Chapter 15: 15. Shopping. Again.
We pulled into the mall as the girls looked around curiously. Laura had been raised in a lab her entire life and Wanda was stuffed in the insane asylum when her father couldn't use her powers as a child.
"Alright, Laura you cant show your claws to people Okay? however if you feel like you are in danger or someone attack you, then you can use them okay?" I tell the girl who nods.
"If there is anything you want then let me know and I'll buy it for you. However we need to get you clothes first okay?" I tell them.and they nod.
As soon as we exit the car however Laura grabs my hand and Wanda holds onto the back of my shirt looking around warily.
Seems they arent really used to people or crowds.
"It will be fine. If anything happens I'll take care of it." I assure them.
We make our way inside however we dont make it past the front door before laura spots the candy machines with sparkly eyes. "What are those?"
"Candy machines." I explain walking over and putting a quarter into the watermelon gumball machine and cranking the nob.
Out plops a watermelon gumball which I pop in my mouth before passing the two some quarters of thier own.
"The red ones are hot so you might not like them." I warn Laura.
Honestly I wasnt expecting my day to turn out like this. Feeding a wolverine style assassin candy and one of the strongest mages in the world.
They grab some M&Ms and gum before eating them happily.
"I'll get you guys some proper food, once we finish clothes shopping." I tell them.
After that we head to Hot Topics, I kinda expected Wanda to have that whole goth thing going on.
And I was 100% correct. Both of them quickly took a liking to the clothes, make up and other accessories.
I had to have Wanda help Laura with things like underwear and the like. I bought them purses and wallet and even book bags they liked so they could carry thier stuff around.
Laura took a liking to some plushies which I bought her.
Hard not to spoil them when they've had such shit lives. Besides it wasnt a loss to me, I could literally make money.
Gunna really need to look more into stocks though.
After that we hit up the food court where I grabbed them some pizza and sodas. You ever see the look on someone's face when they first try pizza? Its glorious, Angel's come down and music starts in the background...
After the quick meal, we went to the electronic store, I bought them phones to match mine and showed them how to use it.
We went out and put everything in the car before heading back inside.
"Where are we going now?" Wanda asks with a little excitement. This had been the best day of her life! No more asylum, her own clothes, her own room, delicious food! She never wanted it to end.
"The salon. You can both get haircuts, get your hair dyed and even have your fingernails painted. Remember no claws okay Laura?" I tell the girl who nods.
"Yes big brother I promise." She nods eagerly.
We head into the salon and they both pick out hair styles they like, along with colors for thier nails and toes.
Meanwhile I just tapped away on my phone.
Seems Jean and the other girls thought I was upset with them. Not really I was more pissed off at the pheonix which I'll be handling later.
Also they had found out about Laura and Wanda it seems.
They were trying to ask questions about them on the sly. Seems they were jealous a little.
I just grinned evily and went to play games on my phone.
Meanwhile the two girls were being pampered with scalp massages, manicures and pedicures, they whole nine yards. They were in a state of bliss.
"Hmm, I'll probably have to get a bigger vehicle, maybe a full sized van and my RV." I think before going to the car dealership page and looking up what they have.
I wasnt giving up on the mobile base idea. A fully kitted out RV bus would be Sweeet.
After reading the dimension creation magic book, I realised that I didnt understand shit! Fucking nothing! Sounded like gibberish to me so I needed to start from the bottom and work my way up.
About an hour later the girls finished up. Wanda looked like a punk rocker, and Laura kinda looked like a gothic princess with their new clothes and haircuts.
"You both look great. Now we should probably head home. You get to pick out your rooms and everything also you can meet the other people in the mansion." I tell them.
Wanda looked the most worried about that.
"Relax, they are nice people for the most part." I tell them before we head for the car.
On the way back we stopped off at the car wash and just relaxed for a couple minutes in the automated one. Gunna end up making this a habit.
As soon as we pulled into the mansion there was already a couple of people waiting curiously.
We exited the car however as soon as Laura spotted Logan, the claws came out and she was full on in defensive mode even giving off a warning growl.
I plopped my hand down on her head and she instantly reacted taking a swipe and my arm. There was a small splash of blood as apparently adamantium can cut through my skin.
Laura immediately realized what happened and sheathed her claws and looked worried.
"I'm sorry big brother!" She says frantically but my arm is already healed.
"Its fine, relax." I wipe my arm on my shirt showing the cut was already healed. "Can I ask why you did that?"
She quickly hid behind me. "He smells dangerous and something inside me went weird."
Her instincts perhaps?
