Chapter 4: LDS Invasion!
The Next Day at Maiami City Airport
3rd Person P.O.V
Following his superior order, Reiji Akaba's orders, Nakajima was awaiting the arrival of the highest ranking person in LDS apart from the President next to a luxurious limo. Although the heat was quite intense, the burly man showed no discomfort whatsoever.
After several minutes, Nakajima spotted the jet belonging to said person slowly descending to the landing pad, before coming to a complete stop. Immediately afterwards, its side door opened, out of which emerged a woman with magenta, heart-shaped hair and blue eyes clad in a dark pink blouse and skirt. That person was the chairwoman of LDS, Himika Akaba. Nakajima rushed to meet her, inclining his head slightly before her. He then opened the door of luxurious limo as they both entered the limo.
Nakajima:Congratulations on the successful company merger, Chairwoman Akaba
Nakajima praised with a smile on his face as the limousine began driving towards the tower of LDS.
Himkia: Thank you, Nakajima *Smiled* Everything is proceeding according to our plan. With this, LDS is one step closer in having its presence all around the world. Such preparations are necessary to form strong alliances and to nurture more Duelists for the upcoming battles.
Nakajima: I'm sure the President will be pleased to hear that. But... *Hesitated to speak*
Himika: But what? Did something happen while I was away?
Nakajima: I didn't want to bother you since you were busy with the negotiations and everything. Truth be told, there have been several... incidents over the past week that I believe that would interest you
Himika: Incidents... you say? What kind of incidents?
Nakajima gave her a brief summary of everything regarding the sudden emergence of a new form of summoning.
Nakajima: However, keep in mind that I'm not fully informed about all the details surrounding this case. For more details, you should speak to the President
Himika: "So it would seem..." *Frowned*

Reiji: Welcome home, Mother
Reiji greeted respectively, but he noticed his mother's concern expression.
Reiji: You seem to be in an awful hurry
Himika: Reiji-san, is what I heard from Nakajima true? Apart from Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and a new summoning method appeared?
Reiji fixed his glasses before responding.
Reiji: Yes, Mother. Its first recorded use was about a week ago
Pressing a button on a remote, Reiji showed his mother a playback of Yuya's Duel with Strong Ishijima, where Yuya used Pendulum Summon in order to win the match.
Reiji: It appears this new summoning method is called Pendulum
Himika: Pendulum?
Reiji: It involves placing two special Monster cards called Pendulum cards into your Duel Disk. Then, you can Special Summon multiple high-level monsters whose Level is within the Pendulum Scale without tributing. It's something that has never been observed before so far
Himika had a look of apprehension on her face.
Himika: But how is this possible? How can a new summoning method suddenly just appears out of nowhere?
Reiji: To be honest, we're not sure, we're still trying to figure out that part, but with the collected data and analysis, we are able to grasp the concept of this new summoning method. As the matter of fact, we already developed the first prototype Pendulum cards that are already done and testing it
Himika: Excellent work as always, Reiji-san "Praised with a smile"
Reiji: But, the problem is the duelist that discovered Pendulum Summon
Reiji pressed another button on a remote, showing Yuya's profile on the screen.
Reiji: The originator is named Yuya Sakaki, a 14 years old boy in the Junior Youth class who attends You Show Duel School, a small Duel School which focuses on Entertainment Duel.
Himika: *Astonished* It says here his win rate is less than 60%. He's nothing special. How can such an average Duelist belonging to Junior Youth able to create a new summoning method?
Reiji: That's because he's the son of that Yusho Sakaki...
Himika: Yusho Sakaki, you say? *Gaze hardened* He's the son of that famous duelist who vanished three years ago and may have joined the enemy?
Reiji: It's still too soon to rush into conclusions about that
Reiji commented as he pressed another button on a remote, showing Y/N's profile on the screen.
Himika: Y/N Truesdale, a 18 years old that also attends You Show Duel School *She turned to Reiji* He seem older than the other students and even you, but what make him so special?
Reiji: It's because he's a Fusion user
Reiji explained, prompting Himika narrowed her eyes in curiosity.
Himika: He's a Fusion Duelist? Does that mean he's from-
Reiji: We have suspicious that he was from the Fusion Dimension or another dimension but we are not sure about it. If he is an ally or enemy, but he doesn't appears like one to me
Reiji interrupted as he pressed another button on a remote, showing Y/N's deck on the screen.
Reiji: His Deck is seem to be a Cyber based Monsters, which focuses on Machine-Type Monsters and he use a Dueling Style with it called "The Cyber Style". It's a style that seem to do Beatdowns and OTK Tactics
Reiji continued as he pressed another button on a remote, showing Y/N's Ace monster on the screen.
Reiji: His Ace monster is called Cyber End Dragon. When Y/N Truesdale summoned this Card in Maiami City, they were released most energy unlike Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and even Pendulum. When Cyber End Dragon appeared, our systems will overheat
Himika gasped in surprise at Reiji's elaboration.
Himika: I'm admitting that this Y/N Truesdale seems interesting. *A smirk appeared on her face*
Reiji: If we can convince him to get into LDS, then we might have a chance to get his true identity.
Reiji turned off the screen with a remote on his hand, before turning to Himika.
Reiji: Also, another matter we need to discuss, Shingo Sawatari, alongside with three other students were assaulted yesterday by a mysterious Duelist. Futhermore, the attacker was an Xyz user whose summoning energy was also abnormally high
Himika: And how are these matters connected?
Reiji: Shingo Sawatari and the three students insist that Yuya Sakaki was the one who assaulted and threatened them *Fixing up his glasses*
Himika: Is that so...? *A devious grin appeared on her face*
Reiji placed a hand over his face and sighed, not wanting to know the answer.
Reiji: I know that expression, Mother. What are you plotting
Himika: Reiji-san, while it's horrible that our precious student were attacked with one of them injured and ended up in the hospital. But, there's a golden opportunity and I know just the way to capitalize on it...

Y/N's P.O.V
Currently me and the others are in a classroom at You Show with Shuzo giving us a lecture on Summoning Methods.
Shuzo: Today, we'll be going over various forms of Summoning Duel methods! And start it off, Normal Summon! This is the most common form of Summoning, where you take a card from your hand and place it on the field in face-up Attack Position! Next up is Tribute Summon! *He turned to Tatsuya* Tatsuya, can you explain what it is?
Tatsuya: *Stands up and smile* Yes. Tribute Summon was a form of summoning from the hand, where you call forth Level 5 or 6 monster by tributing one monster already on your field… or with a Level 7 or higher monster, you use two monster to tribute!
Shuzo: *Smiled* That's right. Good. You've been studying
Shuzo then look around and everyone was bored including me.
Futhosi: This lecture is boring
Ayu: I already know this
Meanwhile, Sora mixed up his ice cream and custard pudding together behind a textbook. Yuya and Yuzu were seated next to each other as Yuzu wasn't paying attention in the class and was in a daze probably think about Yuto Duel from yesterday.
Sora: "I fuse Vanilla Ice Cream and Custard Pudding in order to Fusion Summon! Be eaten, Prince of Sweets, Vanilla Pudding!… Mm… It's so delicious!" *Sigh happily*
Yuya: "Hey, you shouldn't do that…"
Sora: "Of course I should! It's so yummy! You wanna try a bite, Yuya?"
Yuya: *Frowned* "No way! Besides, if I ate during the lecture, Yuzu would bring the paper fan to smack me like usual…"
Yuya glance at Yuzu to see her being silent and oblivious to Sora was doing at the moment.
Yuya: "she's been pretty weird since yesterday."
Tatsuya then came up with an idea that everyone would like.
Tatsuya: How about Y/N-oniichan gives the teaching for today?!
Y/N: *A bit surprised* Me?
Sora stop eating his Sweets and encourage Tatsuya idea on me teaching the class.
Sora: Come on Y/N, you told me you know much about summoning methods. You should go
Shuzo: *Excited* Go ahead Y/N!
Y/N: Very well
I got up from my chair and went behind from the front desk.
Y/N: Okay. First, let's start with Ritual Summon. To Ritual Summon, you need three things. A Ritual Spell Card, Ritual Monster in your hand, and the appropriates Monster by tributing them from your field or hand. Then you activate the Ritual Spell card to sent those tribute monsters whose Levels must equal to or greater than the Levels of the Ritual Monster you're summoning to your graveyard and summon the Ritual Monster from your hand. Example, I want to summon a Level 8 Ritual Monster from my hand. I can activate a Ritual Spell and send one Level 8 Monster or 2 Level 5 Monster in your hand or on your field then Summon the Ritual Monster from your hand
Everyone nodded on understanding how to Ritual Summon.
Y/N: The Next is my favorite type of Summoning Method is Fusion Summon. To Fusion Summon, you need three things. A Fusion Spell Card, Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck, and the appropriates Monster as material from your field or hand. Then you activate the Fusion Spell card to sent those material to your graveyard and summon the Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. That's the most common way to Fusion Summon
Yuya: *Confused* Most common way? There are the others?
Y/N: Yes. Archetypes focused on Fusion Summon usually have their own Fusion Spells allowing them to send the Fusion Materials from the Deck to the Graveyard, banish them from the Graveyard or shuffle back the banished monsters to the Deck and there are some monsters that have effect to allowing you Fusion Summon, most of them using themself
Yuya seem to understand and nodded.
Y/N: To close the chapter of Fusion Summon, there is also an advance way to Fusion Summon called Contact Fusion
Everyone was interested, especially Since they saw me perform one on my Duel with Yuya. But Sora appeared to be the interested in this topic.
Y/N: Monster that have ability to Contact Fusion doesn't need a Fusion Spell card. All you need to do is shuffle those monsters from the field back to your Deck or send it to graveyard or banish them then you Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck
Sora raised his hand up.
Y/N: Yes Sora?
Sora: *Curiously* We know that you can Contact Fusion. But, have you ever face Duelists that could use Contact Fusion?
Y/N: I had seen a few Duelists that could Contact Fusion back in my hometown. And I faced them before
Sora was satisfied with my answer and nodded.
Y/N: The next is Synchro Summon. To perfrom Synchro Summon, you need a tuner monster and any number of non-tuner monsters on your field. Then you tune those monsters and then you Synchro Summon a monsters with a level equal to the combined levels of your Synchro Materials. Example, I want to Synchro Summon a level 7 Synchro Monster and I have level 4 tuner Monster on my field, I either need one level 3 monster or one level 2 monster and one level 1 monster or three level 1 monsters that aren't tuner on my field
They nodded in understanding the basic of Synchro Summon.
Y/N: Like Fusion Summon, there are two advanced ways to Synchro Summoning: Accel Synchro and Double Tuning. Double tuning is Synchro Summon when you use two tuner Monsters instead of one tuner Monster but if your Synchro Summon specifically requires two tuner Monsters to Summon it. While Accel Synchro is Synchro Summon when you use one tuner Synchro Monster and at least one non-tuner Synchro Monster that also specifically need those materials
Sora: *Surprised* Wait a second! There's a Synchro Tuner Monster?!
The others was surprised as Sora too.
Y/N: Yeah. Synchro Tuner Monster usually doesn't have high ATK and DEF but it have powerful effect to support Accel Synchros. Some Synchro Tuner Monster have ability to Synchro Summon in your opponent turn
Ayu raised her hand.
Y/N: Yes Ayu?
Ayu: Did you faced Duelists that use those two Synchro Summoning method?
Y/N: I never face them yet. Now the last of the four type of Summoning Method, Xyz Summon
When I mentioned Xyz Summon Yuzu snapped out of her daze and began to follow the lesson as Sora look displease on learning it.
Y/N: To perform a Xyz Summon, you need to have a certain number of monsters who have the same level on the field depending how many your Xyz monster requies, then Overlay them to Summon an Xyz Monster with a Rank equals to the monsters Level used for Xyz Materials while those monsters turned to Overlay Units
Futoshi raised his hand
Y/N: Yes Futhosi?
Futhosi: What are Ranks? Does Xyz monster don't have Levels?
Y/N: Xyz monsters doesn't have Levels, instead they have a black stars on their left side called Ranks. This gave Xyz monsters a immune on effect that affecting Levels. There is a rumour about Xyz monsters being Level 0 monsters but those are false
Yuzu: What are Overlay Units?
Y/N: Monsters that used as Xyz Materials don't leave the field. They attached to your Xyz monster as orb of light. Normally, if Xyz monster wants to use their effect, they must detaching at least one overlay unit. But, there are some Xyz Monster that don't need to detach overlay unit to activate it's effect
Yuzu nodded and understood the answer to her question.
Y/N: Like Fusion and Synchro, there are advance ways to Xyz Summoning called Rank-Up-Magic. Rank-Up-Magic is a spell card used on Xyz monster to summon another Xyz monster with a couple of times higher than your previous one, using that Xyz monster as materials. Also there are some Xyz monster that can be summoned by Overlaying another Xyz monster and used them as Overlay unit
Tatsuya raised his hand
Y/N: Yes Tatsuya?
Tatsuya: How do you know this much about the different Summoning Methods? Are you perhaps joined another Duel School before you came here?
Y/N: As I said at our first met, I didn't join any duel school before I came here. My friend taught me and the rest I learning by myself
Everyone was surprised at my answer.
Yuzu: *Disbelief* Really?! Only your friend taught you and the rest by yourself ?!
Y/N: Yeah. When I was 8, my friend introduced me to the Duel Monster game. I remember when he give me my first Deck and taught me how to use it until I understand how to use that deck. After that, he challenge me to Duel and as you expect, I lose so badly. After that, I'm searching and learn everything by myself and became someone who knows everything about Dueling and the different Summoning Methods
Everyone believed in my answer and nodded.
Y/N: *Smile a bit* Well I think that's enough. Thank you for listening
I bowed as everyone clapped their hand. The mood were good until... we heard Gongenzaka shouting.
Gongenzaka: Ambush you say?! Yuya never do something cowardly like that!
Yuya stands up from his seat.
Yuya: *Surprised* Gongenzaka?
Then everyone headed to the source of the sound and found Gongenzaka arguing with three Sawatari underlings.
Shuzo: What's going on here?
Gongenzaka: Principal! I, the man Gongenzaka, was on the way to You Show when I saw the three underlings of this Sawatari. They said that Yuya was ambushed Sawatari! That's unforgivable!
Shuzo: *Shocked* Ambushed?!
Yuya: *Shocked* I did?!
Underling 1: Yes! And don't say you forget about it!
Underling 2: And it wasn't just us! Six people witnessed the tragedy! Us three, Sawatari-san, Yuzu Hiragi and Y/N Truesdale!
Shuzo: Is true Yuzu, Y/N? You saw the culprit?
Underling 3: Of course they did! The culprit is Yuya Sakaki! Poor Sawatari-san. He's got hospitalized because the injuries *faking on being sad*
Yuzu: *Shocked* Hospitalized?!
Y/N: *Annoyed* Are you three fools done dramatizing? This is getting annoying
Making everyone turned on me when I said that.
Underling 1: *Angrily* What do you say?!
Y/N: You three are lying about the story. First, Sawatari wasn't injuried at all. Only his jacked got damaged and I bet he's just relaxing in hospital right now *The three Underlings grunted*

Sawatari: *Sneezed* Achoo!
Sawatari sneezed as he was about to take another bite from the delicious fruit severed to him, his fake casts removed from his arms and legs.
Sawatari: Is someone talking about me?
Sawatari wondered with his usual self-absorbed attitude.
Sawatari: Maybe my fans are worried about my health. Ah, being so popular is a sin…

Y/N: Second, about the culprit. He has same face as Yuya? Yes. But what about the others? I remember he had grey colored eyes, a black and purple hair, different outfit, different Deck, and can use Xyz summoning while Yuya was unable to use it. Unless you three are completely color blind or Yuya can use magic to change his appearance instantly there was no way to think it was Yuya. And the fact Yuzu was with Yuya all the way back to the warehouse and I Dueled the culprit was more proof that culprit isn't Yuya. And I'm sure this tragedy is Karma to Sawatari
Underling 3: *Shocked* What do you mean?!
Y/N: From what Yuzu told me, Sawatari was the first was attacking Yuya. By faking being Yuya's friends, stealing his Pendulum Cards and Dueling him with children's life at stake. I think it's a fair enough. *I turn to Yuzu* Yuzu, you also saw everything right?
Yuzu: *Hesitated* Well...
I mentally slapped my forehead on Yuzu still being unsure about Yuto being Yuya.
Underling 2: But still we will not let you get away with this!
I then narrowed my eyes and glared at them like I was about to ripped them into pieces.
Sawatari's Underlings: *Scared* 'W-what the hell is up with this guy?'
Ayu: *A bit scared* "Kirihito-nii chan can be so scary sometimes"
Everyone nodded in agreement. Even Gongenzaka.
Underling 3: *Fearful* W-whatever! I-if something happens on Sawatari-san, the police will arrest you
Shuzo: *Panicked* Police?!
He heard police sirens passing by, causing him to feel confused.
Shuzo: Kirihito, kids, please explain to me what's going on! From the top!
Everyone sighed at the principal's misunderstanding as a voice rose up, making her response.
???: I would be happy to give you an explanation
Everyone turned around and saw luxurious limo arrived with a woman coming out. She looked like a serious and fancy woman with a scary looking expression.
Y/N: 'Himika Akaba...'
Shuzo: *Shocked* You're from… LDS!?
Himika: Yes. I'm Himika Akaba, the current Chairwoman of LDS
Everyone headed back to the main lobby of You Show, where Himika talked about that incident that Sawatari's underlings were talking about earlier.
Himika: Everything the boys said is true. One of our LDS students, Shingo Sawatari, testified that he was assaulted, and the culprit was none other than Yuya Sakaki, who attends your You Show Duel School
Shuzo: *Sigh then turn to Yuya* Well, Yuya? Did you really do it?
Yuya: I would never do such a thing! I didn't assault Sawatari!
Gongenzaka: I, the man Gongenzaka, believe my friend Yuya! Don't you guys!
Gongenzaka assured, before turning to others.
Ayu: Yuya-oniichan never do such a thing like that!
Ayu added, while Futoshi and Tatsuya nodded along.
Gongenzaka: What about you, Yuzu?
Yuzu to blink in surprise, before she hesitated in her answer once again. But, after listening what Y/N said earlier, She was sure the culprit isn't Yuya.
Yuzu: *Smile* I believe in you Yuya!
Y/N: I also believe Yuya. He's an Entertainment Duelist not a merciless and ruthless one
Yuya: *Astonished* "Y/N..."
Himika: Well, well. It seems they're pretty close. It seems unreasonable to ask you to hand Yuya-kun over. But… We cannot back down from this either *She frowned* If rumors spread that the LDS students lost a Duel, the school's reputation as the Number One Dueling School would be several tarnished
Shuzo: But we keep telling you that Yuya didn't-
Himika: That doesn't matter anymore!
Himika interrupted Shuzo's words with a furious expression.
Himika: The issue is that the symbol of LDS has been dragged through the mud! As such, the only way to clear this disgrace is through a showdown between the schools!
Shuzo: A… showdown, you say?
Y/N: *Narrowed my eyes* So, you finally showed your true colors, Akaba-san?
Himika: My, what are you talking about, Y/N Truesdale?
Y/N: From the start, this incident was not about Sawatari or LDS's reputation. What you want is Yuya's Pendulum Summoning method for LDS, so you are using this case as an excuse to accomplish your target. Am I right?
Amidst the shocked silence that ensued, Himika remained silent for a while, but eventually spoke.
Himika: appears you are smarter than someone, Y/N Truesdale. Perhaps Reiji-san was right about you after all
Y/N: 'He must've have investigate my sudden arrival and me... As expected of Reiji...'
Before I could ask her what she meant, but Himika cut in.
Himika: If your school win, we will ignore the case concerning Shingo Sawatari *She make a sly smile* However, if we win, this You Show Duel School will become a part of Leo Duel School!
Needless to say, everyone was astonished by this sudden announcement except Y/N's gaze hardened at Himika. Shuzo cut in from the side.
Shuzo: Did you perhaps orchestrate the assault on Sawatari for that purpose?
Himika: That's no the case!
Himika denied Shuzo's accusation.
Himika: However, it's true that I took full advantage of the chance given to me. As Trusdale-kun said, my aim is for the Pendulum Summon wielded by Yuya-kun to be incorporated into LDS's curriculum and become one of pillars supporting it alongside Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz. Furthermore, there are quite a few Duelists out there aspiring to use Pendulum after all. Isn't that case for you as well?
Himika's questions are addressed to the younger students of You Show.
Tatsuya: B-but it's impossible if you don't have Yuya-oniichan's Pendulum cards…
Himika: That can also be resolved through the power of Leo Corporation. That's why it's necessary for us to unite
Himika glanced at Yuya and me, making a thought about them carefully.
Himika: 'And once we join as one, I can do more through investigation into what exactly Yuya Sakaki and the new Duelist Y/N Truesdale is. Are they enemies to Reiji-san and I? Or are they…?'
At this point, I was now tired and annoyed of this fancy woman's insufferable posturing. However, before I could give her a piece of my mind, Yuya beat him to it.
Yuya: Dueling isn't a tool for fighting! *Grasping his pendulum* But, I don't want You Show Duel School and Pendulum Summon to be taken away by someone else! This Duel School was created by my father to teach everyone that duels are to be enjoyed and brings smile to others! There's no way I'll give it to someone like you, who thinks they can control anything through money and power!
I disliked the naïve sentiments about Pendulum Summoning, but I admitted Yuya's fighting spirit is powerful in the face of adversity.
Gongenzaka: Well said, Yuya!
Gongenzaka placed his hand on Yuya's shoulder.
Gongenzaka: I, the man Gongenzaka, agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment! I'll also fight alongside you to defend You Show!
Sora: But aren't you an outsider?
Sora pointed out, causing Gongenzaka to freeze with his mouth hanging open.
Sora: Since the challenge was directed to You Show, it's strictly Yuya, Yuzu, and I that should fight as its students, right? Maybe even Y/N if we're pushing it. But as for me, I always wanted to fight against an LDS students."
Gongenzaka: T-to think you would exclude a man such as I, Gongenzaka!
Gongenzaka commented with a furious expression on his face.
Gongenzaka: That's unforgivable!
Himika: It would seem that the students of this school all feel the same about this matter
Shuzo: I, too, feel the same as them…
As everyone gathered around the principal, saying their words all at the same time to confirm their decision except me, where I stood behind the wall to see this scenes with a small smirk on my face.
Everyone except Y/N: We won't… give you our You Show Duel School!
Himika sighed in defeat with the talk, before she made her suggestion.
Himika: Then… Shall we get started?
Following Himika's declaration, everyone moved to the Real Solid Vision duel field, where they were introduced to LDS's respectives, who were allegedly at the top of their respective summoning courses, Hokuto Shijima, Yaiba Tōdo, and Masumi Kotsu.
Himika: It will be three verses three. First to get two wins is the winner, is that clear? So, who will participate first?
Sora almost instantly raised his hand.
Yuya: I will go first!
Yuya declared, startling Sora in surprise.
Himika: Naturally… the other two didn't seem very reliable, after all. You two probably thought that by one of you earning a win from the beginning, the other students would-
Himika started confidently, only for Sora to protest on her words.
Sora: *Annoyed* Whoa there! What do you mean about that, granny!? You don't know how strong I am!
Sora snapped, only for Yuzu to stop his small tantrum.
Yuzu: Ah ha ha… Be good
Yuzu warned as she placed a hand on Sora's head, much to his protest.
Himika: Even so, it would be in your interests to not assume you will win easily. They are all in the same Junior Youth Class as Yuya-kun, and all of you maybe besides Y/N. But, they are also top aces of LDS pride ourselves in each of our courses. Yuya-kun's opponent will be… Hokuto Shijima from LDS's Xyz Course!
Yuzu: *Surprised* Xyz?
I frowned at the tall purple haired boy, before scoffing in a silent tone.
Y/N: "More looks like a jester or fashion boy to me?"
On the other hand, Tatsuya checked on his Duel Disk to search for Hokuto.
Ayu: Found him! It's Hokuto Shijima from LDS!
Tatsuya: His offical public records are…
Tatsuya started, only for Futoshi yelped in shock.
Futoshi: *Shocked* "He won 53 of 58 matches!?"
Tatsuya: He's got a win ratio over 90%
Tatsuya gulped nervously as Gongenzaka, Yuzu, Ayu, and Futoshi glanced at Yuya with a concern expression on their face.
Y/N: Yuya
I called out, catching the Entertainment Duelist's attention.
Y/N: I'm sure you can do this. You and I, we have a another Duel when the time is come
