Chapter 27: 27. Shopping.
We picked up some meat kabobs from a vendor and then made our way to the ninja shop.
Surprisingly it looked more like a shopping mall from the real world. There were aisles of shelves, racks of clothes, glass vases with weapons and tags, food pill packages, all sorts of equipment.
They even had shopping carts.
Valerie grabs a cart as I'm too short to effectively reach the handles.
I start browsing the clothes and pick out numerous sizes of anbu style clothes and pants along with various ninja sandals and boots befor throwing them in the cart.
I also grab hand wraps, chakra ink, scrolls, various pouches, some blank ninja masks, ninja vests, boxes of food pills and rations, ninja wire, fuma shuriken, blacked out goggles and glasses, headsets for talking.
The shopkeeper was just gawking as I practically bought out his store. All the money I spent would be deducted from the funds in Orario I own. So I was going to make it count.
"Do you sell plants here?" I ask as he rings up all the purchases and stores them in scroll.
"No, most plants and poisons are handled by the Yamanaka clan." He shakes his head.
I just nod before looking over his stock of ninjato and other weapons.
Valerie is looking at some fashion magazines and make up in the corner. Even ninja want to look good.
I lean in closer to the shopkeeper who does the same.
"Do you have a collection of the make out series by Lord Jiraiya?" I ask quietly.
He gives Valerie a quick look before nodding at me in understanding and grabbing a scroll from under the counter. He adds up the cost and slips it to me discretely which I pocket.
"Good man." I slip him a large note.
A couple minutes later Valerie walls over and places a bunch of make up, bras, and panties on the counter, the sexy kind.
I just give her a thumbs up.
All the scrolls are stored in a large backpack I had purchased before we leave the shop.
Orario is lacking in quite a few places when it comes to quality clothing, the stuff here is much sturdier and better looking.
We slip down an alley where I dump everything into the gate before heading off to the Yamanaka flower shop.
I had already prepared a list of what I needed.
Walking inside, there was a middle aged platinum haired blonde who greeted us.
"Welcome to the Yamanaka Flower shop, how may I help you?" She asks with a polite smile nor missing our headbands or showing shock at my age.
I pull out a scroll from my pouch and pass it over. "Do you have seeds for these plants?" I ask.
She gives it a once over and nods. "Yes although they will be very expensive. I also need to see your ninja ID to purchase them." She explains.
I pull out my ID and so does Valerie and pass them over. She inspects them for a second before passing them back.
"One moment." She says heading to the back.
5 minutes later she comes out carrying a paper bag filled with plastic baggies with seeds inside.
She also has a ledger which she quickly consults before adding up the prices on the til.
"Your total comes to 33,750 Ryo." She says with a smile.
Ooof 34k on seeds.
I count out 34, 1000 Ryo bills and pass them over. "Keep the change." I tell her and grab the bag.
With this I'll be able to start my garden and get my cloning and medical lab up and going. With wood style I can easily increase the growth rate for all the seeds.
However that will have to wait until after the mission.
'So you know this world?' Valerie asks mentally as we walk down the street.
'Yes, this is where I got all my scroll from. I even know what's going to happen in the future provided I dont change it, In the next month this village will be attacked by Sand and Sound ninja and the leader will be killed off. This is a good opportunity to get bodies for me.' I tell her. 'If anyone tries to attack you, your strong enough to subdue them. There are scrolls for body transport that allows them to be kept alive so just knock them out and store them. I'll kill them personally.' I request and pass her some of the scrolls.
I flash her a mental image of some key players and headbands to memorize so she won't get confused.
The rest of the day was spent looking around the town. It was kind of like a small vacation and I still needed to plan out what to do. Do I want to help or not? Who should I kill if i could? What should i have for dinner? These are the questions that should be answered.
The next morning I woke up early and Valerie wished me good luck before myself and the paths headed off towards the exam area.
I skipped right past the Genjutsu door and found a place to sit. I got many curious looks as I was by far the youngest person in the room.
About 20 minutes later the famous rookie 9 entered the room and I got a first look at all of them.
Children, it had slipped my mind that they were only 12 years old. That made me question the optional quests even more. The most I had killed ever were goblins.
I tapped on the desk and watched the show between Kabuto and the rookie 9. I could certainly kill him. I always found him to be a douche.
Then the Proctor's entered and started putting us all in separate seats away from our teams then passed around tests.
"The first part of the exam, you start with 10 points, for every wrong question you answer you lose a point, every time you are caught cheating you lose 2 points. If you are caught 3 times or answer 6 questions wrong you fail and you and your team are gone." Ibiki says. "Begin!"
