Chapter 41: The Talk
Asahi looked towards Milim who had asked him a question in a distraught voice. He smiled towards her completely unaffected by what he had done during the battle and said, "What Milim?" Carrera who read the situation was wise enough to back away to let them talk.
Milim answered in an unusually serious voice, "You know what I mean." as she looked at him, he answered back in a lazy voice, "Oh the killing? What about it?" Kumara was also paying attention to this conversation.
Milim clenched her fist, "Was that necessary?" Asahi thought for a bit before answering, "I guess not, it's just that it's been a while since I've let loose."
"So you do it normally?" she asked with a bit of frustration about this whole new side of his, "I suppose on a much smaller scale but yes." he replied not losing his smile he wasn't that worried, she was just trying to help him.
"Why?" she asked. "Why do I need to tell you?" he immediately answered back. "B-because I'm Milim goddamnit!"
"Calm down, I was joking I'll tell you it's not like it's something to hide, simply because I enjoy doing so", he calmly replied. "But why do you enjoy it?! that's what I'm asking?"
"Milim you're being too serious... As for why I enjoy it....." He had a thoughtful look on his face,"hmmmmm..... why do humans need to eat or sleep?"
Milim hearing his response looked at him with wide eyes, she understood what he meant by that sentence. It meant that it was in his nature to enjoy doing so, like it was her instinct as a dragon to seek out strong opponents and cause havoc, it was his instinct to enjoy the pain and suffering of others, this isn't something uncommon but to this extent? She had never encountered such a person before or if she had then she had forgotten it though that was unlikely.
"Would you try to change?" she asked him hopefully though she knew it was futile, hearing her words and looking at her Asahi scratched his head, "it's a request from Milim, but a difficult one, no an impossible one but....." seeing his hesitance Carrera interjected he would have outright rejected it normally, why was he hesitating she knew he would only show this reaction if one of the three of them asked him but they didn't mind it rather they liked it so they chose to accept him for it and to his sister only he mattered she didn't mind much like the two primordials, did he have feelings for her? "What are ya hesitatin' for?" her voice seemed to bring him out of his thoughts.
He looked at Milim and petted Kumara, sighing he shook his head, "Milim.....I can't, you might as well ask me to memory wipe myself and I still probably wouldn't change" he put Kumara back on his shoulder.
"But you're still Asahi right? you'll still smile like always right? you'll mess around and get punched right?" She asked him frantically.
'Looks like she still has a bit of naivety in her I don't mind it's cute, looks like this affected her more than I thought'
[Hmph! she should be proud master took a liking to her]
'You seriously need to tone down on the reverence'
[No!]
"Of course I'll be the same, this isn't something new it's from the time I was born, though that in itself is very questionable." he said shrugging. In response to this Milim gave him a bright smile and tackled him with a hug resulting in Kumara jumping on his face.
After a few moments he got up and fake coughed the atmosphere was turning too pink for him though he didn't really mind they were technically at war here even if said war was a joke to him.
'I feel like I'm creating a lot of problems for Rimuru, he lost a lot of his future worker force by killing everyone here and I've been taking strong subordinates for myself. Meh what can I do about it?' while Rimuru was one of his best friends he didn't really like his pacifist nature, furthermore it was not his job to hand hold Rimuru through everything, he helped him out some times but that's all he wasn't there to ensure Rimuru's progress he was here to mess around and kill stuff.
Asahi who was thinking was interrupted by Carrera who whispered into his ear while she looked at Milim chasing around Kumara, "Are you a lolicon? Should I be concerned?"
He turned towards her and grabbed her , looking into her eyes he said, "You, where did you learn that word?" she avoided his gaze as she said, "The Internet."
"Where exactly?"
"Nhentai"
"Noooooo my Carrera has been tainted!" Asahi cried, "Fuck you! who do ya think I am? A kid?"
"Right...I apologise." he said looking downwards, she gave him a kiss and said, "I-It was supposed to be a joke ya dumbass"
"I still can't understand your embarrassment after what we do every night." she gave him a murderous look, ' I don't think she likes it being called out ' while initially Carrera had acted a bit meek, after spending some time with him she had reverted back to her original personality because rather than see him as a superior like she saw Rimuru in the original, she saw him as an equal now and he was very glad about this, he would much rather have a lover that could get angry with him, rather than one who would follow his every whim like a doll with no personality.
"Alright I'm sorry." he said to her to which she just hmph'd away, he just smiled at her and looked at Milim who was looking at him now, all was well until she said, "Ne~ Asahi what do you do every night?" Asahi looked at her startled 'Are you fucking serious right now? I'll check?'
"Hey Milim! Where do children come from?" he asked her with a smile, "Hu! Hu! of course I know that the mother lays eggs and kids come out!" she looked quite proud of herself.
Carrera started laughing loudly while Asahi looked at the sky and said, "Of course this fucking happens!", deciding that he had nothing better to do, Asahi had 'The Talk' with her completely explaining everything in great detail, by the end of it Milim had a completely red face and had changed in to the school uniform Rimuru had once given her because she could just materialize any clothes she wanted. Asahi just looked like he wanted to kill himself while petting Kumara, and Carrera was still laughing at them.
All of a sudden, Rimuru's image flashed through his mind shown by Yog-chan, he was fighting against a long black haired man and was apparently having trouble.
