Chapter 28: 28. Worries
"As promised, Alex will be given a chance in the Trail of Heroes". Hippolyta announced as she headed back to her chambers with an acknowledging nod at Diana and Alex albeit a bit unwillingly.
Alex then went back to his small home, followed by Diana. They quickly entered the house as Diana slammed the door shut.
"What do you think you were doing?!" She looked at him angrily as she said but her tone wasn't really angry.
"Like I said, I asked for your hand in marriage". Alex shrugged his shoulders as he explained.
"And what about your Girlfriends?" Diana asked as she gave him the side eye.
"What? Do you have a problem? I can satisfy all of you plenty enough". Alex shrugged his shoulders like it was a matter of fact.
"Is that so". Diana gave him a squinted smile without saying anything.
"I can though". Alex didn't mind her words and rested his case.
"Don't forget, you agreed to it". Alex said as he looked in her eyes with a smile.
"I never did". She snorted as she heard his words.
"Hehe, not denying is agreeing". Alex smiled shamelessly as he continued. 'Sometimes you have to be thick skinned and shameless to chase girls'.
"Hmph". Diana snorted again but didn't argue.
"You know, the Trial of Heroes is very dangerous on the soul. You shouldn't take this challenge". Diana advised with worry when she remembered the condition of successful engagement.
"Don't worry, I am not so fragile". Alex assured her as he didn't mind the danger.
"So when will it start. I can't wait to smash it in everyone's face". Alex said with excitement. 'Heh, Hate me all you want but I am still taking your princess'.
"It should take some time. You will probably start tomorrow". Diana said after some thought but the worry on her face was still there.
"Alright, since we have time. Let's go for a hunt". Alex said as he stood up from the chair and started walking towards the outside.
Diana wiped her drool and quickly followed behind him. Alex just makes very good food and he already conquered her stomach.
They quickly arrived at the small forest as Diana was still in her armour. They silently followed some trails and found a bear.
It was powerful enough to rip trees to shreds with one swing of its paw. It was enraged and tossing trees around like toothpicks.
"You go from the back and I will go from the front". Alex instructed and whispered to Diana.
Diana nodded as they both sprung into action. Alex dashed in front of the Bear and punched it in the face, making the bear go skidding back.
Diana kicked it in the spine and quickly fractured it. The Bear struggled for a while but died under their continuous onslaught.
"That was easy". Alex said as he lugged the Bear by its leg and dragged it back to his house with Diana following him.
They quickly arrived and Diana sat down on the Dining table in anticipation. Alex quickly skinned and drained the blood from the bear skilfully.
After cutting the meat, he decided to make Bear stew with the ingredients available. "Go grab me these if you want to eat". Alex as he handed a list of materials.
Diana didn't dilly dally and immediately ran out of the house. Half an hour later, she was back with everything.
She was holding things with her teeth as there was too much stuff to carry. The Amazons on the way were looking at her oddly.
"So you couldn't go without Ale huh". Alex said as he looked at the big barrel on her palm.
He quickly took everything and cut them up and started cooking Bear paws and stew separately for them.
A unique aroma wafted through the air as Diana swallowed her saliva and looked at the pot like a starving Dog.
Alex smiled and bought the pit to the Table and set it up there. After, he filled bowls of stew and bear paws for both of them.
"Let's dig in". With that they started gorging the food sown their throats.
They finished the quantity of food that would take 15 to 20 people to finish normally. After stuffing their stomachs with food and Alex. They were stuffed full.
"That was delicious". Diana complimented as she still felt the aftertaste in her mouth.
"Thank you". Alex nodded in appreciation as they were slumped on their chairs.
"Can you give me any hints on what this challenge is?" Alex asked as he wanted to get some info beforehand.
"You'll face two random heroes from Greek Mythology that will come at you with the intent to kill. So don't keep your hand against them. If you die there. Your soul will be obliterated". Diana explained as there was clear worry on her face.
"So take me as begging you. Please be serious when facing those heroes". Diana caught Alex's hands as she looked him seriously in the eyes.
"I will keep it in mind". Alex nodded back seriously as well.
'Not like I am going to need it as my powers only put burden on my body. Not my soul, So I will have Gold Experience take care of it for me, Muahahaha'. Alex laughed in his mind like a villain.
Both of them then spent some time together and just talked about some general knowledge of the outside world.
Alex told her about the results pf the World War and the ensuing Cold War. He also told her about all the different events in History and the current ongoing things.
"So, how many more Girls do you plan to have?" Diana asked suddenly as she quirked her eyebrow up.
"Hehehe, I don't know". Alex laughed as he scratched the back of his head.
"Wanna test my stamina?" Alex asked as he winked at Diana.
"Sure". Diana replied and started walking towards the bedroom.
"Eh". Alex was left dumbfounded when he heard her.
He didn't expect her to actually agree with his words so readily. 'I won't be a man if I can't even act now'.
Alex quickly caught up to her and held her waist with his arm.
They were drunk from drinking all that alcohol. So Diana was acting more bold at the moment than she normally would.
