Chapter 14: 『14』
Flying over the long path, I arrived within seconds. I changed back to my human form in a disclosed area so no one would really notice.
I waited in line for what it seems to be like a registration area? Thankfully I had my mask on, my aura would probably scare people away and I'd cause quite a bit of a fuss.
Taking a peak, I saw them had in a small like card. It seems that was needed in order to get into the city.
"Next!" said the Register.
"Hello." I replied.
"I.D please." said the register.
"Sorry, I don't have one."
"Okay, stand still and take off your mask."
I did as I was told and silently prayed the people wouldn't be affected by my aura.
Taking it off as I was told, there was a sound of a click. He handed me a card that had my face on it with some questions on it.
"Fill it out and show me, then you're good to go."
The questions were simple and I answered them pretty fast.
He nodded signaling I was good to go, putting my mask on.
I minimized my aura as small as possible and luckily, no one seemed to be affected by it.
If they did, they'd probably be on the ground with a puddle beneath them.
I chuckled slightly at the thought.
Entering the big city, there was a sign that said Kingdom of Ingrassia.
This city looked much more developed than the places I've seen, it was much more elegant too. The city was flowing with many people from kids to adults and even elderly people.
I was walking around when I spotted something interesting, walking over.
I pressed my hand onto the glass and stared at the giant armor.
Rimuru sometimes talked about glass and how it was quite expensive and useful, though I would think otherwise. What interested me was the armor they had, it was similar to the ones in my past life but the armor here was greatly modified. It couldn't even be compared to karuta.
I started walking around more and tried to find something to do.
Suddenly, I felt an intense stare down on my back. This stare wasn't full of killing intent, it was full of curiosity and interest. I immediately turned around and the person who was staring was back.
'Sharp instincts.' thought the person who was stared.
That person must've been strong, I turned around pretty quick too. Only someone with experience could escape that fast, was there an event happening here?
I was now in front of a place, it had glass meaning this place was quite rich. I stepped forward and the door slid opposite ways letting me in without me needing to do anything.
This was quite...advanced.
I entered at made my way to the desk while looking around. There were silver objects in the air, a bright golden chandelier hanging, and the place was designed pretty well.
Not paying attention to what was in front of me, I bumped into someone with brown hair.
"Sorry, I wasn't looking." I said.
The brown haired person turned around and smiled slightly, "It's fine." He took a look at my mask and his expression twitched for a moment, "Come with me, you're looking for someone right?"
He can tell?
"Yeah, I'm not familiar around here." I replied.
"Then come with me." said the brown here. "But Gran-" Before the register lady could finish, the boy had already walked away with me following behind me.
I was on guard, there was no way he just wanted to talk when his expression twitched for a slight moment.
Once we entered a room, he suddenly swung a kick at me.
Though everything was in slow motion.
I tilted my body left and slammed his head onto the ground since I was way faster than him.
"Fool."
"Did you really think you could land a hit on me?"
"You'll need thousands of years of training before you can even land a hit on me, now why did you attack me?" I ask.
"That mask..it's similar to Shizue-sensei's." muttered the boy.
"You know her too?" I ask.
"Of course I do, she was my teacher."
"And she was my friend, though she passed away already."
His body relaxed when I said that.
"Are you calm now?" I ask getting off of him
He patted himself, "Yeah, sorry for the sudden attack without you explaining."
"It's fine." I replied.
"Let me introduce myself, I'm Yuuki Kagurazaka, the Grandmaster."
"I'm Shinju, Shinju Tempest. There are a few things I'd like to ask you."
"Sure but if it's not within my knowledge then I'm afraid I can't answer."
"That's fine. My first question is if you know anyone named Luminous Valentine?"
"Hmm, I think she's one of the most powerful demon lords, she resides in the Holy Kingdom Ruberium, West of us. That's all I know."
"I see, can you explain what the demon lords are?"
"Sure, demon lord a term used in two different fashions, either as a monster class or as a social position. In general, it refers to the strongest or highest ranking among monsters. Though it depends on the class of the individual or the level of them."
"True Demon Lord or Awakened Demon Lord is one of the ultimate forms of existence, only below True Dragons. It is usually the pinnacle a Monster can achieve by means of evolution."
"It is extremely difficult to fulfill all the conditions to reach this ultimate form of monsters. Even those who have lived for many eons are not guaranteed such status, either because they couldn't properly increase their strength or magicule capacity, or because they failed to fulfill some conditions." said Yuuki.
"Well that explains a lot, speaking of True Dragons. I heard that Veldora was one of them." I said.
"Yeah, along with 3 others that I don't know the name to. But due to Veldora's suddenly disappearance, there's only 3 True Dragons now." said Yuuki.
"I see, but one last thing." I said.
"What is it?" asked Yuuki.
"I heard that Shizue was a teacher at a school, mind telling me about it?"
"Sure, it's name is the Freedom Academy. I'm sure you've heard about it from Shizue already so there isn't much to explain. But the students there that Shizue-sensei taught had too much magicules in their body. It is said that they were going to die soon." said Yuuki.
"I see..mind letting me...teach them for a while? I'd like to see the students of Shizue."
He looked at me with a small smile and nodded.
And in about a week, I'll start teaching them.
But before that, there were things I wanted to do...
