Chapter 2: Mysterious letter
"Hey Stella stop daydreaming, the teacher is calling you". Rika said in a hushed tone gaining Stella's attention by poking her from below the deck.
'Getting late to the lecture and now daydreaming I am definitely inviting for trouble now'. Stella thought before getting up.
"Stella explain pg no. 45 on the textbook". The teacher harsh voice was heard with a bonus of glare that come to her way for being distracted. Glancing at the pg no. 45 Stella started explaining it briefly.
"Okay you may sit down now. So, that's all for today's lecture let's continue our lecture for tomorrow. You all may leave now". The teacher said to everyone before leaving the class.
Jenny the girl sitting in front of Rika turned behind in her chair facing them. "Did you heard about the famous mysterious 'Darren Milton'?" she asked.
"The overnight turned handsome bachelor?". Rika click in the conversation instantly and more girls joint in. But Stella was oblivious to this.
"Yea, before no one knew much about him and everyone thought he would be an old man, but his photos were secretly spread thought they were soon to take it down". One of the girl said a bit disappointed but changed the next second when the other girl showed some photos from her phone.
"However, someone still manage to have this two photo. He is freckingly inhuman handsome and rich with intelligent brain". She said showing the photo.
Rika took it eager to see the handsome face but it was blurry and the other was taken from behind only back was visible. He was wearing a white shirt that hug his body perfectly making one imagin the perfect physics of the body.
"There're also some rumours that he is a 'Gay". Other girl claim. Inbetween the talk Stella's half mind drifted remembering the a handsome face she saw in her dream.
"Hey what happen you called me last night?, sorry I was sleeping like a pig, so I didn't know until this morning. I rang you in the morning, but you didn't pick up, everything okay?. You also seem a bit off today too?". Rika asked Stella worriedly.
"What I called you in the night?".
"Yes you did". Rika got her mobile phone call history and Stella had really called her last night.
'So it was not a dream'.
"Oh that umm.... I thought someone broke into my house ...." Stella said.
"What ??? How??". Rika shoot her question like a bullet at Stella.
"Ohhh cool down a bit, it was just a black cat who was trying to enter through the balcony". Stella replied as normally as possible so Rika won't doubt it. She herself was not able to digest what took place last night so how can she expect Rika to believe it.
"Ohh that's okay than". Rika said before adding "make sure to close your window shut before you go to the bed, okay? Rika ordered.
"Roger sir". Stella said enthusiastically like a girl scout.
"Hey I forgot I have an urgent matter to deal with at home so please take an emergency leave on behalf of me. See you tomorrow then". Saying this Stella took off not giving Rika any chance to ask anything more. Leaving her flabbergasted.
"Hey..." Rika called Stella loudly form behind seeing her retiring back.
Turning back to Rika, Stella showed a gesture of heart made of finger before leaving the class as the next lecture has not started yet.
'Ohh, this girl'. Rika could not say anything and Stella left.
'I need a bit of time to think about what happen last night'.
'Waking up this morning even thing seems as usual. I got up and turn off the ringing alarm clock and started my daily rotten. Everything was same like nothing happened, so I thought it was my hallucination or just a dream, but it is not, it is all frekingly real.'
She had a small memory of when she was a child, she was in a same bubble, but it was a bit blurred. Thinking all this Stella's head started to ache.
'Ahh, I should take some headache medicines".
Going home Stella brought some groceries with the medicine on the way.
Reaching home Stella first took the medicines. Sitting on the dinner table Stella notice there was a letter on the table. She doesn't remember putting any letter she has recently received to put it over here on the table.
Reading the note its seems like someone has put a prank. But except Rika who has the password to enter the house, no one else can enter the house. But Rika doesn't know anything about what happened last night or anything from my past. So it could not be her.
'But how can it come here out of nowhere'.
Reading the letter Stella notice it content the weird thing that keeps on happening to her when she was small. But how can someone know about her so much that no one know. Except for her parents.
'Could it have been them?'. Stella thought and connect that the letter must be placed here by the people who came last night.
Turning the letter Stella saw nothing, getting the hold of the envelope of the letter Stella saw it has name of her mother and father which she had failed to notice at first.
It has been so long that Stella had not seen her parents. They have also never tried to reach up to her over the past years. Her tranquil mind has started a hurricane of memories flooding back to her.
When she was a kid her father would always bring her to park at night after dinner for walk. It was one of the pleasant memories she had stored within her. She has always remembered her childhood fragment memories which comes to her like waves that hits the sea shore. Making her hard to believe that the person who has been with her, loved her, dotted on her with the never ending shower of happiness to just left her suddenly at a young age without saying anything.
For some reason she has always blame herself thinking that, what makes her different from other children was the reason that has caused her parent to leave her.
She has always wondered why was she like that, some or the other strange thing would always happen to her when she was small. Why was she different from other children of her age.
Crouching down she brought knees close to her, keeping her head on it. Her heart was aching. At a point she had stopped thinking of all this thing, burring it deep in her heart deciding that she is not going to crumble again with her thoughts, but with the appearance of the letter it has brought her back again to where she was escaping from.
Weeping her tear away that had escaped her eyes Stella stood up. Holding the letter tightly in her hand. She is going to find out the reasons she needed. Not wanting to stay at this bitter junction any more by herself.
It was frustrating and suffocating to just be sitting and be wondering the reasons and to blame herself.
'Why are they contacting her now out of blue. Why haven't they reached up to me earlier?'. Stella thought.
Checking the time Stella called Rika.
"Hey" Stella said and put her phone on a distance from her ears because she knew what was going to happen.
"HOW COULD YOU ?" Rika's ear defying voice come from the other side.
Stella started to explain Rika everything but gulping some part here and there and told her that she was going to meet her parents and asked her to take a leave of absence on her behalf for a day.
"Okay, I will but make sure you call me if there is anything you need help with." Rika said before hanging up the call a bit worried because she knows how Stella was sensitive about her parents.
