Chapter 3: HE ISN'T THE CULPRIT

Zalina looked at Chief inspector Leo sharply. Those who stare look a little awkward while those who stare look calm and still elegant. Who does not know Zalina Maharani, a young lawyer who is incredibly smart and also honest. In front of Leo, there was a map that was just handed over by Zalina.

"For what reason, you want Revan Aminoto to be investigated. We all know who the young man's parents are."

"The adoptive parents to be exact, Mr. Leo. Please open the document that I brought," answered Zalina firmly.

Leo opened the document that Zalina had brought. There are two child adoption documents. One belongs to Aminoto and the other belongs to Rudi. Also a certificate from the orphanage explaining that the both adopted children are twins.

"So, you mean..."

"Revan Aminoto was present at the birthday party that night. According to Ardy Cresna, victim Tiara Wulandini drank together at the bartender with Ardy. Now, why not do the same DNA test on Revan's and We all know that there is one fingerprint that we don't know is whose fingerprint is at the crime scene, right?"

Leo fell silent. That night, he was the one who immediately rushed to the crime scene after receiving a call that an act of harassment had taken place. And, indeed he found there were other fingerprints besides the fingerprints of the suspect and the victim.

Leo just glared at his colleague and brother-in-law. Zalina only glanced at Rendy and immediately stepped out of the room.

"There's no way my child is the abuser! THIS IS SLIME!" Aminoto shouted sternly at Leo and Zalina. "Ah, if you really believe that Revan is innocent, we will prove it through a DNA test. Why should you be afraid?" said Zalina casually. He turned to Revan and Mrs. Kalina Setiawan, Aminoto's wife "Okay, please just take the DNA test!" Aminoto replied.

"But, I don't want to. Why do I have to do DNA tests? I was indeed at the party but I never touched Tiara. I was also in a drunken position that night," said Revan.

Zalina smirked. "Ah, you seem to know for sure that the victim was drunk. That means you were near the victim when the incident took place, right?"

"Please watch your mouth! This is not a trial where you can accuse my son!" Aminoto exclaimed.

"Owh, I'm just summing up what your son said. Besides, I'm sure you will be very embarrassed if your child is proven to have the same DNA as the suspect Revan. Because they are twins. adopted child. Isn't that right, dear Mr Aminoto?"

Aminoto and Kalina looked pale, as did Revan. "You don't be reckless!" cried Aminoto. Zalina smiled, "Perhaps, this document can refresh your memory a little." Revan, who saw the change in his parents' facial expressions, suddenly felt shocked. "I'm not Papa and Mama's child?" he asked. Zalina smiled triumphantly. "If you are wise, you can choose. You want to make your son confess or when the file goes to court your family's good name is at stake because I will call witnesses who will certainly free Ardy's brother. So, I suggest you immediately consult with the family Tiara so that the charges against my client are withdrawn. Or do you still want a DNA test done to prove that your favorite son wants this to be the perpetrator of the abuse?"

"There's no way Revan could be the culprit!" Aminoto still looked adamant.

"Please come with us then, we'll do a DNA test. How about it?" challenge Zalina.

Leo and assistant inspector Rachel smiled faintly. They were amused to see the attitude of Aminoto and his wife who went awry.

"Am I really not Papa's son?" asked Revan again.

"Papa and Mami never considered you an adopted child. You are our son," replied Kalina. Revan was shocked. Aminoto seemed to approach his son. "Please, you answer honestly, Son. Are you the culprit? If it's true, you better take responsibility. We went to the girl's house. I don't want our family's good name to be tarnished, my son.."

Revan took a deep breath. And, in the end, he nodded.

"There is no need to do a DNA test or anything. I am the culprit," said Revan quietly. Zalina smiled proudly.

"In that case, my job here is finished. Please continue Chief Inspector Leo. And, I will wait for my client to be cleared of all charges. Excuse me, good afternoon."

Zalina reached for the bag and documents she was carrying. Gracefully and confidently she put on her sunglasses and stepped out of the big house. That made inspector Rachel pursed her lips.

"She's so arrogant," she said in a whisper.

Zalina was sitting in her room when her secretary knocked on the door.

"There is Mr. Rudi with his wife and kid, Mam."

"They've already paid for my services. Then, what are they doing here?"

"I don't know, Mam. Can I just ask them to come in?" asked Arimbi, Zalina's secretary. Zalina exhaled slowly. "All right, Let them in."

Arimbi left the room and soon Rudi along with Marisa and Ardy entered the room.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Zalina. Sorry if we disturb you."

"Please, is there anything I can help you with?" asked Zalina. Rudi turned to Ardy. "Ardy wants to thank you directly," said. Rudi.

"That's right, Ms. Zalina. I am very grateful for your help. If you don't help me, I could be threatened with not being able to practice because of a criminal case. And I cannot take my medical oath which is already in sight."

"Hmm...No problem, after all I was paid to defend you. Congratulations on your duty as a doctor then. Hopefully, you can become a good doctor. Is there anything else to talk about? If not, I have to go. I have an appointment." lunch with my mother."
