Chapter 21: Brilliant Idea
Three months had passed, Alex was completely immersed in his job and proving himself day by day.
Alex and Kate both became good friends, he used to feel free to talk to her if he had any doubts.
He is a quick learner and used to solve problems quickly with efficiency and used to help his colleagues irrespective of his work.
Kate was running towards the conference room, some papers in her hand fell down, she bent to take it then Alex saw her and went to help her so he too bent collected papers and handed over her.
She said "thanks Alex"
"Why are you so tense and worried?" he asked her.
"Just now Ma'am had announced to come to a conference room, we are having a meeting which was unplanned" she mentioned.
"See me, how am I walking to the conference room? You should learn from me. Be cool why do you feel restless every time" Alex tried to pacify her.
"Good morning to all, our investors want to know the complete structure of our product with every minute details for next three years of profits, so I wanted a presentation within an hour" Ashley announced.
"Ma'am but we are supposed to present tomorrow, all of sudden how can we present now?" one of the employees said who was new to the company and didn't have any idea about Ashley as he was attending for the first time.
Everyone looked towards him in a stun for questioning Ashley. She angrily stared towards him.
Then Kate stood and said "he is new employee ma'am, I will talk to him"
"Ok, then we will meet in an hour," Ashley said.
After an hour everyone again gathered in the conference room.
Everyone presented their ppts and one of the employees could not present properly and made a lot of mistakes" she scolded him "how you can make such silly mistakes, why do you people even work here if you make so many mistakes" Ashley was shouting at him.
He was the same employee who joined recently and questioned Ashley in the meeting room, he was terrified hearing her voice.
"Excuse me ma'am, please be calm. We can fix it so don't worry" Alex then stood and interrupted her.
She was seeing him first time so close "whatever, fix it as soon as possible"
"I will fix it before you finish your coffee" Kate can you please get a coffee for Ma'am.
She was seeing Alex for the first time "she wondered, seeing his confidence, are you a new employee?" she asked
"No ma'am since three months I have been working here, I am Alex Lee" he introduced himself.
She glanced towards him, "Kate I would like to drink a coffee, right now I want to see how capable he is correcting the ppt"
Everyone in the room was looking towards him with sympathy. The new employee Choi Leo thanked Alex.
Alex was so confident that he had started to work and before Ashley finished the coffee he corrected and presented ppt, everyone in the room clapped for him but Ashely had not uttered a word.
As soon as the presentation was completed everyone dispersed to their respective places.
Kate and Alex were in the cafeteria drinking Coffee then Choi Leo came and approached them.
"Choi Leo, by now you understand I am the new employee who joined recently" he introduced himself to Alex.
"Yaa, I know. Good question raised by you in the meeting room" he appreciated him.
"I think I shouldn't raise it because when ma'am angrily stared towards me I was terrified. Kate ma'am intervened and you really helped me in presenting ppt. Thanks to both of you, without you two how could I manage" Leo thanked them.
Both Alex and Kate had assured him that they will help him whenever he needs their help.
Leo thanked them and left.
Grandpa who was observing everything was impressed by the way Alex handled the situation.
He visits the office once in a while to spend some time in his office and have lunch with Ashley.
In his visits he observes Alex's skills, asks about his nature and attitude at the workplace. Everyone at work had talked good about him and his nature, especially that he had patience to deal with anything.
Within a short span of time Alex had gained a good will at the workplace. After seeing today's incident, how he handled Ashley and managed the situation, Paul was really impressed by Alex and got an Idea. He smiled at himself for his brilliant idea.
