Chapter 29: Aki What?

*Kash View*

The training facility was so much cooler than my old packs. Yeah, I have come to terms that this will be my new pack and that Atlas can be my mate. Who would not be happy with the man beside me?

My pack just used a large football field first off. Here it is was a full-on building! The building was newer than the manor we lived in. Not by that much, but the moss had yet to colour the stones. Though the stones still were faded of their once brilliant shades where the sun could reach. The place was built in an older style horseshoe shape with the inside an open area not protected from the elements for training in all weather. The entrance was wide enough for many people to enter with room. To the left and right were entrances to the inside of the actual building.

Atlas was leading me towards the middle when I noticed the wolves we passed, stared and whispered, which kind of had me worried. "Are you sure this is a good idea Atlas?"

He chuckled. "Of course, Kash. You still want this yes?" He grabbed my waist and pulled me into him. "Besides, the wolves here are excited to see their Luna."

When I looked back towards the people who were whispering, I noticed they were smiling. "Are they really that excited? I have nothing to offer right now." Turning back towards Atlas I tried to ignore the stares.

"You have lots to offer. What some see as strength being only physical, they loose the real power. You have inner strength many would die to have. The way you have done your best to still prove yourself to not only others but yourself, without hiding who you are. You will be an amazing Luna. The kindness you show, the empathy, even your temper are all good qualities." Atlas chuckled at my expression when he stated temper. "Don't look at me like that. Temper when used correctly is a must. You do not want to be a softy. You need to have the power to step up when others want to pull you down. You have that."

His words made me happy. I liked that he saw my strengths. "Then what weaknesses do I have that I should work on?"

"That is what we are here for. You would like the ability to fight back, so you can learn. I won't stop having guards for you, but knowing you have that extra kick, will make me feel safer when I am not around." I grumbled at how sweet he tried to sound. "Hey now. It is the truth."

"That is not what I meant. You are not listening." I slapped his arm.

"Kash. You are perfect just the way you are. If you feel like you want to work on self improvement, go for it. I will support you any way I can." He turned away as we walked into the main training area.

I was in awe. There had to be over one hundred wolves around. When I looked behind me the ones we passed in the hall were following behind us. "Are there always so many here?"

"No. They came to see you." Atlas was looking around for someone.

Finally I shuffled closer to Atlas not used to the attention. The wolves had all stopped what they were doing and started to walk over. A little squeak came out. "They are coming this way. What do we do?"

"Ah!" Atlas pulled me towards a small group near the north wall. "Raven. Briar."

Looking where Atlas called I recognized the pair from the dinner. Shyly I smiled at Briar when she waved.

"We were wondering if he would actually come today. Actually more if you would bring him. Keeping him a secret from the pack will be the cause of this crowd." Her voice caught me of guard like she was chiding Atlas. I watched for his reaction.

"Yeah well. Kash is still a little shy." Atlas scratched the back of his head. "I might have also been trying to keep him to myself a little as well."

Raven laughed. He long black hair was done up showing shaved sides I never saw during dinner. The violet in her eyes glowed when she laughed, giving her a softer look. Beside her Briar was chuckling. "Hey Kash. Feeling better?"

Looking down at my feet, I moved a little behind Atlas to get out of the spot light. "Yeah. I did hurt my wrist a little but it is healing." Even though it was not much louder than a whisper I knew she heard me.

"Atlas. He is absolutely adorable! Even at the dinner he was so quiet. Are you sure he should be around the warriors?" Raven looked at Briar as she spoke. "Omegas can do well here, but being unmated can cause difficulties. Before you growl, please know I won't let anything happen to our Luna. I also know that you have enough guards around him as well. Just know that close contact before then is not suggested."

Atlas growled still as he spoke. "Since he is not doing close contact until we get back there will be no issues. He is under orders by the Doc to keep off his wrist. So basics only." Atlas seemed unhappy. "Besides, when he is done he will do as well as our warriors won't he?"

Raven laughed. "Yes Alpha! If he puts the effort into it he can do anything."

Briar looked at me. "You can use your size as an advantage you know."

"Hey! What is wrong with my size?" I barked at her. This time all three laughed at me.

"Kash. You can do three laps around this place. No shortcuts. Wall to wall." Raven looked at me now smiling. "Then maybe we can see about your balance."

Atlas turned to me. "Go on. I will stay for a little and watch."

My eyes looked deep into his and before I smirked. "Hmm. Okay." I gave a quick kiss on his cheek and ran off before he could react. I knew my own face would be red.

The problem with running was that I was in human form. This form had no real exercise. Near the end of the third lap, I was exhausted, and Raven knew it. "Keep it up Kash. You're almost done."

When I looked at the area Raven and Briar waited, I realized that sometime after I started the third lap, Atlas had left. I knew he had to visit his uncle, but I still missed him already. "Stupid duties." Huffing I made it back to the pair waiting.

Briar had pulled her blond hair back into a small pony that showed her blue eyes a little more. "Kash. You should rest from cardio but not stop completely. Since you are restricted, I will show you some stretches to do. These will help you from cramping."

The rest of the afternoon was Raven bringing me around to other pack members who were training. They had many styles that they could focus on. I learned that as a group they mixed the fighting styles so as to be more efficient and harder to strategize against.

One group was focused on one style called Judo. They all looked like some of the bigger wolves. Though Raven explained that any pack member could focus on it, the bigger wolves that specialized in the policing of the pack members tended to used this style. It allowed the members to throw opponents down and be able to subdue without much harm to the other. She told me that it did not mean it was for the soft hearted either. These top wolves could easily hurt the other if they chose.

The next group we moved to were practicing Krav Maga. This one had some wolves were covered in open wounds. To be honest, they scared me. Raven told me that only the top warriors of this style were generally chosen to protect the royal families. This style was brutal and honestly had no rules when it came to combat. I shuddered looking at the fighters.

Briar spoke up as we came to another group. "This is what I think you should look into. It is called Aikido. It focuses on using the energy from the attacker for your defence. You never have to worry about hurting them as long as you follow the practice. So then you will be safe, with no harm to others as well."

"I like how there is no blood." Grinning I looked at Briar. "Did you study this one?"

She chuckled. "Nope! I practiced Taekwondo! Raven has been studying Karate since she was but a pup who could barely walk!"

"There really are many different styles! How do you guys do it? My fath..um Alpha Dax had our warriors train for basic combat. Nothing to this extent." I did not miss how they looked at each other with my stumble between father and Alpha, but chose to ignore it. "This is actually amazing!"

"There are many members and packs involved. Atlas worked hard to keep bringing in trainers for each style, including a few new ones like the Aikido. He understands that their are people with different strengths and weaknesses. He also believes that using both sides of our beings will help us becomes stronger. To know where your weakness is and use it as part of your strength." Raven patted my shoulder. "Your mate waits for us now. You can research the styles and let us know what you feel is best. Talk it over with Alpha Atlas as well. He will have more insight."

I ran over to Atlas. "You have so much going on here! The fighters are amazing! They think I should do Aikido, cause I won't hurt people. The Krav Maga guys scare the crap out of me. I could not handle all that blood." I shuddered as I looked up at him. "Is that what Karr and Colton do? They seem so nice!"

Atlas grabbed me into a big hug. "I am gone for a few hours and you can't even say hello?"

Now red from top to bottom I whisper to him. "Hi."

He chuckled. "We can look at the different styles and see what you like more. Watching the people training and some videos will give you ideas. However, Raven told me it will be a little while yet. You do not have the core strength or cardio to do much just yet."

Even though I expected it, I could still feel the disappointment. "I will soon."

"Let's go eat. We will be saying goodbye to my uncle tonight and getting packed up to head back to your pack." Atlas seemed to be looking at Raven as he spoke.

"Old Pack! And it is no fair you mind link to see how bad I did. In fact, it is rude!" A little upset I started to storm off, ignoring Raven and Briar laughing. "Royal ass." They laughed louder as Atlas could be heard running up to me.

"You are too damn cute." Atlas then grabbed me, picking me up fully. "We are also a little late."

"Hey! I can run too!" I ended up grabbing my hands behind his neck to keep my balance. To be honest it was fun. Leaning in I could hear his even breaths and heart beat as he ran back to the manor.

When we got to the door, he put me down and I could see the excitement in his eyes. He enjoyed it as much as me. Guiding me by the waist he directed me inside and all the way to the dinning room. What caught me off guard were the amount of people inside. My smile dropped right away.

Unlike the first dinner, there had to be over a hundred wolves around. It did not take much for me to feel like curling up around all the eyes directed at me. It was not the curious eyes like at the training grounds. Some were, but many held malice. Many of them were alpha females and they let off their pheromones to let me know I was not welcome. I could not help let a whimper escape as Atlas pulled me further inside.

"Zion." Atlas called to him with a serious tone. He was making it obvious that he wanted to talk, without the rudeness of the mind link. This caused many near by to quiet down and listen in. "Please escort my mate to his spot. I need to have a private talk with my uncle." Many eyes turned to Alpha Trent who was smiling.

"Come on Kash. This way." I knew that every wolf in the room could smell my discomfort. Zion leaned in. "I already informed Atlas on this having been done without his approval. He wanted to ease you into meals like this and apologizes."

I turned towards him. "Then why force me into this one?"

Zion just shook his head and brought me to a seat beside the head of the table. Pulling it out he allowed me to sit before helping me bring the seat back in. My face was redder than a tomato now. I did not want to even look at the people around me.

An angry female voice had me look up when they finally spoke up. "This is atrocious. How can we expect a Luna out of this shy weak omega? Can he even help the sire produce an heir?"

Another one beside her spoke up. "The sire can always have concubines. They do not have to be the mate to produce an heir."

They both chuckled as a third spoke up. "The sire has not even marked him yet. There is a chance he will refuse him. Royals do have a standard after all."

This time I growled. "Atlas has respected me. I have been attacked and injured since our first meeting. He has been patient with my unease of finding a mate and learning how to socialize. He has placed his wants aside for my comfort. I would expect she wolves like you to understand. You are the type to flaunt yourselves and do what you want to move up, yes? You feel you are better than others because you are what? Royal? That makes you less in my eyes. You have no interest in the pack as a whole, you only care about your own. People like you three disgust me and I refuse to eat around filth like you." I stood up and walked out. It was not until the door closed; I took off at a run to my room. Those people were horrible and said many nasty things. What makes it worse was that I knew it would get worse before it even got better.
