Chapter 2: The Aristocrat
Stella and I walk at the magic academy which where I will work from now on. The sky as if cheering me on blows a gentle wind and the bird on the big tree are humming like they were singing.
Stella are still worried about me being instructor, because she knows what it needs to be a instructor of this magic academy. First quality is you must be a noble, aristocrat or highly skilled magus which I don't have, the second quality are quite demanding because you must need to be a knowledgable, presentable and pleasing to the eyes of nobles and aristocrat. Third and last, you must follow the school rules.
The school rules. It is a law created by the Queen herself. First is equal and fair treatment to Commoner and Nobles/Aristocrats. Second is you can't use magic when it's not necessary or permitted by the higher ups.
Simply the Queen herself is a person with Ideals. I imagine that she herself has many enemy because of her ideals.
So that is the reason why Stella looks so worried. I'm not Aristocrat or Noble which makes me unqualified, but since the school rule itself is promoting equal and fair treatment I just grab the opportunity of teaching.
And since I am going to teach students about basic knowledge of magic, I will have access on the library which is really helpful for my training. However, I am lying if I said that I'm not worried about those Aristocrats and Nobles.
Soon after, we reach the headmistress office.
A silver haired woman face me with a straight look, she is stunningly beauty like Stella. She's 27 like Stella and according to her, the headmistress is her rank S degree mate. She is Clarisse Von, an Aristocrat.
"Good day, Headmistress. I am Dale Mendez." I greeted her.
She just nod and look at me as if she want me to sit. I just look at Stella and she gestured me to sit. Stella really know the attitude of headmistress. I don't know if she's disgusted on me or what, she has the same look as soon as we enter this room.
Stella just sigh on my uncomfortable look.
"Clarisse, you'll make Dale walk out. You still have those look, I always told you to smile since you are the headmistress." Stella said to headmistress.
"I humbly apologize for making you uncomfortable, I am Clarisse Von. The headmistress of this academy." The headmistress said with a same face.
I don't know what to think so I just smiled akwardly, "Uhmm-, Headmistress, am I accepted on the job?"
She nod. Since the Headmistress seems busy, Stella gestured me to bid farewell.
"Clarisse, we'll take our leave. Don't forget, smile okay?" Stella said.
We bow at the headmistress and take our leave. I sort of understood why Headmistress is busy, the class F are bunch of low graded Nobles and Aristocrats and she is workin' on it while doing her job as a head. This academy works almost similar to normal school, what makes it different is the grading system and ranking.
Rank S, the most excelled and soon to graduate students. They are high breed Nobles and Aristocrats which makes them more qualified as a Rank S. The rankings are not based on social standing but by the power and intelligence. Rank S students usually are the supernatural magicians, they are physically trained and their magic capacity are enormous. Currently, there are 5 students in the academy who soon acomplished the requirements and graduate.
Rank A, not quite far from the Rank S. They are the next Rank S if they can pass the requirements as a Rank S.
Rank B, like the Rank A, it is basically the next from the line. But most likely, most of them are gonna stay in Rank B. Only high quality students are gonna pass the examinations.
Rank C, unlike Rank A and Rank B, Rank C are not taking the examinations. Rank C's most outstanding students are gonna picked off and moved them to Rank B immediately.
Rank D, most of them are physically trained and have low compatibility in magic. Some of them grew up to be a soldiers.
Rank E, they are smart but physically and their magic capacity are weak. Most of them grew up as a researcher or staff in the palace.
Rank F, they are the dreamers. When I said dreamer, they are literally dreamer. Those students are low type of Aristocrats or Nobles, they have enormous magic capacity and enormous magic on their bodies but it is too enormous to use, they are physically weak or so I say too weak. In short, they are here to be thrown out by their family because they are too ashamed to have a child like that. That's why I hated those type of people.
But back to the topic, I will be teaching those dreamers but in what way I will approach on those scarred students.
"Stella, you can go the palace now. I need to do something first." I said.
She's still worried based on her look. I just held her hand and give it a soft squeeze and smile at her.
"I'm gonna be okay."
She nod and take her leave. Being a knight of Queen is tiresome so I need to take this challenge on myself and promise to not bother or create trouble for Stella, She done more than enough for me.
I'm on my way to the F class building and I'm thinking how should I approach them. They are dreamers and they might want an high rank instructor, but instead they got me. The extent of teaching is only knowledge and I will not teach them about practical magic.
I gotta man this up. I will behave as a grown up and don't mind their insult instead I will just brush it off with sarcasm.
And a few minutes past, here I am. A small building but it is still a neat place.
I open the door and walk straight to the front. Most of the students are girls while boys are 1,2,3.... 7. 20 Girls and 7 Boys. I sigh, in these ERA boys are powerful compare to the woman and here I am.
"Good day! Dreamers. I am Dale Mendez your history and basic knowledge instructor. I bet most of you already recognized me."
They are looking at me and the boys are making a deliquent looks at me. Some of the girls ignoring me, and few of them are actually listening to me.
"F Rank Dale, right?" A man who seems to be the leader of the boys said.
"Yes, as you already know, introducing further is a bit much time consuming so we will move on to the lesson." I said.
And they are not listening now, all of them. I just look at them with disbelief on what I see. They given up. So where I am going to start. Those boys at the back looking at me as if they want me to go away, they are type of man who's full of ego.
I stared at them back. No matter who they are, if they're looking at me like that then so will I. I don't fear Aristocrats or Nobles because most of them are scum.
"Mr. Mendez are you staring back at us." The who seems the leader said.
"What if I am." I said.
I use my physical aura to see their power scaling. A lot of pressure comes out from me and I managed to get a look at their power scales.
The one who seems the leader has 90,000 magic capacity but he can only use 3,000 of it and that's the extent. In terms of physical scale, he is around 116. He is weak in terms of physical and magical, the normal people had 100 physical power and that's tge extent, while soldiers has 300-500 and Knights has around 500- and higher.
For me, I have 400 physical power and I'm in Knight class. That's the result of physical training I always had with Stella.
I coated my aura with natural power I can absorb in this state then look at him.
"Don't underestimate me, I have been chosen by the Headmistress herself for a reason. I may be too weak in terms of magic, but I have this trained body." I said.
They look at me angrily and decided to walk out. One of the girls look at me and when our eyes met, I saw a tragedy. I support myself from falling down because I'm having a headache due to unintended use of power.
What is she? My dark magic suddenly saw a glimpse of tragedy, is she from a race of witch?
