Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Baby Blue

Waking up, I found myself laying face-first on the desk. Damn, I passed out immediately after I took the potion...how weak is my body?

[User passed out due to immediate exposure of 10 years of life and death training. If you stayed awake, you would have died from shock. However, the human body is still quite weak relative to others]

"So it was my body shutting down to protect itself? I guess in that respect, I adapted to the situation" I groaned out loud,

'but I should still think about what other bloodlines I could incorporate or a racial change. Obviously, I wouldn't change into anything non-humanoid, but there are Kryptonians...Asgardians...etc.'

Before I could continue my pondering, I felt a large surge of information in my mind... It felt like I had been practising and undergoing torturous training for a straight 10 years. I picked up a wooden kunai and looked at a particular corner of my room. Without thinking, my arm whipped out like a snake and released the kunai. Woah. It whizzed through the air before it hit the wall, leaving a dent mark in the wall.

"That was... Killua's Snake Awakening right?" I whispered in wonder. I could also feel that my body was more robust and slender. I felt like my body was also lighter and as I got up and walked... I couldn't hear my footsteps. I don't even have to consciously think about the activation of these skills, they're embedded into my subconscious reactions. It's as simple for me to use them as it is to tense a muscle. That was 240 Chakra well spent. In this regard, Killua had to actively use skills where I can focus on something else like...jutsu casting while my nervous system takes care of the rest.

...

A day before our Genin exams,

I stood in front of the large forest where I had been training for the last couple of months. In my arms, I held two large baskets one containing the multitude of fish I had caught and the other containing game meat.

I liked the taste of deer most, however, Bear is also quite enjoyable BBQ'd.

I had finally stopped being surprised at how amazing my body is after today and have become fully accustomed to my abilities. Training in this environment was becoming more and more like a home and a playground for me instead of a 'forest of death'.

Whistling a tune, I went to go deliver my goods and collect my payment. Damn, I now felt like some sort of mafia boss?

...

I was sitting in class, anticipating the assessment that was about to begin as I glanced at the rest of my classmates' sweat-covered faces. I shook my head, this class was just the best prospects from the normal citizens of the leaf, not the clan kids or anyone special. After all, it was normal for them to be stressed. Plus I wasn't in any of the special classes, even though Asuma and Kurenai were also in my year but I had only seen them around the school. Even Guy is in a higher class than me which truly goes to speak about the pitiful situation of civilians.

I glanced one last time at my stats,

Name: Raiden Ambrose

Race: Human

Age: 10

Bloodlines: None

Rank: Low-Grade Genin Student

Strength: 59

Agility: 65

Fortitude: 56

...

Total Current Energy: 100 Chakra

Other Energies N/A

...

Mastery:

Beast Breathing 88%

Conclusion: Still a Weakling

Yesterday, however, I found out what 1 chakra equalled in jutsu terms. Fire Release: Great Fire Ball used up exactly 1 CP (Chakra Points). I managed to acquire this from being the strongest in the class, hence I acquired a C-Rank Ninjutsu. This helped me understand more about how chakra worked as a currency. I sighed internally thinking that I'd spent 250 Fire Balls to get Killua's experience. Another 100 Fire Balls for the beast breathing manual.

'System, Why do I feel like I'm being ripped off?' I yelled.

[...]

'...'

"Raiden Ambrose, please come forward..." shouted the instructor which jolted me out of my pitying thoughts. I walked to the front and the instructor sweatdropped as he noticed my lack of footsteps before continuing,

"Raiden, please show us your transformation jutsu"

*Poof*

without missing a beat, I sensed the time had come for a prank.

I suddenly increased my size to 5'7 and gained the body of a strongman...My eyes were blue and I looked like a 40-year-old man. I was riding on top of a majestic brown bear holding a glass of a clear liquid in my hand. Without missing a beat I toasted,

"Na Zdarovie Komrades"

before poofing back into my 10-year-old self. Having a little fun, I had finally passed my goddamn exam. Before long, the teacher had a final list of who had passed and who had not...

Unfortunately, only one other person had passed in our class.

"Raiden Ambrose, you've been assigned to Team Choza, please meet him tomorrow at the training ground assigned to the team," finished the teacher.

...

The next morning, I was waiting in the trees at the training ground waiting for my teammates to appear...Might Guy and Genma Shiranui...

'sorry about taking your place Ebisu' I thought.

Before long, Guy walked in wearing his signature green suit with the red scarf along with another Boy who I assumed to be Genma. He wore a dark, baggy outfit with a hooded red and black jacket. He also wore a black choker, a strap around his leg, and was chewing on a senbon in his mouth.

Chōza emerged from the shrubbery opposite my tree after a few minutes. He is a tall, plump man with naturally brown hair, but seems to wear a long, spiky red hairpiece. He has purple markings on his cheeks — a common trait that I saw in the Akimichi clan. He wears a samurai-like outfit which entails a black suit complete with armour that has the kanji for "food" on it. He also wears a rope belt, handguards, and does not wear a typical forehead protector.

'An interesting character'

Thinking that it was time to reveal myself, I swiftly surged out of the trees and stood next to the two boys.

They all seemed shocked as they didn't notice any sound of me approaching. Choza shook himself out of his stupor after staring at my feet for a couple of seconds before introducing himself,

"Hello all, My name is Choza Akimichi, I particularly like BBQ'd food as well as crisps. I dislike wimps and I've already achieved my goal. Before we get into any training, I will let you each introduce yourself." He says before pointing to Guy, "You go first."

Guy nods thoughtfully before breaking out and posing, "My name is Might Guy, I particularly like training as well as talking about our YOUTH! I don't dislike anything in particular and my future goal is to get everyone to believe in their own YOUTH!"

Choza nods his head content with the guy's answer before pointing at Genma who looked bored with this whole interaction,

"Genma Shiranui, I like learning new jutsu and eating, I particularly dislike vermin such as rats. My goal is to be an Elite of Konoha."

Interesting. I always thought Genma and the other two who were part of their Duo were really interesting characters when I used to watch the anime. Especially when they used the trio version of the flying thunder god technique.

Shaking my head, I finally introduce myself. Of course, I keep it rather obscure as I can't risk giving away too much info in this world of backstabbers,

"My name Is Raiden Ambrose, I particularly like training," I said smirking at Guy, "especially when I outpace Guy, I don't particularly dislike anything and my goal is to become the best I can be."

Some may call me a psychopath but I would disagree, I'm simply a high-functioning sociopath. I can care for someone yet it seems to anyone outside of that circle, I could torture, maim and even do worse than that to them if it benefits me. Hence, I try to reduce the number of attachments I have in this world. After all, the last time I trusted someone I got stabbed in the back by my potential wife. If anything, someone out there must be laughing at my predicament, he must've thought 'let's place the backstabbed in a world of backstabbers and watch him burn the world down'.

"Since we aren't currently in a war, we are going to carry out your REAL Genin exams," Choza says with a small grin forming on his face before pulling out a large footlong sandwich, "if you guys can take even take a small part of this sandwich away from me whether that be through biting or tearing...Then all three of you win. You have ten minutes before I start eating the sandwich."

Glancing at the three of them we all rush to a further spot to stop him from hearing us. Before thinking about anything, I tell them how we should move forward with this.

"Genma what jutsu are you most proficient at?" I ask, he explains that he is best at using water and wind jutsu. My brain starts whirring as I think he would make a great Trapper and puller. I knew Might Guy's Strengths and weaknesses hence there was no need to ask. Feeling a plan being put together in my mind I explain this plan,

"Guy you're going to get into close combat with Choza, be careful of the akimichi clan's partial expansion jutsu. If you can strike him from below as the sandwich might obscure his vision when it's actually in his mouth. Genma, eventually Choza will use his partial expansion jutsu, when he does, I want you to trap him with your water jutsu and focus wind jutsu on his legs. Once you've done that I will finally swoop in. Are we understood?"

They both nod their heads. It seemed like a pretty good plan to them anyway. Me? I was itching to use my new jutsu type. Although it's in its development stage, it was still more advanced than many normal jutsu.

Might Guy walked out as I and Genma started approaching silently from the surrounding forest. I kept checking back to make sure that Genma wasn't causing any noise to give away our position, after all, I wasn't acquainted with him. Thankfully, his potential to be an elite jonin wasn't for nothing, his steps were almost traceless. Looking back towards the clearing, we noticed a large slamming sound...

Guy had started his frontal assault as Choza kept smiling and eating his sandwich. He calmly parried every punch that Guy was executing. At the end of Guy's combo, however, he ducked slightly to the right causing him to be only able to see him clearly with one eye as the sandwich blocked the other. Guy rashly focused his punches on his torso and neck area.

"10,11,12,13,14,15" He whispers gently before twisting his body downwards and stretching his leg upwards to kick Choza's chin, "16 Hit Combo!"

Choza stumbles back a bit before gathering himself, He smirks before muttering some inaudible words... Guy rushes at him but before he can do anything Choza's foot enlarged suddenly and whipped out to kick Guy.

'That was a smart move, if he used the expansion on his fists, Guy could still duck or dodge and get into his blind spot whereas if he uses his legs, he's going to have to jump and be exposed directly to Choza's line of sight. Meaning there is no blindness advantage' I thought.

Choza booted Guy a couple of meters away but before he could return his legs...He noticed his other foot had been completely ensnared by a large body of water that stretched up to his knee, I looked at it surprised, this was similar to the Nara's Shadow binding technique yet...liquid. In the next moment, small, sharp wind blades started assaulting Choza's enlarged foot as it was an easy target now that he is immobile.

Choza nearly stumbles over, surprised at our fluid teamwork but now he has a cautious smile on his face as he tries to anticipate where I am.

Even if Choza returned his other foot now, It would simply get trapped by the water below him, I guess he thought that if he kept his foot out, he would be able to defend better. Tut tut tut.

"Combustion Style: Baby Blue Blitz" I whisper as several light blue fireballs surge towards him. Choza manages to notice them in time and positions his foot to kick them.

'Everything is going exactly...according to plan.' I thought before activating my true skill in this fight.

'Silent Gaits: Rhythm Echoes' I think as multiple footsteps could be heard over the sound of the rushing, burning flames. Choza's face becomes increasingly tense as he tries to bite into his sandwich quicker.

Suddenly, however, I approached in front of him and took a bite out of the sandwich with a smirk on my face as I dispel the hotter version of multiple fireball jutsu. He just looks at the three of us gobsmacked. I was feeling proud of myself for a second before suppressing that feeling, after all, what do I have to be proud of about beating a Luffy rip-off?

Another thing I was annoyed at was that it was still a white-blue colour so not even a blue or deep blue flame. I need to get stronger quicker but I'm glad my secondary school chemistry knowledge was useful. I managed to derive this technique from the great fireball jutsu. Combustion huh...

I shouldn't be satisfied with this rate of progression. My abilities still need work.
