said to the swordsman.

The green-haired guy silently pulled out from his bosom a small den den mushi - a small snail with a dial on a shell that could telepathically communicate with other snails at a distance of a couple of tens of kilometers, and then, reproduce the words aloud, exactly imitating the voice of the person who answered the call , - and dialed the required number.

- Zoro-aniki? - after just one beep, a snail emerged from the shell, respectfully, in a man's voice.

- Johnny, take Yosaku and head to the south end of town - Zoro commanded.

- Actually, we are now going to the north, why should they go to the south? - immediately asked Nami, puzzled.

- Zoro-aniki, are you sure that we need to go exactly to the south? - with a distinct note of doubt in his voice, said Johnny.

The guy's question was heard at the same time as the girl's.

- Or rather, to the north end - the swordsman quickly recovered, covered in sweat, which earned him a suspicious look from Nami and a contemptuous snort from Luffy.

- Okay, we'll be there in a couple of minutes - Johnny responded, judging by his voice, noticeably more cheerful, which made the girl's gaze directed at Zoro even more suspicious. She had solid suspicions that the famous "Pirate Slayer" is very at odds with the orientation on the ground.

As if hearing her thoughts, Luffy, walking to her right hand slightly turned his head towards her and explained:

- Zoro suffers from topographic cretinism in an especially acute form, - he happily gave out his first mate without any conditions, for which he immediately received a murderous look. - He is able to get lost in a straight corridor with two exits, - the guy continued, skillfully ignoring both the swordsman's murderous gaze and his audible growl. - Don't even think about sending him for one thing. Not only will he not bring anything, so, in addition, you will then have to look for him himself, and if you give him money, he will definitely drink it all away.

The next second, under Nami's dumbfounded gaze, Luffy fortunateley stumbled ... fortunately because if it hadn't happened, he would definitely have been left without a head. The sword of Zoro - now crimson with embarrassment and rage - whizzed through where Luffy's neck had been a moment ago. The next blow of the sword, aimed directly at his forehead, he intercepted with his hands, gripping the blade of the katana between his palms. And although Nami never considered herself a specialist, she had seen enough to say for sure - this was not a game! If he hadn't stumbled or caught the katana between his palms, he would have definitely died. And how, one wonders, to look at this calmly?

During her career as a thief, we have seen a lot of pirate teams, therefore, usually, I could immediately understand the dynamics of relations within the pirate gang ... True, in fairness it should be noted that there was nothing special to understand. A bunch of scoundrels, led by the main bastard, who differed from the rest only in greater strength and, often, smaller brain. Relationships in such teams were divided into two types. The first type is a more or less friendly team led by a captain. The second type is a team entirely consisting of some bastards who are ready to put a knife in the back of any person, including their captain, if only they were not afraid of him half to death. Everything is extremely simple.

And it was for this reason that Nami was now at a loss, and it was not difficult to understand her.

First, Zoro - walking to Luffy's right hand, calmed down as quickly as "flushed" - was known throughout the East Blue as the consummate pirate hunter. They began to talk about him a few years ago, but then he was more called "Three Swords" Zoro or "Pirate Hunter" Roronoa Zoro. This went on for about a year, after which the green-haired swordsman disappeared somewhere. Rumors about him gradually began to subside, even there was talk of his death. However, a little more than six months have passed since his disappearance, as they started talking about him again. And if "Three Swords" Zoro he was periodically called now, then the nickname "Pirate Hunter" rather quickly changed "Pirate Slayer". And all because the aforementioned swordsman stopped taking the pirates alive and began to kill not only the leader, for whom the reward was assigned, but all members of the team. Then the question immediately arose, how can such a person be a pirate at all? And how does he get rewards for the pirates he killed? Or just take and receive? After all, everyone still considers him to be a bounty hunter, not a pirate.

Secondly, despite the presence of Zoro, a personality extremely famous in all East Blue, a completely normal guy walked next to him, half a head shorter than the swordsman himself, who looked almost harmless, but at the same time occupies the position of captain. Again the same, one wonders, how so? Even if, in spite of all his doltish appearance, under his old straw hat there was an extraordinary mind, - judging by everything he said earlier, - nevertheless, he looked ten times weaker than his subordinate. So why is he the captain then? Just because of your mind? On the other hand, when Zoro attacked, Luffy stumbled too in time. And he was able to catch the katana, between his palms, without any problems. Although the swordsman attacked him with such speed that Nami herself did not even notice the blow. Does this mean Luffy is strong? Most likely, yes. Did this mean that he was stronger than Zoro? It's somehow doubtful. The green-haired swordsman, unlike his captain, immediately gave the impression of a strong and dangerous person - it was for this reason that the girl tried to pass him off as her Boss when she ran away from the pirates - but Luffy seemed like a simple and carefree kid who did not take anything seriously ... And although Nami herself had already managed to make sure from her own experience that he was far from being so careless, and certainly not simple, he still did not perceive her as a strong person. Definitely not stronger than Zoro.

It turned out to be a strange dynamic of relations in a strange team of strange people.

And Nami only became more convinced of this when two more members of her new team greeted them on the outskirts of the city. It became clear to her that when Zoro called them on den den mushi, they were somewhere near the meeting place. Although no more than fifteen minutes had passed since the call, the guys sprawled at ease among the tall grass at the edge of the road looked like they had been here for a long time.
