Chapter 22: The Main Event

The opening of Galaxy Star Seed Convention was quite simple.

Ton of fireworks everywhere, and a well-performed group of the Star God Realm's royal musicians playing music in the background. The royal dancers also danced accompanied the music.

It lacked the grandeur that the Profound God Convention showed in its opening. But even so, no one present underestimated this convention.

In fact, the lack of fanfare in the opening only sparked their curiosity even brighter than before.

It was a King Realm, after all.

Any realm with that caliber of might couldn't possibly present less than absolutely the best to the world. Especially if they had invited people from all over the world to their realm themselves.

This lackluster opening screamed arrogance that everyone seemed to hear echoing loudly in their heads.

"We are confident that none of you could refuse the rewards we are giving that we don't give a shit about the opening of our event."

Is what they hear when they saw the cheap fireworks exploded in the sky, and it's probably not far from the truth.

Galaxy Star Seed Convention was lacking compared to Profound God Convention in every aspect.

Perhaps it wasn't surprising, considering that Profound God Convention was a joint event held by every King Realms in Eastern Divine Region.

But people didn't care about any of that and attend anyway.

The Star God Realm had made it clear that the focus of this convention was to find rare talents that could benefit their realm.

"The Galaxy Star Seed Convention is open to everyone. Come participate for a chance to join us and get many other benefits. It's your once in a lifetime chance, so don't miss it."

With that words, a fire was lit in the hearts of independent profound practitioners and those hailing from smaller, weaker forces.

The Star God Realm had made it clear that their focus this time is exactly those kinds of people. They had even limit the participant of Upper and Middle Star Realms to two and four profound practitioners respectively.

As for King Realms, they weren't even allowed to participate.

They were bound to offend the King Realms that way, but they had quenched the almost lit explosive by saying that they will organize another event exclusively for King Realms.

Of course, that alone wasn't enough, and they had prepared a gift for every King Realms attending the event. As for what that gift would be, they would have to stick around to find out.

They only knew that it was something worth their time. Otherwise, the Star God Realm wouldn't dare made them all come all the way here and wait for a long time for a sub-par gift.

Lower Star Realms and weaker forces could have almost unlimited entry in this convention.

They could bring as many of their brightest students as they like, and they made people from Upper and Middle Star Realms envy them because they had to fight for their spots to represent their realms and sects.

Many of the independent profound practitioners and lower realm's profound practitioners also participated in this event.

There was another reason that made almost every single realm out there send at least a few people to Star God Realm, even if they weren't interested in the event itself.

It was because the timing of this event can't be a coincidence.

It had to have something to do with them using the Absolute Star Soul Barrier for a full week a few weeks ago, and they had come to learn the reason.

For some people, it was even more important than the event itself.

"Father, can I go with you?"

An anxious voice of a woman was heard as she trembled, barely string the words together into a coherent order.

"You can't, Qingyue. Look at the letter in your hands, they explicitly told us not to bring you otherwise they would kill you on the spot."

Xia Qingyue clutched the wrinkled letter in her trembled hands. The words were indeed written in the letter with such emphasize that it was impossible to miss.

"I know, Father. But I have to ask him myself what did I do wr--"

"Haahh."

Yue Wuya let out a heavy exhale as he sighed in exhaustion. He had told his daughter many times already, but she still insisted in coming along with him.

"I don't know what happened between you two, but something had obviously happened. Otherwise, there's no way a fearless young man that gave no face to me that time to bring you away would want to kill you now."

"You know me better than anyone else, Qingyue. You know how much I love your mother. I could see my reflection in him and that couldn't be faked. You know this yourself."

Xia Qingyue clutched the wrinkled letter some more. The words written in the letter in bright, bold red letters tugged at her heartstrings.

She couldn't forget what the content of the crystal she read that night. Reading this letter just made his words that night sting harder.

"But... But why..."

She bit her lips in an attempt to calm her turmoil heart. A single tear escaped the corner of her eyes, mocking her futile effort of suppresing her emotion.

"Why... That is a good question. I'm afraid that he's the only one that knows the answer."

Yue Wuya shook his head. He had scanned the crystal after finding out that it was the reason why Xia Qingyue's soul was fatally injured a few weeks ago.

And he knew why. It was no surprising.

The amount and concentration of hatred behind those three simple words were absolutely ridiculous.

It could make even a God Emperor like him shivering in fear and he wasn't even the recipient of that hatred. He couldn't imagine what it felt like for his daughter.

After seeing his daughter being heartbroken like this, his heart was also hurt. He knew that the stubborn girl would sneak out on her own to go meet the young man if he didn't do anything.

"You can't go with me, but I can ask him on your behalf, Qingyue. I can find out why he hated you so much, so you don't need to go there. Just stay here and wait for me."

He didn't tell her to continue practicing the realm's profound art because he knew it was impossible.

Her soul was still in such a mess that she could collapse any second.

It was already a miracle that her heart hasn't already being ravaged by a savage inner demon.

Yue Wuya told her attendants to watch over her before he left Xia Qingyue's palace. He had stationed eight Moon Gods to lock her palace down and be on guard so she can't think about doing anything funny.

Yun Che's hatred towards Xia Qingyue was real. It was even more intense and scary than anything he had experienced so far.

It was no joke. Yun Che would really kill her if he saw her. The people from the Star God Realm would kill her because Yun Che had told them to.

It was better to learn the reason himself. He had investigated everything and came out to the conclusion that Yun Che's hatred was only focused on Xia Qingyue, not the Moon God Realm itself.

That puzzled him, but it was good. At least the young man wouldn't do anything to harm the Moon God Realm.

Xia Qingyue sit in her chair lifelessly as she stared at the open window of her room.

The moon still hung high in the sky even though it was noon. The sky was painted in a beautiful azure color as the moon shined its beautiful purple moonlight.

The gentle moonlight shined through the open window and landed on her tear-stained face.

It felt warm and gentle like a mother's embrace. It comforted her hurting heart, but all that did was breaking the dam she had held with all her might from erupting.

Tck.

A single tear fell on her beautiful dress she had spent all this morning preparing.

Then another, and another.

Hear tears slid on her cheeks, forming two endless streams of tears.

In Star God Realm, people were very excited. The lower and independent profound practitioners were under a hefty stress trying to contain their excitement.

They had to mind their manners, being careful not to offend people from the higher realms.

But some were brought up from crude environment, and they weren't the brightest when it came to complex and delicate things like manners.

They shouted and screamed loudly, being very honest with their emotions.

But the many Star God Realm's students didn't mind their boorish manner at all.

They didn't even harbor a disgusted expression on their faces like a king realm's students should towards lower profound practitioners, either.

Their face was stoic, and the only thing they care about was to enforce the rules of the event and make sure it ran smoothly.

Seeing this, the lower and independent profound practitioners were happy. It was clear to see that the Star God Realm's students had already been ordered to behave the way they did by the higher-ups.

The fact that they were doing that spoke volumes of how much they valued this event.

Their excitement had reached a new height following this.

People were cheering and shouting as the royal musicians playing music and the dancers danced on the stage.

The stage that will be used to fight was huge.

If there's one thing the Galaxy Star Seed do better than the Profound God Convention, it was the stage.

It was entirely made from a rare material known as "Astro Dust Steel", one of the premium products of the Star God Realm.

The stage was a few hundred kilometers wide, and with its thickness, not even an early Divine Master could make it crack.

The Astro Dust Steel was rare in primal chaos because it can only be found in some subsidiary planets the Star God Realm controlled.

For the Star God Realm, however, the material was abundant and they were overflowing with it. They almost didn't feel a thing when being ordered to make this stage a few weeks ago.

It was such a cheap price to flaunt their might to the world. It also worked as a deterrent to anyone that has any funny idea towards the realm.

It told the world that the Star God Realm is still powerful and wealthy, even after they had spent a lot of resources erecting the Absolute Star Soul Barrier.

The realm kings of various realms and sect masters were busy socializing with one another.

An event such as this was prime time to build social connection, after all. No one would miss on this opportunity to expand their social network.

The stage was raised higher than the ground so that people can see it better even from afar.

There were seats arranged in rows on the ground. There were also premium seats on platforms that were built surrounding the stage.

The platforms were a few hundred meters high, supported by pillars made from the same Astro Dust Steel.

The Star God Realm had scrambled to utilize every human resources they had to build this place in a short time.

They called it the Collossus, as suggested by their new Crown Prince.

The loud clamor and chatter died down in an instant. Emerging from the doors in the platforms were people with scary presence.

They were the strongest profound practitioners of this universe, the undisputed rulers of the heavens and earth.

The King Realms entered the Collossus with dignity befitting of their lofty position.

Every King Realms attended this event, because they were wary of whatever the reason was behind the Absolute Star Soul Barrier.

They sat in their designated seats elegantly. There was no need for them to greet each other because they had already did so in the waiting room behind the platforms.

They had exchanged pleasantries to one another, and they had chatted until it was time the opening was over.

People waited with bated breath as they could hardly contain their excitement.

The same beautiful Star Guard from before walked to the middle of the stage.

She wore a gorgeous dress, her elegant and noble figure were very refreshing to look at.

The royal musicians and dancers retreated respectfully as the Star Guard approached, giving the stage all to the beautiful Star Guard.

"And now, with the opening ceremony of the event over, let's get to the main event!"

People cheered once again, uncaring of how unsightly they look. The long awaited event was finally here.
