Chapter 14: Interrogation Part 2

Junko spoke out passionately in parts and even seemed genuinely curious about my answer as she scanned my face for any changes in expression.
Images flashed through my mind as I remembered each and every kill and fright, all of the satisfaction I felt as I killed those who tormented me and even the innocent the looks of fear, despair, and finally the look they had as their life slowly drained away. The satisfaction I felt, the relief, I even felt some enjoyment within the moment now that I look back at what I've done

"Well that's easy, my aura simply gets stronger get stronger thr more lives I take, I'm not exactly sure on the specifics but I unlocked my aura after I scared my first victim to death."
Jared Dracul answered casually acting uncharacteristically laid back it was if he was confident that he had the power in thus discussion or perhaps he wasn't worried about something being done to him.
'If he wasn't so worried about being revealed he wouldn't of ran away initially so that's not it, he is more than likely putting a poker face on meaning he is going to lie, but I have Mukoro here to listen to his heart beat and if it races there is a fair chance that hes lying, and even if she can't sense an abnormality in his heart rate I shouldn't put much faith in what he says it could be nothing but an elaborate lie. But regardless of the how sound his responses may be.'
'Depending on how he answers my next question will decide whether or not hes worth allying with, even if his aura is so filled with despair the whole world will give me all the despair I'll need.'

I observed his reaction to my question and I noticed a smile filled with Malice, then mockery, and finally one filled with joy and perhaps bliss, his eyes seemed as if they shined ever so slightly beaming with joy whatever he was recalling was something that clearly brought him happieness.
I narrowed my eyes as I looked at his expression I felt as if I was close to remembering something and then memories flashed by quickly I began to recall where I knew him from.
A boy covered in blood and a smile of pure joy as he walked side by side a woman in a trench coat with her face completely covered and her hair hidden with a massive sun hat.
"You look so happy my lil Jared, did you enjoy having so much power that much."
The boy shook his head and then smiled.
"No I enjoyed watching him think he was safe, and then as soon as he realized he wasn't safe was just so amazing, what is that called mom?"
"Oh that's called despair, it's when someone loses all hope it's quite a beautiful emotion."
The woman looked at her watch and the hurriedly pulled out something that flashed briefly and from then after I could only remember waking up with Mukuro sitting by my side.
Another memory flashed by when a black haired crimson eyed kid helped me build my sand castle all those years ago and then there was Yasuke right next to him both happily talked all the while helping me.
And then there was nothing I felt like there was more missing yet I just couldn't recall.
'Damn it, it seems my memories might have been compromised it seems like I knew Jared since childhood. And it also seems hes been killing ever since he was a kid, and if what I just saw is the reality than he should say despair.'
'I need to figure out how this guy is even associated to me; especially with how I'm remembering things he seemed somewhat close to me. I should probably keep him within my sights as much as possible until I figure out if he needs to be eliminated due to the possible threat he poses.'

I became more absorbed into the scenes that replayed before me, replaying over and over again for some reason unknown to me each time seemed to bring more joy. Each time I felt my knife stabbing into flesh each attack I landed, each expression of horror, depsair, and pain each time my emotions seemed to be enhanced.
A faint dinging aound was heard throughout the recollection, yet I seemingly couldn't think.
Only one word came to mind without even a thought I answered instinctively.
"Despair."
Without even an ounce of hesitation the word flowed out of my mouth.

Well I hope you all enjoyed the chapter I revealed some things, such as part of the reason for the mcs fixation on Junko, it's something to do with his past and missing memories. But that plug aside I've got reasons for what I did, obviously this isn't an actual interrogation and Junko never really wanted information which will be revealed later but as you could probably tell her plan all along was to recruit the mc. Honestly both Junko and mc are both intelligent and similar in some ways.
Anyways in a chapter or two we will get some gory killings, or maybe three anyways within the next five chapters things are going to pick back up, and soon we get to the sweet. sweet killing game all of you Danganronpa fans are all waiting for. And mc may seem like he gave up, but honestly causing a commotion in daylight wouldve got him caught realistically and he was outmatched honestly if I made him fight back I'd have to end the story since he'd die.
