Chapter 113: Chapter 113 Whatever was happening
As his tongue was still exploring her mouth, he felt her struggle in his arms and he immediately pulled back. He had totally forgotten that she wasn't his and that it was supposed to be a peck. He saw her struggle to open the door and he thought that she was intending to run away.
"Li Fei I can explain," he said but she was fast on opening the door and unbuckling the seatbelt. Running outside, she bent by the roadside and started puking. On seeing this, he left the car and came to where she was bending.
He gathered her hair and held it as he rubbed her back not disgusted at all that she was puking. When she stopped, he asked," Are you done?" She slowly nodded and he let go of her hair before rushing to the car and came back with a water bottle. Handing it to her, she thoroughly rinsed her mouth before wiping her lips clean.
"You're okay?" he asked and she nodded. "Yes," she replied almost in a whisper and he saw that her face was pale. "We should enter the car. It's cold here," he said and she slowly walked to the car. He wondered if she hadn't found out that he had been kissing her. Thinking of it, he was glad that she woke up because he didn't know when and where he was going to stop. Tying her seatbelt, he started the car and she fell asleep again the moment they started moving.
On reaching their house, he carried her in his arms and walked inside. "Is everything okay with Ms Li Fei?" the butler asked the moment he saw them. "Yes. She just needs some rest. Can you direct me to her room?" "I will take you there. Please follow me," he offered and walked towards the stairs.
"It's this one," he told him as he opened the door. "Thank you," Jianyu replied before getting in. He laid her on the bed and properly covered her. After, he placed the pills on the bedside table and asked the butler for a bottle of water. His eyes scanned her room and he felt like it suited her.
Covered in different shades of purple, he noticed. "Jin Liwei, don't go," she murmured again and he clearly heard her. He recalled that he must have heard that name somewhere but he couldn't remember where exactly. He took a mental note to search for it.
When the water was brought, he placed it besides the pills and said," You will remind her to take this medicine incase she fails to see it." Looking at her for one more time, he left her room and closed the door behind him.
As he was moving out of the house, he met Mr and Mrs Li who had just arrived. "Yan Jianyu! What are you doing here?" Li Bao asked. "I had brought back Li Fei," he answered.
"Is anything wrong with her?" asked Li Mei.
"No. She just had too much to drink."
"Thank you so much. You're such a gentleman," Li Mei praised him. "You don't have to thank me it's no big deal. I will let you rest," he said bidding farewell. When he got to his car, he sighed hopefully praying that Li Fei doesn't remember what happened in the car.
"You realize that FeiFei has been unusually quiet these past days?" asked Li Mei as they walked to their bedroom, their footsteps fading away with their conversation. Zhan who had been eavesdropping came out of her hiding and walked back towards the servants quarters. Unbeknownst to them, the maid had seriously began following whatever was happening in the house.
In the morning, Li Fei woke up with a terrible headache feeling as though she was being hit with a hammer. Clutching her hair frustratedly, she groaned in pain and sat down then looked around the room. She slowly left the bed and walked to the bathroom. After peeing, she came back and it's when her eyes caught sight of the pills and water at her bedside table. She approached it and wondered what they might be for. But when she thought about it, they could be hangover pills placed there by her mother. She took them and a while later, she felt her body weaken and she succumbed to sleep.
Li Fei woke up in the afternoon and she felt better only that she was lazy. The first thing she did was to get her phone and she checked it only to find a number of missed calls from Jin Liwei. She called him back and he answered the moment it went through.
"Anything wrong?" he asked. "No. I was just sleeping," she replied. "Till this late? Are you sick?" he asked. "No, I think it was the effect of the pills," she blurted out but regretted the next moment. "Why did you take pills?" "I woke up with a headache."
"You drank at the party didn't you?" he asked.
"Mm. Just a little." "Liar. Are you alright now?"
"Yes, fortunately."
Jin Liwei ended the call saying that she had to get something to eat. She laid on the bed, feeling lazy to leave her room. She remembered being brought back by Jianyu last night and she decided never to drink much again. Calling the butler, she asked him to tell a maid to make her something to eat and bring it to her room.
Half an hour later, she heard a knock before the door was opened and the maid brought in food. "Thank you," she said when she placed it on the bed. "You're welcome," Zhan replied as she glared at Li Fei without her noticing.
When Li Fei looked at her, she smiled and she said," You can leave. Thanks again."
Zhan took a few steps towards the door and she thought of something before turning to say," Your boyfriend is very caring, Ms Li Fei. He carried you here yesterday night. You're lucky to have him." "Thank you but he's not my boyfriend. He's only my boss and a friend," she replied eating and Zhan smiled before excusing herself out of her room. The moment the door closed, the smile she had disappeared as she walked away. She had decided to first become friends with her so as to get more information from her.
