Chapter 37: 37. Workout
(A/N: I wrote these Survival chapters when I kept Alex's age at 10 and forgot to change his ability according to his age but now I have changed it and previous chapters have also been edited. You guys can check.)
A teenager could be seen currently sleeping on a wooden bed with a hide rug laid on top of it to act like a mattress.
The teenager squirmed around for a bit and stood up from his bed a bit groggily. He yawned and stretched a bit.
"I miss my soft bed. Won't you say the same, Gold Experience". He said as he looked at the golden stand floating next to him.
'Only 5 more days left'. He said as he clenched his fist and felt the power coursing through him.
'I have killed 5 more hydras these past couple of days and gained about a hundred thousand tons of strength by sucking their life energy'. He thought as he felt his power had grown stronger.
'Too bad, I am only a match for a single adult Hydra at a time or my gains would be more plus I can only absorb so much'. he showed a regretful expression as he went to the makeshift bathroom to freshen up.
He brushed his teeth with a few herbs and took a herbal bath. After finishing with his daily routine. He got out and did a few stretches.
"Today, we will go to kill a Nemean Lion like Heracles". Alex cheered as he fist bumped with Gold Experience.
"I have already scouted their whereabouts and habits. We will target a relatively strong lion for my own sake because I can't live without a good challenge". Alex said and got ready to head off.
He quickly dashed and disappeared among foliage of the forest. He was quickly making his way and closing in on the Nemean Lion territory.
'An Armour of Nemean Lion hide will be the best choice ever'. He thought and hid behind a boulder and watched.
He watched secretly for a while as he knew that a new Lion had made this area his territory and would surely come here.
He soon saw a Lion with a full mane walking from the swaggeringly without a fear in the world. It was a powerful species and the literal king of the jungle because of its defence.
Alex stalked behind it as he literally appeared right behind it. He cocked his leg high up and infused it with Chi and Hamon to create a shockwave that will bypass its defence.
He kicked with all his might and struck it in the back unprepared. The Lion struck straight into the ground as a big pit formed around it.
Not giving it any time. Alex once again struck its head with a punch. This time, he was more experienced with the defence of its hide. So Alex was able to effectively bypass it.
Still, A Nemean Lion's defence wasn't for show and it took very low damage as it stood up straight and lunged at Alex with its sharp claws.
Alex quickly ducked as the Claws passed on top of his head and rolled below the Lion and struck its abdomen.
The Lion roared in pain as it kicked Alex with its hind legs. Alex backed off as he dodged and quickly struck the Lion again.
They went at it for quite a lot of rounds and Alex found out that he couldn't really kill it with its indestructible hide.
'I have to strike inside its mouth but that is too dangerous and I just want to keep this guy for now as a way to let off some steam'. Alex thought as he disappeared and retreated from the battle.
He quickly made his way back to the log house of his and took a bath to clear all the grime on himself. He had made some leather clothes for himself. So he had something to wear.
After resting for a bit. He stood up and went outside to arrange dinner. He had spent quite a while battling that Nemean Lion.
He quickly dashed into the Forest and looked for a good catch. 'Hmm, dear tracks'. He thought and followed after them.
'Oh, a herd. Just right for me'. He thought as he quietly approached one and took it away without the herd even noticing what happened.
After hiding behind a bush. He killed the deer and returned home to skin the deer and drain the blood in a nearby stream as it will make the meat taste better.
After finishing Dinner, he stood up to freshen up and rest on the bed. Suddenly, he perceived a relatively large threat near his log house.
Alex quickly got out of the house and made his way over to the threat cautiously. 'Just my luck, a fucking gorgon'.
He thought as he looked at the girly body with a human upper body and a snakes lower body. He was quite pissed about it as he was about to sleep.
'Now, how to deal with this. It's defence isn't as strong as the other two I faced but the petrification thing is annoying'. Alex was secretly following the Gorgon.
It slithered across the ground as it looked around like it was searching for something. "They said I can find him here". The gorgon said in a raspy voice.
'So it's here for me. Probably Zeus' doing'. Alex thought as he silently made his way behind the Gorgon.
'Gold Experience, punch it as soon as I give the signal'. Alex conveyed through his mind as he suddenly Kicked the Gorgon's head into the ground.
Gold Experience quickly took the chance and started punching the head wildly. "Muda Muda Muda Muda". It kept on repeating and punching.
The Gorgon was bouncing on the ground lightly as every punch shook it the core. It's skull cracked and it's petrification didn't work as it's head was buried in the ground.
Alex watched with his arms folded as the Gorgon was receiving the pounding of its life and the blood and bruises was all over its head and upper body.
After a few more punches, the Gorgon stopped moving and groaning as it went completely silent. There was not even a muscle twitch.
Alex waved his hand and stopped Gold Experience as he perceived that the Gorgon was truly dead now.
'Guess he wants to make it harder for me huh'. Alex thought as he lugged the Gorgon on his shoulder and headed home.
