Chapter 5: Robbed
Tarun was stunned by the sudden declaration from the king for a moment, then let out a quiet laugh, The King then continued, "I ask you to wait in the Hall till I can discuss your future." He then signaled his valet to lead them there.
Tarun followed the valet absentmindedly. Suddenly, he felt someone tap his shoulder. He turned to see Marcus smiling at him; he smiled back and turned to follow the valet.
At that moment, Marcus approached him and whispered, "You are lucky. At least you will not have to fight that danger. Enjoy your life here. Maybe you'll meet some cute chicks." Marcus had a weird chuckle at the end of the sentence.
It was then that he thought of Lucy, and perhaps life had shown him pity. He shook his head and remained silent. After patting Tarun's shoulder, Marcus went away to speak to others.
Everyone returned to the Hall to wait for the king. They sat in their respective places and started chatting while Tarun closed his eyes to recall what had transpired until now, from the day he heard the news of his parent's death, his life had turned against him. All the hardships he has experienced, all the betrayals he has seen, he lost all hope of living until the day he was summoned to the world.
Even though he came to this world accidentally, it allowed him to start over. Suddenly, the door opened, and he caught sight of the king, the queen, and some soldiers returning.
The King was quite satisfied. Clearing his throat, he spoke in a deep voice. "We appreciate your patience. Now, I'm going to tell you about your classes and your roles."
"Your class makes you who you are. It defines what you are going to become. You get certain skills based on your classes, and speaking of skills, they are abilities you will need for growth. Don't worry, you'll figure it out in time."
Again, he took a moment to pause before continuing, "To determine your power level, we have levels. Each of us starts at a level of zero. To increase your level, you defeat the monsters and beasts who give you some of their energy to enhance your power."
To give them a chance to digest the information, the king looked at Marcus and smiled; "Hero class is one of the rarest classes on our planet, and you are the next pillar for the coming disaster, and we will help you achieve that."
As he turned to the Chinese woman, he continued, "Mages are the cornerstone of any continent, because they are extremely familiar with magical techniques and can become frighteningly powerful in their own right."
"This was an example of a class. Don't worry, I will assign each of you an instructor. They are veterans in those fields." The king finished speaking and turned to Tarun.
"Since we accidentally summoned you to this world, we must bear the responsibility for it. I would like to compensate you with 1000 gold coins, which will be enough for you to live comfortably. Just wait in your Guest room and someone will come to give you your compensation."
Everything surprised Tarun. He was hoping they would strengthen him, but again, who will waste their resources on something useless. He took a deep breath and nodded towards the king before leaving the hall, feeling the fierce stares fixed upon him.
Having once again been betrayed by life, with this in mind, he entered his bedroom and lied on his bed. All the events that took place left him quite depressed.
Although everyone was smiling, there was a feeling of pity in their eyes. That looked disgusted him. An unexpected knock sounded at the door. Upon opening his eyes, he saw Lucy entering the room with a small pouch in hand.
She left the pouch on the table and left the room. Taun was stupefied by her behavior, which had flipped 180 degrees from the morning. With a chuckle, he swallowed the insult. When he opened the pouch, he found some golden-colored coins inside.
Even though he didn't know why, he felt disgusted while holding the money. At least he can survive here. He left the room after tying the pouch to his belt and found some guards standing nearby; He approached one of them and asked for directions to leave the Palace.
He asked the Guard, "Can you tell me where the exit is?" The guard frowned and replied, "His Highness has assigned us to guide you." He turned and left, followed by his fellow guards. Tarun paused for a moment and followed him. After the ceremony, everyone began treating him as a burden.
The guards led him to a huge gate, and he opened the door to see a completely different world, the entrance to this Palace was surrounded by beautiful, lush gardens and statues, there was a walkway leading to the exit, he stepped out and walked towards the gate, surrounded by roughly 10 meters of walls, the guards saw him coming and opened the gate for him.
He was shocked by his first view of the new world. There are buildings along each side of the road, carriages running everywhere, and shops filled with people. It looks like medieval Europe. Taking a deep breath, he began his new journey. First, he must look for a boarding place and get acquainted with this new world. The king had only given him a briefing, and that was it.
At the corner of a street, he saw a large building; at first glance, it looked like a hotel, but he suddenly felt something hit him on the back of the head, enveloping him in darkness.
He awoke to a nauseating smell engulfing him, and opened his eyes groggily, only to find himself lying on the garbage; he puked, and he stood to run, but immediately a severe pain shot into the back of his head and touching it felt like he had some thick liquid on his hand.
It was frightening; he knew what it was, but first, he had to leave that place. Leaving that place, he noticed there was no pouch on his belt, and after recollecting what had happened, he laughed.
"So that's what happened"
