Chapter 1: The murder
"Tony! " " Tony!" You've got to get out of bed now or you will be late for your first day in high school. "Am awake" Tony said sleepily and went back to sleep. His dad came to his room and yanked his blanket off. "I said you would be late.now get up and get ready.meet me downstairs". Tony was the kind of guy that wasn't into the idea of being the "perfect" student but he didn't want to be a lousy one either. He quickly took a shower and got ready and went downstairs where he joined his father for breakfast. His father was a detective and a very good one at that. He handled the toughest cases and was very respected by his colleagues. Tony's mum, Mrs Smith was a pilot. She wasn't at home that day. On the headlines there was a picture of a lady. She was murdered at a party she had organized during the weekend. The police had come to her house after some neighbors had not seen her since her party. They said they heard some noices like gunshots but they weren't so sure when they didn't see her the next day they called the police. "Are u going to investigate this case?" Tony asked curiously. "I don't know if I am asked then yes I will do so".
Ricardo Williams and Erick brown were waiting for Tony at the school garden. They had all agreed to meet there. They had been best of friends since Ricardo and his family moved from Mexico to thier city. "Hey Rick" Tony called out when he saw them. Tony preferred to call ricardo, rick. "Hey Tony you came later than I expected" Erick said...
Later the three friend found themselves a good spot in the school to discuss. Erick spoke first " my dad was at a crime scene today" his dad was the head of police in the city. "A wealthy lady was murdered it is in the papers her name was Elizabeth Aurora Wilson" that's a I know he concluded. "So there's a murderer in this town because the murder happened here in this town" Rick said with panic. "cool down bro. I am sure whoever this person was he or she must have left town at least for the time being". Tony assured him."Is your dad investigating this case?" Rick asked "well I don't know yet but I think so." Tony replied.
The next day, After school Tony went home.His dad wasn't at home but Tony was used to it.
His father worked late but he was used to it. He was bored so he called Rick and Erick and told them to come to his house. While he waited for them he decided to snoop around his father's old documents. He saw a file with the name "Elizabeth Aurora Wilson". So his dad was handling it after all. He read what was written inside the file. According to the forensics the lady had been strangled. But if she was strangled, why the gunshots the neighbors said they heard. He read on. According to police report there were two bullets is the ceiling and no fingerprint were found apparently the criminal must have used gloves. The police had questioned some neighbors and guest at the party. It was a small party she held that evening. She had invited many friends. They all denied knowing anything about the matter and claimed that the party ended before 10pm. Her time of death was put at around 12:30am. They also claimed not to have heard and sound resembling that of a gun shot. The police had no leads but had started a full scale investigation into the case. That was all that the file contained.
"Wow!" Tony exclaimed. He was trying to make up theories about the murder when he heard a knock on the door.
