Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Crisis!! and Plans

With the tribe handling itself and finding few ways to improve it Jack left the tribe alone and exited the cabin.

Jack getting out of the cabin went towards his phone to call his friends who hopefully were not in their realms though it was unlikely.

Noticing that they didn't get back to him Jack left a message to call him when available. Checking in on his realm quickly every now and then while only buffing the kobolds periodically and extremely rarely upgrading the level of the kobolds as hours passed in the main world.

Finally Lin Xiao called him.

Clicking to accept the call a hologram appeared with Lin Xiao standing as a miniature.

"Hi Xiao " Jack greeted with a somber tone to Xiao's immediate return greeting. "Hi Jack what has got you down?"

"Well I am facing a major crisis and want to ask if you and Ryan had any ideas to help me." Jack replied thinking back to his divine realm and how his tribe has unsustainable growth.

"What is the problem if its something I can help with I will help?" Xiao replied with a smile though he had a look of helplessness due to not knowing the problem.

"My problem is reproducing too quickly and I don't know how to control it." Jack with a smile that said sorry explained realizing his mistake of being super vague.

"Oh well isn't that unfortunate." Xiao replied with sarcasm and envy as a smile hung on his face laughing inside at the problem Jack is facing.

"Come on man its serious." Jack looked at Xiao with dead serious and annoyance.

"Sorry man its just I'm envious of your situation since its the exact opposite of mine." Xiao apologized realizing his mistake.

"Well start explaining what happened in your realm so I can understand your situation." Xiao asked.

Jack started explaining from the beginning how he started with no major predators for the kobolds and hunted for food while organizing his tribe.

The kobolds kept reproducing overtime and with no real threat to the kobolds they kept reproducing and soon they would grow out of range of the carrying capacity the ecosystem could support.

Jack took the step of domesticating the boars but this only delayed the problem. Without any major way for the kobolds to die or a way to increase the food available the kobolds would starve to death possibly even destroying the entire ecosystem when they run out of food.

"So did you use your only card slot yet" Xiao asked the most important question he had hoping that what he is thinking of didn't happen.

"Yes I did on an iron deposit so my kobolds have tools and weapons." Jack replied thinking back to his mistake. The iron deposit was totally unnecessary as the kobolds could hunt completely fine without tools and no tools were needed else where.

What Xiao didn't wish for came true. Thinking over the options he couldn't think of anything.

"I'll try to think of something so ask Ryan if he has any ideas and what is the time limit until you reach maximum kobold capacity." Xiao with a frown asked hoping that he wasn't already at maximum capacity.

"I have over 5 years until then in which to support the population the kobolds will need to hunt rabbits in mass everyday alongside raising boars." Jack explained the time limit easing the worries of Xiao as once the population was over 500 the population would be impossible to handle on a regular basis.

"With the timing we can come up with ideas in the next few days and unfortunately we don't have class so you can't ask the teachers." Xiao said trying to give confidence to his stressed friend.

"Once Ryan calls you text me you guys talked and if he solved the problem but if Ryan doesn't have any ideas lets meet up tomorrow at around this time. Goodbye and good luck." Xiao told Jack while trying to reassure his friend.

"Bye Xiao thanks for the help and will do." Jack said goodbye while accepting Xiao's plan.

30 minutes later Ryan called to Jack's amusement that this was a good time to gather.

"Whats up Jack!" once Jack accepted the call Ryan burst forth with questions and you could hear the worry in his tone.

"Hi Ryan nice to hear from you too." Jack with a sly smile replied to the outburst.

"Hey I'm only caring for my friends" Ryan rolling his eyes explained himself.

"So what is the problem?" Ryan again asked the important question.

Jack started to explain to Ryan like he did with Xiao how his kobolds are reproducing too quickly and that they will start to starve in the coming days if no action is taken. Also remembering to mention how he already used his card slot.

"Well that is a problem." Ryan slowly said thinking over all the information.

"If you have any ideas please tell me otherwise Xiao wanted to meet up tomorrow 30 minutes before the current time." Jack explained the plan he and Xiao agreed on.

"Well on the spot I can't really think of anything to ground breaking besides trying to forcefully stop the breeding or start killing off the females to lower the population." Ryan replied with a more darker path that Jack didn't want to do since it would seriously hurt his faith to have him just murder his believers. This would also give the kobolds ideas to commit crimes.

"I don't just want to mercilessly kill my followers and I could separate the females and males during periods of time to slow down their breeding and control it but still lets meet up tomorrow to discuss further Ideas and update me on your and Xiao's realms." Jack replied with a smile having a simple idea that would work in theory.

"Sorry I can't think of anything else so see you tomorrow at Xiao's room." Ryan agreed to meetup before saying goodbye.

"Bye Ryan see you tomorrow.' Jack said goodbye before remembering to text Xiao that Ryan and him will be coming over tomorrow. Xiao quickly got back with a message saying see you tomorrow and that everything will work out.
