Chapter 2: Chapter 2 : A small issue
"these things are sharper than I thought" she said to herself with her head covered in blood. "but what do I do now? I'm still tied to this fucking wagon" she complained to herself while trying to wiggle free. as she looked around for anything useful she spotted a sheath on the dead man's waist. A small smile appeared on her face as she tried to free what looked like a dagger from the sheath with her feet. After a few minutes of attempts she was able to free it and bring it around to he hands. " fucking finally" she said with a sigh as she leaned down to grab the knife and start to cut the ropes.
After freeing herself she checked the man's body for anything else worth of value. she found a pouch containing a gold and a few silver coins, a small map, a compass and a handheld mirror. After searching the man's corpse she picked up his sheath and put the dagger away. "this could be useful in a little bit, even if its not really my style" she thought as she went to attach the sheath to her clothes. "oh yeah I forgot im still in this rag" she said while looking at the poor excuse of clothing she was wearing. I really hope he has spare clothes as I would rather not use his bloody ones" she thought with disgust visibly on her face as she looked in the corpses direction.
After searching through the wagon she found a decent set of clothes along with plenty of other miscellaneous items she has no use for. the clothes consisted of black jeans a white shirt of sorts black boots and course underwear. "looks like this nobody was a trader, no wonder he had quite a few sets of clothes". After examining her new clothes she pulled out the handheld mirror to see a relatively short girl no older than 16 with short white hair part of which was dyed red from blood, red eyes and two decently large red horns. "I guess i really am a demon now huh?" she mutter to herself while taking in her new appearance. "I should probably wash this blood off though I don't want to ruin my hair already".
" I do look pretty good though, I even think I prefer this body to my old one" she said with a accepting smile while playing with her horns. After admiring her new body she soon realised that she had a big problem as the reality dawned on her. she didn't know were she was. the only information she knew was a little about Oni's from a terrible source which was now a rotting corpse. "well shit. I'm not very lucky huh".she said as she looked outside to see a long gravel path surronded by a large forest. "out in the middle of nowhere with no distinguishable landmarks and barely any protection". she said with annoyed expression as she patted the dagger at her waist.
After a second of thought she pulled out the map and compass only to be disappointed to find that she couldn't figure out where she was as all. "goddammit, well atleast I'm on a road of sorts and the man did say he was on his way to a city" she said to herself as she put the map and compass away.
"well i have 3 choices". " I can try to make the trip on foot while pretending to be a traveller, wait for another wagon to get directions or I can hijack the wagon and pretend and pretend to be a trader." she mumbled to herself
"the second option is too risky as I could be waiting for months if they even use that kind of time measurement here" she said while rolling her eyes. "the third option is also too risky as there are alot of things I still don't know and i will be too suspicious if I don't know basic information a trader would know." I guess that just leaves the first option then" she said with enthusiasm as she stood up from the back of the wagon.
After putting anything useful she could find into a satchel she found she could carry the map, compass, mirror, bag of coins, a spare set of clothes and a day or two of food.
"I hope this will be enough last the trip, if not I can always hunt for food but I would rather it not come to that" she said to herself. just as she was about to follow the road north she spotted the 2 horses pulling the wagon. with a smile she walked over she took of the harnesses and proceeded to mount one of them. " since I helped you your going to need to help me she said" as she tried her best to keep her balance. " let's go, I promise I'll free you before I enter the city so don't worry" she said while patting the horse's neck.
"if only they gave me the knowledge of horse riding" she said as she struggled not to fall off as it started it started to move.
